Leap day

born on a day and celebrate every so often

feel at odds and yet even with the solar galaxy

what brings to light and seeing the stars

and the movement that a special time has truly arrived

every moment feels so precise and yet which way the ocean

turns and how the power and its balance are used creates

a turning and tipping point

focus and breath always

NBA All Star Weekend was hit and miss

the actual game made up for the corny slam dunk and other contests. the actual game which saw the West when a wild thriller was very good. Kevin Durant was the MVP of the game for the West. Kobe Bryant surpassed Michael Jordan for most points in a All Star game. Dwyane Wade had a triple double in the game and Lebron James got down as well. Russell Westbrook had the dunks of the night. Nikki Minaj stunk up the joint with her opening routine and in truth most all star game entertainment shows are weak. i'll take the 1983 all star game any day of the week when Marvin Gaye did the "the Star Spangled Banner" and turned LA out that was a soulful performance and it went with the game.

this game though was good and its important to have a good one because most Sports all star games tend to be lacking.

days in the morning

follow me and look at me

\when did you last arrive and suddenly asleep?

drove around the block and couldn't believe my eyes

hidden like a message and texture of sure options

flow and many a theme and reason and how come

the fruit of your ground is as dry as an eye

when the emotions and words outta have been

a movement to rise and sought out in the middle

of the night?

numbers and ways create an invisble lane

Racist ESPN allowing Jeremy Lin to be subject

to those negative hateful words on there site because he had a bit of a ogg game friday night. ESPN outta be ashamed of themsselves for allowing an editor to use a racially offensive term. and they knew what it meant when it got put out there, however this is the same very network that hired Rush Limbaugh and we all know where that eventually went to. ESPN has had some of there writers over the years say some pretty off the wall things and i'm never shocked. however Jeremy Lin is Balling and he is the most happening Player going right now in the League and its time that people give the man respect and stop with name calling and acting funny toward him. he is a Proud Asian Man who can Play Basketball at the Professional Level and he is a Winner on the court so enjoy his game and applaud him. everybody deserves a chance. ESPN is a bad joke.

Whitney Houston's funeral

just heavy and made tears pour inside and out. so many great words and Music that was soulful and heartfelt. the kind of emotions that always a reminder of painful it is to lose loved ones and people you truly care about. its incredible how even though people say they love and respect somebody it takes death in quite a few cases for some people to truly saying it even louder. it always show that Love is a powerful thing and the Lord makes you feel it. God Blessed Whitney Houston and now she doesn't have to suffer anymore. my heart and soul goes out to her Family, friends and Fans worldwide because this past week has been draining and truly tough to digest and reflect. prayers and peace

Whitney Houston's funneral

tommorow or today by the time this post is put up will be the day that Whitney Houston will be her funneral and saying that feels so strange and wrong. such a powerful voice and pressence and yet nobody ever knows what anyone is dealing with and how lonely this thing called life can truly be. how does one find happiness and allow energy to expand and bring joy in other places of the soul? i'll catch parts of it and saying goodbye to her soul on earth, but not the spirit of her incredible Instrument which is timeless. tears pour inside and outside as i feel for her family and friends. so young and so unique and so much to offer this world. RIP

aguy has a heart attack eating a burger called a bypass

read about this today how this guy ate a burger called a bypass and the burger is heavy and triple stacked with any and everything in it and on it. well yeah you might just fall out behind it. i mean its no joke and why can you eat something as much at one time and not feel things? i wonder why this is even allowed to be served? of course somebody is going to take the challenge and if they are just lucky they will feel sick, however it can lead to even more serious ramifications and situations. don't take a challenge if its going to be life threatening and you really don't have to go through with it like that. ain't no burger worth falling out over. hope he will be alright.

Happy Valentines day to Me

the power to see and hear touch and sound

the most important heart starts with me

love and its warmth and kindness must

be felt from within thy own soul in order

to present it out

look in the mirror and watch expression

the smile and emotions have to be felt

the greatest love one can find

is the ability to love thy ownself

it was tough to watch the grammys

i couldn't help but think about Whitney Houston and her incredible talent and career. you know everything is put into perspective after you watch an event as such and then you realize just how much of a dominant figure she truly was. she represented so much musically. she was always on the biggest stages and she made them all memorable. Props to LL COOL J for the way he started the grammys and big time Props to Jennifer Hudson who did a very good job of singing "I'll Always love you" which WHitney Houston twenty years back made into a modern day classic again. congradulations to Adele and other winners, however heavy hearts were there that night and its going to be that way for a while thinking about Whitney Houston.

