seems just like yesterday that people along the gulf had to deal with Hurrican Katrina and now Gustav threatens the very same area, but this time around resuce workers and teams are getting people up and out of places and making sure everything is done right. the last time it was a natural disaster which was a horror. alot of people had to flee there homes and re-locate. 3 years back there was a racial divide when it came to helping out victims. alot of Black folks weren't given the same fair treatment when it came to rescues. I still won't forget President George Bush not coming to New Orleans but a week almost after the fact. this time around he is somewhat trying to act alert with VP dick cheney on deck making a direct stop toward th area. nobody is every ready for a Hurricane, or any type of powerful storm. thoughts and Prayers go out to all that were affected then and anyone else dealing with it now.
the Republican Convention starts this week
last week was the Democratic Convention which was held in denver, colorado and this week's Rubplican Convention is being held in St Paul,Minnesota. John Mccain the Republican Nominee has selected as His Vice Presesident choice Sarah Palin. Palin is a Governor of Alaska in her 2nd year and she is equally conservative and also is young. she is three years younger than Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama. I believe Mccain wanted to level the playing field and also felt the pressure. the choice of Palin makes her the first ever Republican Female Vice President nominee. Obama selected Joe Biden of Deleware a couple of weeks back and the irony is that John Mccain and iden are Homeboys. it will be interesting the topics and debates that are discussed and gone over in the upcoming week. alot of Groun breaking moments in this election year. alot of appeal and alot of choices to make. very compelling indeed.

best meal
what was the food and what did it say to my tummy?
stumble across a plate and it was a full presentation
and yet i only want parts that i deemed worthy of counquer
and so much is trash bin, though I'd never say what
and f by chance i was the one behind the meal then
i must think again what is allowed and what ain't to be
and what made this particular meal the best one might ask?
well it happen to be the last meal
which is like anything last you enjoyed

Labor day weekend
wishing everyone a safe and a wonderful long weekend. of course it is also the last weekend before back to school and the final running out to get clothes, school supplys,etc... is another thing to do. then you might be in a area of the country where this is the start of the last feel of Summer time before fall starts to settle in. and of course it ain't Labor day if i don't watch the Jerry Lewis telethon. this particular weekend is another reminder to support and remember our troops past and present. also to just rewind and reflect. over the years I have had quite a few memorable Labor day weekends, but they always made me think about getting back ready for school. it seems to go hand and hand. labor day weekend still has a unique feel to it and i plan on enjoying it.

happy Birthday Michael Jackson at 50
50 is a Milestone as are other numbers and when a Artist who has touched lives World-Wide for over 4 decades then you know it's something memorable. hard to believe this Man is turning 50 today. i say this as a fan of his music because i can't imagine a time without Michael Jackson's music in some sort of fashion not being around. his Influence is on pretty much everybody you see out here today. Usher, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown,Neyo amongest others have all been influenced by a Artist who Broke so many musical barriers back in the day. some folks might take Off the Wall and Thriller for granted but I don't. those albums were a strong part of my younger days as a kid. nothing like Michaelmania then or now. he gave a radio interview for Good morning america today and spoke of his happiest times, he spoke of his career and kept things in all in perspective. alot of Artists get called Icons, or Great or Genius but very, very, very few actually believe in there heart of hearts that they belong in the same sentence and words that are used to describe Michael Jackson. i go back to the Jackson five days and whatever he wants to do he has earned that right as a Artist. i will groove to his Box Set tonight.

Collge Football is Back
yes all the fans of the BCS and folks who root for a team, my team is the Michigan Woolverines and I'm hoping for a better start to this season than last year. we have a new coach in Rich Rodriquez and a new formation. so many teams are battling for the title this year. our arcy enemy Ohio State Buckeyes are trying to go back to the title game for the 3rd straight year. let's hope not. Florida wants to make a strong run as does USC, Georgia,West Virgina and others. College Football gets me so hype until them dumb BCS polls come out and then it messes it all up. so let the games begin and the Hesiman hype begin as well. will there be a sleeper team this year? i hope that one day that college football elects a Playoff system as to have 99 different bowls and about 91 of those Bowls don't Count. get your Popcorn, drinks, friends and bragging rights because it is on again.
Barack Obama becomes first Black Democratic candiate
last night was historical and it became official in Denver last night. Barack Obama became the first Black Democratic Candiate or any Black Candiate to reach this far ever in the history of Politics. now mind you, fredrick Dougless did recieve a vote under the Republican party, but this is the furthest any African-American has gone. the Whole Party is coming together real nicely. Bill and Hilary Clinton both gave great and Classy speeches. tonight Barack Obama gives his Speech at the football Stadium Investco where the Denver Broncos play. all eyes are gonna be on his speech tonight. Ground-Breaking and a message of Yes we Can! it is always Amazing to seeing something historical and this is great.

