black friday brings out the crazy

pepper spray attacks, stomping and running people over, camping out 3-4 days before last friday,etc.. just looking at the scene and hearing the news about some incidents and actions leads me to ask is it really worth it ? also if the umeployment rate or people just getting by from pay check to pay check is actual,then where are they getting the money, time and energy to be setting up shop outside of said places? i mean black friday in certain circles might be seen as important or arguably more important than thanksgiving if you go by the reaction and attitudes displayed from what i have seen. it is truly bedlam out here with it and not something i feel is worthy of the hype because there are going to be other sales and lets face it the technilogy changes as fast as the next step you take out of the door.

shaking my head at turkeys camping out and trying to be all first in line all for what? gadgets and things that in truth ain't going to matter but whenever these stores do heavy sales hype they got folks linned up like it was back in the day for a Michael Jackson concert or something. at least for that it was well worth the price, but to be sitting out over night for electric gadgets and things? naw i need my rest and i can wait for it to go on discount and also half off in a few months. the turn around these days makes things old within 3 months it use to be old in a year but now its 3 months. hope it helps with the economy but something is still off. alot of early shoppers out ther be careful and spend wisely.

i call it as i see and hear it and personally i couldn't expect the good ole boy crew and fans of Nascar to be progressive where the first lady Michelle Obama is concearned. its not just politics but skin color as well. hearing that and seeing the first lady getting booed as she was there with the VP first lady Mrs Biden and also to support our troops and spreading the word, however wrong place and wrong time. mind set is so sad still. i don't care how anyone trys to dress it up those boos were personal and also a reflection of a segement of the population that still isn't comfortable with an African American first couple in the White house. Nascar is as good ole boy and yesteryear as you can still get, despite the fact that Nascar is as big as its ever been and more mainstream than ever and yet there is still a divide and unease in places and some things just haven't changed that much.

DR J was a hero to alot of kids growing up back in the day and before Jordan, Kobe, Dominique wilkins, Vince Carter, Clyde Drexler, Spudd Webb,Lebron, and others there was the Great Dr J who in the air was magical. off the court he was a classy cat. however bad business has forced him recently to sell off his Jewlery and other personal items he held on to. it was sad to hear that his stuff sold for 3.5 million dollars, because Dr J never was able to get the kind of money that players of today get. if he was playing now I couldn't see him getting anything less than 150 million because just on hype and what he presented on the court alone would generate much loot. i hope he is able to get his stuff back or that things will be smoothly for him again. dr j deserves better than thiss to me. an all time great player and a classy soul brother.

why are the american music awards on again?

another year of boring and tired overrated and overhyped acts performing tired and cliched songs which are so forgettable it ain't even funny. i got more excited that Lionel Richie was a presenter at the end than anything else and I remember a time when a talent as great as Richie would put on a performance where folks talked about it and felt it,nowadays alot of these lame turkeys just put me to sleep and its the same ole faces and places year in and year out. its one big pyrimid of boring and forgettable acts for the most part. i want to say oh so and so was on point, but I'd be lying. the fact that the AMA's got moved to November shows how far this once proud entertaining show has truly fallen off. i mean what does an award really say in 2011 when folks aren't breaking there necks to buy alot of these tired albums?

Penn State what a sad twisted mess?

first and foremost thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and there families and next how did Jerry Sandusky get away with this evil cruel act for so long without anyone doing a thing? Joe Paterno is a Great Head football Coach and i will always remember him on the sidelines, however i hope i don't remember him just standing on the sidelines for something as evil and negative as these charges against his former defensive coach. alot of these college football schools have there dirt be it money under the table, cars, gifts, etc.. things of that nature and magnitude i don't even trip and i have said many a time i feel like players ought to be paid because the schools make alot of money off of players, but this type of scandal is uncalled for and it is truly a sad,sad sad state of events. if people knew and didn't do a thing well then that is being an accessory and that is a crime. it shows corruption and lack of code of conduct and swept under the carpet, truly horrorable and disguisting.

RIP Andy Rooney and RIP Heavy D

two voices that represented in different ways however i had much respect for both. Andy ROoney made me stay loyal to 60 minutes and i always say we wouldn't have alog were it not for Any Rooney he made those last 5 minutes of 60 minutes some of tv's best moments period. his commentary and sharp wit and takes were second to none. very sharp and wise cat who knew his stuff a true journalist unlike what goes for news reporting today. he was truly a trailblazer.

Heavy D one of hip hop's most cross over acts who still stayed grounded and represented his lane like no other and he was versatile and had personality for days. one of those cats you just find yourself pulling for. he died so young and yet he made a huge impact. he was a voice and a soul who gave it his all and he was right on time!

RIP Joe Frazier

one of the Greatest boxers ever and his fights with Muhammad Ali back in the day were the real deal. there was a time when Boxing was the end all be all, much like Football today or the Mix martial Boxing Arts. Joe Frazier was a strong dude and he was a champion who didn't always get his due, but his determination and pride made him somebody you didn't want to have to deal with. he was strong and very much on the ball. he lost his battle with Liver Cancer just this past evening and I want to send peace and blessings out to his family,friends and fans worldwide. always got props for the Brother Man.

