Holiday leftovers

so much extra food to digest to have with family and friends. it is truly special to share meals and enjoying company and being in the company of down to earth souls. what would life be without moments that bring people together? this is what life is all about and thensome. now turkey can go for sandwiches,with soup,stews,etc... you can make it last past new years and maybe longer. for me thanksgiving leftovers are the best overall to me on a whole. finding my miracle whip and bread with lettiuce, tomatos,etc... hits the spot. being hungry during this particular time period isn't a option. i always find something that hits the spot. a nice double or triple decker hits the spot. time to get my grub on.

Father and Son businessmen the Fenner

i'm very fourtunate to know of the father and son business men Larry Senior and Larry Junior the Fenner Larry Sr has his own Bar B Que business out here in the Northwest called "Brick House Smokey Southern Style Bar B Que sauce. it is truly off the chain good. Larry is a great businessman and i feel honored to have his sauce and he does alot of business in the area and beyond.

his son Larry Jr i have known for some years as well and his own business which is called capslangin which also can be found at capslangin.com is a ground breaking business with so many ways to style a ball cap. Larry Jr created a way through his vision to have pictures of famous people and also be it pictures of yourself,family members,etc.... to show through your cap and reflect. in fact his ground breaking concept has attracted the attention of so many well known people in all walks of life throughout the world. matter of fact he recently got a deal with disney for developing more of his concepts.

on his site he gives a briefing about the caps and his concepts and also a direct number and access to reach him. him and his Father have both been truly blessed.

i always enjoy hearing about successful storys of people and even better when they are people you know and the lesson learned is to never stop believing in yourself and follow your dream and pray on it with God. believe me many a prayer is answered and this father and son duo have been truly blessed.

President elect Obama and family at a food shelter helping people

the other day on thanksgiving giving back to the community is what it is all about. i believe in humbling ones self and understanding and respecting all people. President Barack Obama is truly a people person as is his Wife and there children. you can appreciate the basic fundementals of courtesy, respect and dedication that goes a long,long,long ways and how it impacts so much of our daily lives. he was there with his family to serve and talk to citizens and get input as he has always done. there is a soulful and such a warmth to president obama that truly has inspired myself. i respect how the man carrys himself and how he stays grounded and his family is in tune with his every move and you feel the sentiments there. thanksgiving is about thanks, giving and also showing the love, compassion and understanding and lifting all people up through whatever obstacles they are faced with.

the Lebron James sweepstakes begins

yes it is two years away but word about what Lebron James will do in 2010 in terms of where he will play ball are a hot topic. Lebron being respectful of other free agents in that year including Dwayne Wade(who for my money was the best player on the recent dream team that won the gold) and fellow olympic gold winner Chris Bosh. Lebron James has hinted at playing in New York or so. alot depends on what his current team the Cleavland Cavilers do and how far they go. but Lebron James is sitting on a gold mind when he makes that next step in his career and he has earned that right. he of course got a comment out of Charles Barkley. Sir Charles said that Lebron should be quiet and Lebron called Charles out on that comment. Lebron is the next dude in the NBA who will be running it all and he has already made a mark on the game and the scary part the best is still yet to come. He has people talking and he was the buzz of the week in the sports world. it will be interesting how his cavs season turns out and what the future holds, but King James is on his way big time.

Black Friday

well today was the day that people throughout the country got a early start on holiday shopping. all kinds of deals and places to go and people to see,etc... i have never gotten up that early to take in on the deals through various department stores. this whole weekend is good for the economy and in the retail market it is a much needed relief. deals on computers, clothes, and other gadgets which are very important. i saw alot of deals in the newspapers and in other outlets and it is a good time for some shoppers,but in light of the climate with the recessions,bailouts and the tough times going down. what will happen over the course of the holidays? but today seems to be off to a good start.

the time of the year to give thanks and reflect on so much. time to gather with family, friends and just feel good. this time of the year for me might arguably be the most important holiday of them all because it truly is about saying and giving thanks. so much is offered and available and so much needs to be given for all and no soul should ever feel left behind. watch the charlie brown thanksgiving which i always do and i feel spirited about this time of the year as i reflect on past times and what it has meant thus far in my life,etc... remembering our troops, soliders then and now, familys all over the world and in between and making sure everybody has a place to stay and also to eat,etc... so much to be thankful for and also to pray on so let us not forget all lives and pray for unity. god bless.