LPGA requiring golfers to speak english
talk about another form of racist ways? and why now put this into effect? I mean there are a 121 international players from 26 countries and 45 from south korea. like there can't be a interperter for the golfers? I mean Ichiro to Yao Ming have had interperters and it didn't effect there careers here in america. now they want to pass a law that says you gotta be able to speak and understand english or you will be suspended. I mean what kind of mess is this? many atheletes have come over here to work and I haven't ever heard any of this kind of mess before. sports is meant to bring cultures of People together not divide. i feel that if this wasn't into effect back when said athlete became able to play on a Pro Level here, then things should remain as is. it is loaded and wrong. if any of the Women who participate in the LPGA took this personal and bounced from there I bet cash money that this silly rule would go away as a golf ball that landed in the water.

9 year old Boy told his pitches too hard for league
Jericho Scott of New Haven, Conn was told he throws a baseball too hard at 40 mph which caused a opposing team to leave the field in a game. this is truly a shame. how soft is that? like somebody is too scared to go bat against his pitches? this Boy is being shafted because he has a gift I mean a talent should be given it's full shine, not told to go away. being told you are too good to pitch is just real tacky and real weak. i think if he keeps on working on his pitching and maintains his early seemingly special skills then one day He might make it all the way to the Big Leagues, but wouldn't it be a shame because of this youth league too afraid to play against him might cause the Kid to never want to pitch again? some people are just blessed with special skills and you have to acknowledge that. gonna be interesting how this shall all play itself out. lets hope the Kid gets another chance to pitch again because that would be a real strike out if he doesn't get his chance back on the mound again.

Democratic National Convention starts today
well tonight the Olympics of Politics starts and Barack Obama and the Democratic arty start off the Convention in Denver tonight. this can be real interesting with so much going on. the hype alone is gonna be huge to say the least. so many spins and twists going on. all of the big Democratic power players are gonna speak this week for Barack Obama and he will have his own speech later this week. His wife Michelle will speak tonight. alot of coverage around the clock and the polling numbers,etc... will have eye balls all on the screen. CNN, Fox, MSNBC and other networks are covering it all. this will probably easily be the biggest most covered and most money spent on any election and event associated with a election.alot of eyes are watching the Clintons and how things will play themselves out. Joe Bidden was selected as the Vice President and he can counter jab what John Mccain puts out there. so much action and drama awaits and the party is just getting started.

who at the door?
knock, knock who dat?
wonder what brought you from the grave?
is your shadow bringing your soul to my door?
or is it the gult of a face that has no where else
to turn forcing the issue?
and then through the eye hole I see
silence and what awaits on the other side?
can't speak,no signals and no reactions
and yet the expressions between the eyes
are that of a face that longs to see you

the Summer games come to a close
thsi year's games in Beijing China, were quite eventful and very memorable.who is gonna forget the 8 gold medals won by Michael Phelps? or the incredible running on the track by Usain Bolt who won 3 gold medals and shattered 3 records as well. the Redeem Men's USA Basketball Team won gold as did the Women's USa team. the USA Won the Most Medals, but China won the most Gold. still it has been a interesting and lively event. the Gymnastic teams and allegations of some of the Chinese women's and Men's athletes maybe being Underage?? so many twists and plots that this Olympics truly became must see tv. watched quite a bit of it and enjoyed what i saw. it's always great to see Other countrys winning and representing. it brings people together who might not otherwise check for one another like that. i always get hype for the Summer games and this was no different.