20 years ago today Magic Johnson and HIV

hard to believe its been exactly 20 years ago to the date when Magic Johnson came on national tv and announced he had contracted HIV and back then not only was he my favorite basketball player growing up and I still will take his game against anybody else pretty much because Magic truly was just that on a basketball court to me, but the way the news hit was so overwhelming and strong. fast forward 20 years later and he looks good and he has re invented himself into a multi corporation and doing incredible things and generating alot of jobs and giving back to the community. back then we thought we might lose him at any given day or night,etc.. but he is still going strong and he has been blessed by his wife, children, family and friends. but hearing that news back then was errie and haunting. i remember hearing that news like it was yesterday.

Dr.Conrad Murray found Guilty

nothing to celebrate and this to me is only a small note where Michael Jackson is concearned. there are so many other hands involved and so many other un answered questions and things that just almost make this barely a footnote. Dr Murray was sloopy and his choices and decisions were very questionable and shakey to say the least, however does he deserve a sentence in full? no not that all. things just don't add up. Michael Jackson is the king of music to me and a Great humanitarian who truly changed the world of Music and he was a once in a lifetime type of personality,etc.. now having said all of that MJ was addicted and he was used and abused by countless people in the business including family members and i truly feel that touring was the last thing he wanted to do. dr.murray did what i believe that AEG offered other doctors to do. believe me dr murray hasn't done anything more extreme than some of these other hollywood doctors,etc.. it is a messy situation and so sad and nobody wins. in fact this verdict means even more questions than answers. we will never know the full truth.

daylight savings time

well its time to spring back an hour and then wait 4 months to lose an hour and to me it really doesn't matter beyond the first day because it all just goes by so fast. i wish it wouldn't even matter any more because it is all evenly matched out except in the fall and winter it gets darker sooner whereas spring and summer gives you more light and evening. either way the time goes by and after about a day you don't even think about it like that. still there was a time when it mattered to me and my sleeping style but not so much these days at all.

Herman Cain the latest political figure in the mix

well Herman Cain is making quite a bit of noise and I wonder is it because he is considered a cat with personality? a cat that walks to the beat of his own drum? or being a Black Conservative? could and probably is all three. this past week allegations against him from his past came up and he was cool as a card player in a game of black jack even when he was past 21 he still get a tight face, however pressure is on him. also as a Black Conservative which is very divisive within the country and folks got takes on that. Herman Cain who I call Big Daddy Cain after the 80's rapper Big Daddy Kane because Herman Cain always got a line or something. he is a trip and a interesting runner for the White house, problem I see is that once the gimmicks run there course and he has to speak out on issues will he have anything else in the cannon or will the smike and mirrors erode? will he say that he is a victim of racial politics because he is a Black Man running as a conversative much the way Clarence thomas went through to get his supreme court seat 20 years back despite controversy? Herman Cain has his critics and he seems to me he shucks and Jives alot and yet he could end up being a front runner Because the Republican poll is weak and he has a sense of humor. however having said all of that two things, he ain't touching no President Obama and next America ain't ready for two Black Men to battle it out for President despite Cain being conservative. but he makes for some good entertainment and he is a cool cat.

i don't care if its halloween or anything, you don't parade around in black face and not expect to offend somebody. funny how I hear some white people say that now there is a Black President that racial issues are behind us or that some say oh you are living in the past, however a friendly reminder of seeing somebody wearing black face ain't to be taken lightly, it is very racist and offensive. folks know when they do it that its going to cause a reaction and make somebody's blood pressure boil. its no secret that 80% of hip hop purchases are buy by White America and the music industry isn't ran by Black folks those images and whatnot are green lighted as a way to represent. its truly sad and this Hockey player ought to know better and also needs a history lesson on a not so distant past where there is a reason why you don't do this and the way it was portrayed. now if Jay Z stood up and spoke out against it then it would get some mch dialouge going about the severity of it and the way it impacts so much of what we see and hear. of course the images the lyrical content coming out on record is hard to defend because alot of what we hear is garbage and very destructive to me.

NOT!!!!!!!!!!! Kim Kardashian always comes across like she is running a hustle and basically she is this era's version of Jennifer lopez any and everything to get some kind of attention by any means necessary. now the latest is that her marriage to NBA baseketball player Kris Humphreys is over after 72 days. to some folks it lasted about 71 days and 23 hours more than they thought. talk about contrived and anything to sell there tv show?? i mean in truth I'm tired of seeing the Kardashians. they are basically gold diggers who will do anything for a dollar and camera time so it seems. another reality based act with no talent and alot of attitude and money and appeal is the selling point however this act is way past the pull date and needs to be over. and another example of Marrriage being taken for granted and abused that is such a shame that this goes on in Hollywood and in general period.

Halloween came and went

funny how halloween feels like a holiday and is treated as such though it has been a marketing theme that has gone way further than it should have to me. i wonder when did Halloween become such a in thing? i mean two things that seem symbolize Halloween is Michael Jackson;s "thriller" video and also "the rocky Horror picture show" it is two things that you can count being broadcast and played and then of course Ray Parker Jr's "ghostbusters" that is played alot as well. i haven't been into Halloween in so long i can't tell you when. it was cool back in the day and it is cool as a parent to go door to door, however the actual day just often feels like kinda there with no reason or purpose. trick or treat i wonder is that going to be a new tax theme? i just don't really get into it like that and hey that is cool. enough creepy things go down without having a whole day dedicated to it.