craigslist the happening spot

i know i'm late but craigslist is the place to be in tracking down various items and what have you. so many various items and things to find at regular and half off prices. it seems every year or so a new place is offering a even better deal and whatnot and now it is craigslist that is the place to deal with and seek out things. you would be surprised at how close and near it is to get said items. accessibility and finding out what you need and want. i just discovered some cars and other electric equipment that fits into the things that i'm looking to seek out. i find myself in awe of some of the things that are available to get and i will look to invest in time. craigslist is the place to be.

opening your mail box

it is still cool to find mail inside of the box after all of these years and the modern technology,etc... i find it re-freshing to see mail directly no matter what it is directed to me. it feels like a honor. now don't get me wrong losing mail or having the wrong mail sent to me has been a pain, but at the end of the day having that mail delievered directly to me is a good feeling indeed. i run to the box to see what awaits and it feels right on. i have fond memorys of my first mail i got. seems just like yesterday. any kind of mail can be a good moment,but nothing like mail that is good or uplifting.

American Music Awards

tonight is the AMA' s and while the show hasn't meant a whole lot to me in many a year, i find myself still watching it and yet i don't even seem to care and yet i want to care. nowadays there are more ways to get music and more ways to find it and explore it,etc.. but i find myself just listening to older things or just listening to the radio for the standard fare just to keep up more than anything that i would buy. now i hear some cool songs here and there and i also like some things,but overall i moonwalk over so much that is out. my mood is about hearing the right kind of song or songs. but i still watch for performances and whatnot. the award shows in truth haven't moved me in about 20 years. it was about the performance and who won what. then it became more about fashion and i guess to a point it was always a factor but i also know the music back then for me had more depth. but then again every era has had it's fair share of corn and not always buttered. but anyway i will listen and see how this show goes down because the music lover in me can't help myself that way.

Michigan versus Ohio State

not quite the hype of last year and talk about a tough loss last year? well fast forward to this year and that loss while painful ain't nothing when compared to how bad Michigan has looked on the field under new head coach Rich Rodriquez. i knew that going into the year that it was gonna take work, but not where the woolverines would be on a 8 game losing streak. i can't stand Ohio State and i always say if we don't win but 1 game all season then let it be against Ohio state and hopefully this will be the case. Ohio State is within there usual near the top type of season. we are so Bad this year that we won't even get a taco time bowl invite. we need to do something good this year i hope.

glad that Michigan's men's basketball team upseted Ucla the other night. now if Michigan's men's football team can do the same against Ohio State then that would be awesome.

windy weekend

as the wind blows and the rain comes the weekend begins and you take all of those elements and then prepare for what awaits,but it is the weekend and that means enjoying all the good things that are the weekend. hearing the sounds of the street and the atmosphere and all the lights it all feels good and suddenly the weather has no moment beyond being a backdrop. i feel that time and i just reflect as happens. never know what awaits from the sky but i can take it and enjoy what a weekend means and how it all feels like. this time of the year is really cool like that. the trees and leaves are scattered and the feeling in the air is something else in deed.

why exercising is so much fun

take a bike ride or going hiking or just walking all of the energy you use is pretty interesting and it opens your heart and breathing abilitys and so much more. i find new ways to feel good about simple exercise that i probably hadn't thought about in the past. playing pick up basketball or football is a whole lot of fun as well. then of course the vast amount of water i enjoy drinking. a good sweat goes a long ways as well. it is good to try different things and of course stretching out and getting ready for activitys,etc... push ups or just doing basic moves to work out legs and arms are good as well. so many cycles to use and ways to get into place. there are always new forms and ways of doing routines and it is good to bring that in.

household items you need

what can't you live without? be it toliet paper, paper towels, soap, and other essentials. what makes your household full and whatnot? do you need a computer? cell phone? i mean what makes your house a home in this day and age and why? funny how what we want and thank we want or need is different at what we settle for and with,etc.... so we just drift with our mind about the past and hope to obtain certain items. but remember when we were kids and dreamed of this grand big ole house and all the things we wanted and thought was the end all be all. but in time those things change and sentiments change as well. so look around your house and pick out what you find is a must and then subtract or add. it's a interesting situation to say the least. and then reflect your past,present and then your future with all those things.