spoken words
meanings and reflections
dash in and dash out
echo like water with rocks
that splash and stay under
the sun and then the clouds
slowly have a mist of rain overhead
streams of a guitar are plucked
windows are smashing
poetry is on paper
and the salt and pepper
shake but the sugar stays
missing that counter that
is sweet and the medley
of words never fit the mind
that avoids a dictionary

and you stopped running
the moment you got out of the car
you stared into the fog like you had just
seen stars coming from the sky toward you
and little did you know that fame and glory
were next in line to you and as the traffic
stayed still your mind went back and forth
things became simple and easy and yet
the struggle of expression that tap danced
across your face said otherwise
and when your Ride got jacked
you were left in a sound of Car horns
where nobody knew you
you stared into the fog like you had just
seen stars coming from the sky toward you
and little did you know that fame and glory
were next in line to you and as the traffic

story going down that Rihanna is Broke?
and I wouldn't be shocked or surprised. the images and things you see on tv ain't always the whole truth or even half the truh. word is that her former manager said that at most she has 20 thousand. now you see her on videos, ringtones and her albums,etc... but these record companys have so many expenses and by the time everything is calculated out and whatnot the average act ain't got much left. take out Producer's expense, songwriters expense, PR, video and clothing, Promo tours, studio time,etc...so there ain't much money left. Rihanna does Modeling and tours, but she has to pay for those big budgeted videos,etc... it costs money to make money. i think it was tacky for her business to be aired out, but at the same time alot of younger ears and eyes need to know just how that industry works and most of what you see ain't real it is on Loan.this has happen all through out time in the industry and will keep on happening until folks start reading and understanding the business because the Music business is like a game of Monopoly, except they are the bank and no matter what you get they stay on the take. you never get out of debt with them.

like fresh clothes
in the manner of breathing and the purity of the scent
in the moment of the air that blows above head i dance
to the nature that is the smell sheds a a powerful light
toward my just being, and then I leap wherever I am
no static and no cling as I dash toward the ring
and with the freshness and warmth of a dryer
i feel so good and i listen to the tone and moment
to just enjoy the cleanness makes a smile appear on
my face as if sunshine and a out door close
hanger is awaiting

RIP to Gene Upshaw
NFL Union Rep Leader Gene Upshaw passed away last night with his wife and his 3 sons by his side. Upshaw was 63. on the football field he is One of the Greatest Offensive Guards Ever. he always held his own. he is a Hall of Famer and he was something else. He won two championships with the Oakland Raiders. he went on to be a Union Man and over the past few years he had his detractors, but when asked again could you find a better leader then most of those same cats were like Nope. He could talk the Owners language and the Comiss Lingo as well. no matter who was in charge of the NFL they had to deal with Gene Upshaw and he said what he had to say and did things his own way. it's great to hear a fellow peer of his like the Great Deacon Jones speak on Gene Upshaw on the field and also as a Union head. without Gene Upshaw the current salarys enjoyed by many today would be half of that. He was a Ground breaker. RIP.

before the turn of never
why did you head in that direction?
where must have the mind took you
that directions never so oepnly gave you?
when did being seen as a deer in headlights
seem to appeal to your intellect as a means
of gaining a advantage?
so the water continues and you press
on in search of making a choice
and not just based on speculation
but what is the meaning in the context of
the unforgiveable heart that is your bully?
what did you drink and what did it taste like?
what moment did you go all the way and then hit
the Stop sign again?
where must have the mind took you
that directions never so oepnly gave you?
when did being seen as a deer in headlights
seem to appeal to your intellect as a means
of gaining a advantage?
so the water continues and you press

so will Usain Bolt get the same coverage as Mchael Phelps?
all across airwaves and other blogs that talk about sports and sports networks there is the racial divide and how it wll all play out when it comes to accomplishments and what they mean in the bigger picture. Usain Bolt last night did something that neither Carl Lewis or Jesse Owens ever did and that is set his own record. He won in the 100 and 200 meter races and set records in the Process, but will he get the same type of acknowledgement as Michael Phelps? now to be fair to Phelps winning 8 gold medals in a row is a great accomplishment and also breaking records, but Bolt has to be given the same due because he is a history making athlete in his own who is forver changing the way we view and see the track racing. I mean he is as young as phelps and ain't even fully peaked and the future is scary. alot of folks are scared to talk about Race and how things are viewed,etc.. and I wonder if the same out pouring of Love and Juice given to Phelps is there for Bolt? we shall see. to me they should each make commericals together and be given the same proper due but the powers that be are funny about such things because of a thing called marketing, but Bolt took the light and turned it on with his running on the track.they are without peer at this here Olympics I know that much.they are the best things going at the games bar none.

