then they get that actress up there cursing, which had never happen before, now you let

that been a rapper or a black artist you would see all kinds of protest and signs,etc..

what does an oscar exactly mean any way? it ain't like its gonna mean

your career will last. you want that box office. its about that paper.

oscars is so old and tired they can't update that mess unless they acknowledge

what is going on. hollywood still on that old mind set and dealing and it shows.

the only Oscar i dig is Oscar meyer hot dogs and that mustard has color to it, unlike

recently in New York a billboard had a picture of a very young black girl and the words read, the worst place for an African American is in the womb? a texas company had that put there. the type of racist, hateful language which still continues to divide from here in America. i'm noy shocked nor suprised and still like quite a few other African-Americans i'm still surprised this country elected a Black Man as President considering the obvious hate that lingers.

interesting how that sign was front and center and the fact new york city even allowed it in the first place is scary unto itself. there are times when moments like this happen i wonder if it is 1911 or 2011? truly sad.

Smoking bans are kicking in even more so

i say it is long overdue. 2nd hand smoke has long ago effected so many lives and it is good to hear

that certain laws are going into a effect to curb even more of that,because for far to long that smoke found its way on people who didn't necessary wanted it associated on there being.

i can't personally stand the smell of smoke and the lasting fumes it leaves.i use to go out to clubs and my clothes smelled like one big astray and that was a problem.

i feel its about time and while people have there right to smoke, just don't puff it in my direction.

the buds being left in places isn't a good look either.

where i live we are expecting snow and some slick roads,so i said today be

prepared for you never know what is gonna come down from the sky. stay all bundled

and wrapped up, the weather is no joke. winter where i live is strange because its been

every other month where it is snow and then the odd month no snow, strange winter.

orginally the forecast was for a heavy winter, however on a whole its been ordinary.

who knows what the rest of the week has in store, but winter is always the hardest season and longest season to figure out.

today was Presidents day and i was thinking about

some of the past presidents. 12 of them were Slave owners and 8 of them had slaves while in office. a real interesting thing is the last name Washington. the first president on the dollar bill george Washington there are 90% of black people in America with that Surname.

its always amazing how names are attached to Slavery and that particular ugly part of american History. the last name still carrys alot of weight.

i bring this sensetive topic up because this happens to be black history month and irony of it being presidents day and also the founding forefathers are acknowledged.

so many thoughts and reflections go through ones mind when, thinking of the history, good,bad and ugly represented over time.

walking is good exercise

i truly enjoy a good walk, and no matter what time of the year

well winter can be slick, nevertheless i get around that particular time

pretty well and manage. the conditions be it windy, foggy, sunny or rainy

i find a way to feel free upon each stride i take. walking to me is just like drinking water,

it frees the soul and gives you so much energy and movement, i feel relaxed and comfortable

after a good walk. all i need is a half hour really. things like this protect you as you get older.

i've walked for alot of years, i thank my grandmother, for encouraging it, because

it truly feels good and i don't time myself or anything, i just go one and the same with mother nature.

Nba All star game/the oscars

two events that i can truly take or leave. the nba all star game is more interesting in who is selected than the actual game. it's been years since a all star game has moved me. feels like guys don't even start balling until the last 5 minutes of the game. also it feels very playground like. now this year having blake grffin of the la clippers on board ought to make things interesting. still it is usually 2-3 quarters of alot of showmanship, but the intensity isn't displayed. the game back in the day was better to me because the unknown type of player would have that out of body moment to shine, now it feels so corperate and contrived, you just already kinda know what is gonna happen. as scripted as scripts can be.

the oscars while i look forward to seeing the social network and a few other films, the fact that the oscars have shut out black actors,actress and films work this year means i don't want to give it the time of day.

also more people talk about the fashion as to the actual winners and the work.

it's more show than actual show.

these sorta programs are entertaining and yet limiting and we never get the full goods.

Jeporady computer contestant wins

watched Jeporady the other night game of champions and Ken Jennings the Champion

of that show and another contestant battled sgainst the computer and they lost badly.

amazing how quickly and precise the computer was at answering the questions.

it was something different and quite compelling to say the least. the score was a blow out

as the computer was having it's way. sorta how in reality how gadgets control the mind

hard to think of a time now without gadgets and electric equipment not doing the part.

Book Stores are facing the hard reality crunch of the economic times

where Books aren't quite the same huge sellers they once were.

technilogy has eaten up on the Printed matter, and the Kendle is the latest

reading gadget which has made the reading expereince a whole different take

and vibe. if the record stores are falling by the waist side then you know it's only

a matter of time before Book stores are feeling the effects.

there was a time when a Business as such seemed timeless, however with the economy

and the technilogy which is making the book store trip much like the record store

it is a reflection of the times.

why is South Carloina honoring the Civil War?

watch and read the USA today headline today and just moved my head like I was dizzy. SOuth Carolina is celebrating the 150 year anniversary of the Civil War and I wonder why? I mean it is about Property and Slavery. i Mean we have a Black President and the Down South is still basking about the past which has continued to divide America Black and White.

i saw the programs and the way things are presented. it makes me wonder what makes folks want to go back and not acknowledge the damage and effects of Slavery to this very day? why would anyone want to celebrate something that made a race of people property and sold off Plantations which turned into tax write offs,etc...

why would anyone dare claim a ugly time period in America? the History books need to address this and america owes Black America a Apology and also reparations which are long overdue.

if Black folks were properly acknowledged behind this injustice, then lets see how quickly the Civil War Party goers would be quick to celebrate??

