looking closely and seeing the eyes that don't lie

intense and focused as the dreams of the early evenings

went into the park after dark and discovered a touch

of breeze and the careless ease of scent and smile

came over me as the stars in the sky were

winking at us

moonlit and August and plenty of

eye contact to make the rounds