what we learn about ourselves

it's amazing the things one learns about themselves through the best and worst of times. it is amazing at how our journeys lead us into areas and things that truly represent people. what can you do understand stress. what you can do when everything is going right. life is twisted. but is it really? you put alot into what which way you go and still who knows how things will go. projects are always a dream. and dreams are always there to reach and go for. from the time growing up through adult life and in between many challenges. seems everyday we learn something new if we allow our minds to grow and expand. where shall we go and what do we hope to accomplish? what do you hope to be doing in time? always keep your mind open and explore your dreams.

monday night football with friends

what a night of football when my team is on and hanging out with friends. the only down side is that my buffalo bills lost tonight and it was bad loss. we lost to the Cleveland Browns tonight and it was a tough loss to take. but being with friends was a real blast. smiles and good laughter and the agony of defeat along with reaction. trying hard to cheer because the feeling of a tough loss became the fact. when your team plays on monday night football any and everything can happen and tonight was the case. sunday games with friends are cool, but there is still something special when your team is representing on monday night football and for the whole football nation to see and watch. but if you don't win then alot critics and folks. hopefully the next time we get a monday night football game we will be successful. but having friends and a good time is a victory in itself.

many a minute

as if the clock ticked and tocked

and when did the minutes and seconds go to?

where was my hour spent doing and what did

i think about as the hands on the clock went around

in a circle?

give myself time to rewind and fast forward at my own pace

enough time to speed up everything to the final seconds

yet i snooze at the sight of another day when the alarm

doesn't go off and yet on the weekend i tend to hide from time

and what makes one day different from the next again?

what makes magic?

what makes a dream and creation?

what makes you feel comfortable and relaxed

and what makes you feel so composed and sure

of signs and images in frames?

all is a picture and all is a symbol

of expression and yet nothing went away

in the land of magic all things vanish

only to return but what has returned

and left exactly?

that is the illusion of life

messages at church

it's funny when you are going through something how the words or passages seem to reflect that directly in some form or capacity. i truly pay attention to the message and details from start to finish. i tend to think of good and eliminate the negative aspects and that helps me out so much. the power and glory can truly uplift you and with each passing day and night those words become even more enriched through my whole being. i pay attention to what is said and the manner and expressions of fellow followers. it is a great testimony of life,liberty and sentiments. i feel the truth and the context and embrace all of it. it is a wonderful feeling and sentiment.

where the sun takes me

today i awake and see the celing and walk the room

no time for gloom or doom but time to smell the rays

of light that told me late,late last night, that the heart

and mind was truly out of sight

and i smile as the window has a grin on it's shadow

and then the leaves fall into place,but my mind is at ease

and i do erase any doubts or thoughts that make me drift

i nearly fell out of chair upon reading that line. here we are in a new century with the very first elected African-American President and somebody is using a term that is so 1908. i wonder did anyone tell her what the year is and the terms? but then again that way of thinking and mindset represents a older feel and tone and change isn't gonna come easily and there are some folks out here who won't be able to deal with a Black Man as President. no matter how progressive the world in which we live in and blessed to see each day, you still have that negative element. now Lohan is a big name in hollywood, but even the liberal spin that Hollywood often trys to give itself, it isn't beyond having a seperate but equal playing field in it's own backyard. it caught me off guard, but i wasn't shocked nor surprised.

learning something new

last evening one of my closes friends, his daughter, his Girlfriend(who celebrated a birthday last night Happy Birthday) and her kids and myself all got together to celebrate my buddy's girlfriend's birthday. the celebration was incredible, but even better was the fact that my buddy's girlfriend is a Sign Language teacher and can communicate very well. it was a incredible and moving experience for me to see upclose. i admire the ability to take on a challenge that requires a whole new level of communication and the way it can impact and touch lives. i only know a little bit about sign language, but after last night i want to explore more. i feel it has a rhythm and feel all of it's own and is truly amazing and all of the people that were there last night to celebrate and also communicate left a lasting impression on me.

a smile is the best

have a day when it seemed all doom and gloom

felt like nothing could turn your mood around

well something as simple as a smile turned that

frawn upside down

and then became the better and improved you

like snow to a window with the warmth and sunshine

all of that ice shall melt and the natural rhythm of laughter

and a smile will say you have truly arrived

lately i have re-connected with people from the past

talk feeling so much natural joy and uplift?