Michael Vick isn't gonna be on Oprah

it was reported that SuperStar Quarterback Michael Vick of the Philideliphia Eagles, was suppose to be on Oprah and he cancelled it. many wonder why? well how would Oprah's audience recieve Michael Vick especially after his conviction for the dog fighting and the deaths of the dogs? Michael Vick has paid his debt to society did his time and has gone a whole different route and I'd like to think folks would acknowledge his great comeback season for the eagles this past year as to dwell on the past. Vick won the NFL's Comeback Player of the year and AMerica is about a second chance.

i would like to see him get a fair chance at given a chance at where he is at now and not the past.

I dig Michael Vick and respect him and he has moved on and time for him to be heard and not being questioned and whatnot.

President Mubarak steps down Egypt is celebrating

President Mubarak stepped down late thursday night and Egypt is celebrating like there is no tomorow. it means the whole world to Egyptian People world wide, freedom at a price. it is a historical time and after 30 years the strings became untied. the past few weeks there with all the chaos and maddness was a sad state for eyes to see and I'm glad things are coming into view.

the news was a buzz over the news and I caught all the stations covering it as the reaction from all over the world and in the United States.

news like this is incredible as it truly captures the human imagination and thensome. it is truly a where were you and what were you doing type of scene and sentiment. i was speechless.

Grammys this weekend Yikes!

talk about a Snore bore? i can't even remember the last time the grammys meant

anything and everything to me. there was a time when it counted to me and meant

worth bringing food and snacks for. the grammys hand them out like candy.

the business is all over the place and yet it still dictates a certain level of interest.

the Grammys though the like the Oscars are treated like the equal to the Super Bowl

for Music and film respectively which to me it isn't even like that.

best new artist category alone is a kiss of musical death and leaves not much there.

the awards don't mean your career is gonna mean anymore than it did before.

Green Bay Won the Super bowl

congradulations to the Green Bay Packers in there victory over the pittsburgh steelers 31-25. Mvp Aaron Rodgers did his thing. the game was entertaining, the half time show stunk. the black eyed peas and Usher bored me to sleep. very rarely do they get the halftime show right. Prince had the last cool one to me. the halftime show was about as exciting as the steelers offense in the first half, not happening.

i enjoyed the evening hanging out with friends and eating and having a great time. the super bowl is like a holiday in the states and truly brings alot of joy and expression.

football is the past time because every year people get there gear and hype for there teams. it is a great time had, i hope there isn't a strike next year.

the game was very good and a bit closer than it should have been, still it was almost a nail biter.

Chaos in Egypt

that whole scene in Egypt this past week was scary and very intense. it impacts the whole world around us, because politics and the uncertain future and maddness just reared it's ugly head for the whole world to see. News commentators and reporters were beating up and in hostile territory and it was all about surviving and not doing anything else but trying to get out of that mix as soon as possible, protest and Anger were on full display. as a nation and a world we have to pray and wish Egypt the best and hope that there will be peace in the long run, because that was very extreme and it painted a picture of unrest and tension that wasn't very welcoming.

Black History Month

it is febuary and it is black history month, a time of the year that back in the day, where cultural significance,leaders, freedom fighters, artists would all come together as one. black history month is very important because it is astory that doesn't get it's full balance. there are so many strong Black People that paved the way for generations to come. from Slavery, to Jim Crow and the half tales of Affirmative Action.

seeing how a people overcome so much that was used legally and illegally against and yet have thrived in spite of.

if you don't know your history than your story has no meaning. got to acknowledge in order to see the light.

grocery bills

always interesting at what i will go shopping for, how long does it take to find what i'm looking for

and what needs to go and what needs to stay back. there are times when i'll over spend and then there are other times when i bought stuff and forgot about it.

now when money is tight,suddenly a ten bag set of cracker jack's looks real appealing.

i look to see what and where i have saved and guess what? still looking for a deal.

oh well until the next time,i saved some money.

straight up and down Srah Palin is one bad looking soccor mom. she looks good to me. as long as she doesn't talk much we are good to go. can't stand her politics, however she is good to the eyes. the nba on tnt with charles barkley, kenny smith and ernie johnson always trips me out.

and when the game was in new york last week and they asked Morgan what he thought about Sarah Palin, he said what alot of dude's thought and feel. she is a babe and great eye candy.

not much light in the bulb, however i like checking her out.

political correctness is corny and not used when it truly out to be used.

black folks still can't get no love at the oscars

how you gonna have a black president and yet not get any oscar nominations for a film?

now granted the oscars are overrated and really don't count for your career,yet still this overslight is another form of a racial control society saying that a race of people aren't worthy of said award.

the oscars are the super bowl to the film game, so who makes these choices and shuts out an entire race?

i find it painful and embarassing that this is tolerated and in 2011 it is the same ole same.

to me black actors and actress's been getting token treatment out there for years and just bits.

folk deserve way better than scraps. is this 2011 or 1911?