Suit Case
many things were folded and some un-used
a expression to stuff and load up all that could be
and then moments of the journey that awaited
the weather man in my soul already had the outlook
of what went where and for what moment and no
i wasn't gonna get caught in the rain and no
i wasn't gonna sweat and I was gonna be prepared
for that rare day where any and everything awaits
above my head and could drop at a seconds notice
but what happens when you go to a place that
has no concept of temperture?
what happens when you go to a place
that the unknown of Mother Nature
is like spinning a wheel and who knows
where it will stop?
what then do you pack?
a expression to stuff and load up all that could be
and then moments of the journey that awaited
the weather man in my soul already had the outlook
of what went where and for what moment and no
i wasn't gonna get caught in the rain and no

Usain Bolt of Jamaica is the must see at the Olympics
hard to say this, but Michael Phelps is now Old News at the Olympics. Jamaica's own Usain Bolt is the Man of the moment. He is winning Gold and running things on the track. He appears headed to be the first Man since Carl lewis back in 1984 to completely dominate the track and field competition with winning in multi races. Bolt lives up to his name and in one of his most recent matches he was looking back over at his competition. that is scary. dude be running like the Road Runner and can still slow down on the brakes and peep you out. in truth I'm a fan of all of the Olympics Summer games, but Track and Field has always been my favorite events to watch. I admire it a great deal. back in the day I use to really get hyped when Carl Lewis or Edwin Moses would be winning and Dominating the events. Usain Bolt truly lives up to his name as he is a Bolt of speed on the track. I can't see nobody touching him.

in the sand
as the sounds of water tap near my feet
do i clap my hands together for a whole different
beat? and the waves of the sand echos a message
in a rhythm that only my heartbeat can appreciate
and then I withdraw my mind and tilt my head back
as if the world around me needed to just hear a bottle
and send a letter back across the pond and await
what to do next and yet as the birds circle around
my bread i feel like tossing them piece, by piece
and evening through dawn and back i just watch the sky
and feel it's shadow over me and I'm calm

MILESTONE
born to this day and blessed to be so welcomed
a moment of magic and interest that inspires
and sheds light on Loved ones and places gone by
not a moment too soon and not a second too late
as if reaching a goal in life and understanding it's
place, timing and eternal moment and how blessed
and fragile time and importance truly are
many months within days and nights
are a Gold that forever shine for us all

Elvis Presley anniversary of his death at Graceland
over the weekend despite bad weather and rain many, many fans came to Presley's graceland estate to pay there respects. there is even a doll of Elvis and Precellia Presley from there wedding day being sold at the Mansion. talk about Irony of August 16nth? Madonna was born on that day and Elvis died on that day and it is a trip at how when that date comes around I remember it and I have respect for both artists.my aunt back in the day sent a Post card from Graceland and I still remember how it looked and it was a place that you would never forget. hard to believe it's been over 30 years since his passing, but his fan base remains loyal and always pays there respect. Elvis was something else.
my wife loves saying the word Conk about Process hair
this trips me out because when my wife says Conk she sounds exactly like her mother which when she answers the telephone she already does, but this particualar word really makes her sound like her Moms. a Conk is a older expression for a Man especially African american Men who have striaghten there hair. now back in the day at the beauty shop we would call it a Perm, relaxer,,etc.. in the film Malcolm X before Malcolm X became who he would later become he had his hair straighten which was popular with quite a few african american men back in the day. it was smooth and wavy. much how Jackie Wilson, James brown, Percy Sledge amongest others wore it back in the day. the name Conk sounds so 60's to me and I be laughing real loud when My Wife says it. the tone she says it with just sounds like a older voice saying it in a so direct manner.i call it a Process. when a Cat is rocking a Doo Rag you had just had a Process done. funny is how one hair style can create so many names and how one name gets a funny but strange expression from me always.

darker days
when the thunder came over my roof
a sense of past evil eyes rose above me
like ghosts in the night that were making
a dash toward me and not with open arms
but with fists that were troubling and bothering
as i struggle to free the mental chains that awoke me
what did I discover but faces that echo the same fears
seeing a horse ride through the night with a tear
that shed long way out of sight and i stared
puzzled and lost as if I had lost my place in a book
which i didn't even write but had composed the
footnotes and subject matter from memory
and like a close shave with a razor and other things
stare within eye level in the mirror
the light went out and i wondered what
was the next part of tommorow??
a sense of past evil eyes rose above me

Michael Phelps did it 8 gold medals
time to congradulate Mark Spitz and acknowledge his greatness of winning 7 straight gold medals because that was incredible. but now Michael Phelps broke the record last night. in China the number 8 is said to be good luck and this being the month that is 8 and yesterday was the 16nth which if you combine 8+8 that might have been a sign of things to come. i watched it and enjoyed it and thought it was very compelling. I always look forward to historical events because while I can appreciate so many great accomplishments either before my time or when i was too young, it just is even more special to have said I saw. Michael Phelps is the Greatest Swimmer that I have seen in my lifetime and he is One of the Greatest all time olympic athletes as well that I have seen andI want to say Congradulations and stay motivated. moments like these are timeless and mean so much.

