words that said another day had arrived

and no longer was a space within the heart

as the air winter had arrived the scene from within

had been closed and the eyes had closed upon sight to sight

as gifts and decorations were to arrive, the envelope

and boxes were left off to the side for a eye to see the

bare reality and where things were headed

as if any other time could have been digested any better

a particular time to say goodbye had been met

on a highway that forever pointed into two

different dirfections as if the sun and snow

could no longer mix hands and time together