had to allow myself a personal rebirth and just

be in the moment and recapture all those sentiments

and feelings again with people who truly blessed me

from a time ago. sometimes you move into a entirely

different direction and you seek finding out newer things,

and they may or may not work,but it is important to always

remember the kind and heartful souls that truly have always

had your best interest. that is so needed then and especially now.

yesterday i didn't see the sun but today

i arrived and felt the warmth of laughter

went to a store and found so much joy upon

delight in the moments that smiled back at me

when does the moon become the sun again and the clouds hide?

how does the phone ring and yet never has a tone that you can touch?

if something was new and you could re-invent it again what would you do?

what makes hearts melt and what makes them become broken?

and what does your mind re-think and rewind and then not always

fast forward? if only in the instance of creation and solving

and then like the moon that turns into the sun and the rain

that turns into the shine would all things then become fine??

prayers go out to Jennifer Hudson and family

it's been a couple of weeks but hearing this random act of violence that happen to Jennifer Hudson's Mother and relative was so sad and sick. it pains me to hear and see news like that. one of the reasons why it is so hard to watch the news and whatnot. tragedy is part of everyday life, but it isn't something i need or want to see and this act of violence was un-necessary and didn't have a place at all. i hope that she can stay strong and positive as a person because this storm she is facing is very painful and it leaves a lasting sting to ones soul. prayers are with her and her family.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW that feels good saying that and it is Historical. it needed to happen and thank goodness it did. a Black Man who had a dream of a better world for all has become the 44th elected President of the United States. Rest in Peace to his grandmother who passed right before Election day. Bless Him, his Wife, Children and family and all of the supporters who never questioned or dared him to dream. He is living Proof that anything is possible and never to say never about anything. I never thought I'd see a Black Man elected to the White House in my lifetime or any lifetime, but as Sam Cooke sang and wrote about" a Change is gonna come" and indeed last night on November 4th 2008 it happen. Great to see Rev Jesse Jackson, Oprah Winfrey and so many wonderful people in the aisles and out voting and all the Newspapers that were sold and all the hearts and souls touched by this very successful victory last night. also John Mccain and Sarah palin did well and we are all Americans and the whole World is watching how we treat one another and it is time for change and to embrace all of our Brothers and Sisters all over the World and also to take care of Home. President Obama is the start of the new chapter. Yes We Can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gonna be hard,hard sleeping tonight and the thought of a historical night is just around the corner. Barack Obama is so close to becoming the first Black President Ever and My heart and SOul is dancing left and right. talk about something that i thought would never ever happen in my lifetime? yeah he is gonna win and he deserves to and it is long overdue in America. it feels like something out of a movie and I don't want it to ever end. it is a powerful statement about America and the World at large and it is time for a change. My Aunt Marie bless her soul and all that she means to me, helped on his phone campaign in St Louis,Mo as have so many other people have and are glowing in this time of accomplishment which will forever change sentiments throughtout the nation. can't wait to see Barack Obama Win and feel the change and excitement in the air. dawn of a new day.

what happen to me today?

like the leaves that fell so did my today

ain't no sunshine and ain't no ray of joy

November Leaves

fall,fall upon thy and where have the sky sun gone?

wake me up and i find many drops of rain and the glow

of yesterday,today and tommorow all in a single smile

like a dial on a radio station the groove and beat hits

and never lets up from start to finish and i want

that movement and pulse of since of rhythm

in my mind over and over again

and yet holidays are upcoming

and faces shall frawn or smile

but the movements and moments

shall never be upside down

and that smell of a morning in November

awaits my soul

turn the clock back tonight daylight savings time

it's that time of the year where you go back and yet it seems everything still goes forward and never stops. it's funny how gaining a extra hour doesn't really make or break my sleep patterns and it feels more or less the same the next day. i remember when it use to feel so new and different and now it feels just like another day. funny how going from halloween to daylight savings time and reflecting on it all. i will set the clock up early this evening and then be as mentally prepared as i possibly can be. there is never enough hours in a day to begin with and now you have a additional one and still can't put it all together or seems. i use to get excited about the extra hour but when you see the dark in the morning and come from work in the dark it is all the same but it is cool and before you know it the next change of time will be here as well.