Whitney Houston RIP to the Queen of Pop

a voice of an angel and heaven allowed you the time to shine

creative and beautiful in spirit and soul, words and moments flowed

nature and sentimental grabbed a whole and that instrument of yours

never let up and joys of smiles to tears of purity all were felt from the soul

and warmth that came through your god given blessings that truly

made us feel Love and that much better for having heard a rich display

of harmony and sheer greatness

tonight Heaven took back an Angel of a voice that made us feel good

Box of clothes (RIP Uncle)

memorys and gifts moments i'd trade for another conversation

minutes and seconds I'd give for your advice and why i feel and hear

things so strangely and differently?

open away and the rain pours over me and no umbrella can take away

the overflow that reminds me of you

this day was bound to come and yet the soul at times feels

overwhelmed and unsure how to digest and yet another day

waits upon me and time to move along, however in a down time

situation all i see is a reminder of a box of clothes and not the soul

who wore them directly and yet the rays of you are felt in spirit

how you sleep

storms and morning are forth

a maze of winter has brought a early breeze

shallow is the mind and in the mist of it all

time moves and winks away any doubt

inch closer to a reality of motion and sound

shadow and sentiment replay over and over

as if the dawn was set to a match of proof

as i rise will the tide be in thy favor?

glad to see Jeremy Lin getting NBA playing time

the new York knicks finally decided to put Jeremy Lin in the game and the results have been great. he is putting up big time numbers and more importantly breaking down sterotypes. Lin is of Asian Decent and all the stereotypes have been said here and there, but this Man is balling and putting everyone on notice. he can shoot and pass. very athletic cat who has pletny of upside and the ability to create. all it ever takes is a chance to shine and be given that moment. some folks are calling the NBA's answer to the NFL's Tim Tebow and I'm like the big difference is that Lin obviously belongs in the NBA and can play, Tebow had to have the QB game out in denver re directed to his limitations, however with Jeremy Lin you are getting the real deal. I'm proud of the Asian Brother and hope he continues to shine. its all about chance and being able to put your best foot forward.

The SuperBowl aftermath

the game lived up to the hype and the Giants won. i wanted New England to win, but it wasn't meant to be. Madonna was good and entertaining. she knows how to work a crowd and do her thing. the commercials were hit and miss. however the whole nation really gets into the game and you just wait and see how things are going to go,etc. both teams had there chances and it was the usual type of game between the two teams. they truly have a tug of war thing going on when they play one another. football is the only sport where i wished it would go on all year because the games are always so exciting and you always want one more play. Eli manning got another Super Bowl MVP and he played good. he is a ELite QB though the Giants are one lucky team. Tom brady is still One of the Greatest if not the Greatest QB ever to me. it just was a little short. Patriots got alot of being not as good as other super bowl teams that made it all the way before. Giants were well coached and made plays.

Super Bowl hype time

the game is starting soon and then the commericals, the halftime show,etc.. every year this game takes on a whole new meaning and the hype kicks into full effect. no matter who you are rooting for, the game gets people all together and then folks take sides and get into it. food, drinks and fun are all had by all. what is going to stand out for you? the game? the commericals? the half time show? interviews? nothing like super bowl sunday and every year is as exciting as the time before and we tune into the next one and never get enough of it.

enjoy yourself and have a blast. be careful and celebrate.

Black History Month

its that time of the year to show the love for African Americans who paved the way for myself and so many other Black folks through Blood, Sweat and tears. hard work and non stop belief and efforts to educate and uplift a Race of People. History classes and books don't always tell even half the story still and it is very important to understand the contributions of African Americans to the United States and around the World. there is more to the struggle and acheivements than Hollywood or Sports. we have our first Black President in President Obama. accomplishements in the Medical fields, Law and other places that have help shape America as we know and love it. time to salute and honor.

Don Cornelious Died He was 75

talk about a shocker and that man's pressence on R&B music can't be overstated enough. he is one of the most Important people to R&B Music that wasn't an Artist per se. as a kid growing up watching Soul Train that was a big time happening event. alot of Black kids growing up today have alot more faces of other African Americans to see on tv, movie, music, etc.. but back in the day Soul train was one of those places where you knew where to be on Saturday and watch. he came from Chicago and took Soul train out to LA. just like motown records moved from detriot from the mid west too the West of LA, Soul Train and don Cornelious did the same. He forever changed the landscape of TV. this was the first channel that had Black Acts Performing and also the Soul train dancers made a name for themselves. Sid Mccoy the Announcer, you had Black Staff as writers and behind the scenes, including a Uncle Figure in my life who worked there. back in the day Soul Train and Fat Albert and the Gang were Saturday early afternoon fixtures. Don Cornelious was cool, calm and Collective. He did his thing and ran Soul Train the Brand and the name. He battled against Dick Clark and American Bandstand. Don was a Proud Black Man handling his Business and making a name for himself and he also ran the label Soul train records and spun off Artists and careers. The Whispers and then later Shalamar got there start from Soul Train As Dancers. Prayers go out to Family, Friends and Fans Worldwide. Peace, Love and Soul and right now a loss for words.