Madonna turns 50
Madonna the Pop Music Icon turns 50 years old today. incredible Milestone by a female artist that has set alot of trends and been doing things for well over 25 years now. Madonna was Britney Spears of her day, amongest others. from her Debut album to her recent album Madonna has kept hits. she has been acknowledged as a songwriter, Producer, stylist, concept artist and all around entertainer on stage and film along with Her Music videos which have been long part of the pop culture landscape. She has inspired and influenced so many acts in all parts of the world. She is One of the biggest Selling artists ever. still has high tours that gross alot of money. as a Kid back in the day I use to dig her.i still like some things, but i mainly just keep a ear out on her Projects. She is something else. ain't really been another female act like her since. hard to believe she is turning 50 today.but another Milestone for a act who always looked for another way to top herself.

the wrong directions
have you ever gotten directions for a food Product or a place to go to and only to be missing alot of the most important either ingrediants or the place to stop? it has happen to me so many times and you ask the person who is suppose to be given you those directions to be as accurate as they possibly can and you still end up with half the information. well you hope that changes in cyber space where you go to a spot and they should have all you need. pre internet if I was lost with something I would just call up a pizza place because they can lead you to anywhere practically. I know calling information depending on where you live might mean a charge. driving in the wrong area and ending up on a dead end road ain't a happening thing late into the night. those moments where we remember said events and we always say oh you wait until I get back in touch with so and so they gonna hear it from me and then if you luck up and find your place or the ingrediant for said meal then all is forgiven until you end up with a tummy ach or get a traffic ticket for making a U turn.

tropical thunder film with Blackface
i saw Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr and Ben stiller on 106 and park yesterday and of course the ads for Tropical thunder came out and Robert Downey is rocking BlackFace which offends me and other African-americans. hollywood lives for this kind of thing and always has. from the days of DW Griffth's "Birth of a Nation" back in 1916 to this latest film. i mean Hollywood has always been funny time toward Black People in film,etc.... this type of thing merits a Boycott but who is gonna boycott this? I mean this kind of thing is green lighted in Hollywood where no Black Person to this day can green light a film. I don't find anything funny about a white actor wearing Black face. it feels more like 1908 than 2008. we do have a Black Man running for president by the way and how does this look? what is more insulting is that nobody from BET's 106 and Park called Ben Stiller out the film-director of the movie out or Robert Downey who had the Black Face on. i avoid these films and i cringe at the writing and then hearing the laughter that doesn't even question the imagery on screen.

did you sleep?
how many sheeps did you count?
how many turns and twists did you take?
in the night as dreams and drama what overcame
your soul as you reached for a cover?
what did the breeze mean after 2 in the morning?
as the rain entered upon the window
i quickly woke up and then turned over
and got back to a world that didn't have a ending
until my alarm clock went off and yet I don't have one
but the rhythm of time and numbers comes to me
and I rise up and settle in on a new day
and the next time I will sleep and explore
new territory and life sometimes is just a
dream away

spain mocking China at the basketball Olympics
this is very sad and scary. seeing the Spain Men's basketball team including LA Laker Player Pau Gasol Mocking the China team with " Slant eyes" toward the camera is very disturbing. as NBA SuperStar Jason Kidd told Yahoo sports that if the american team did that they would be tossed ASAP away from the games, but the double standards here are just sickening. a couple of the Spain Players are sorry about it including Gasol, but some of them are defending the Photo and calling it a good will gesture,etc.. I want to know what is good about a picture of another culture mocking another one? it just goes to show that hate no matter what the event or the year is always in full swing and is scary and this is on a national grand scale and level. i would think that the NBA will discipline Players from the Spain team that play for NBA teams. a message has to be sent that this kind of mess will not be tolerated and this is very insulting. it really upsets me at how insensitive folks can be. everybody is entitled to there bias, but this is out in the open and what does this mean?

new moments
yesterday was a day i elect to forget
today is a day i want to enjoy and expand
but come tommorow i shall have an
answer for what made the week
hit and miss but with so much cloudy
in betweens, you seem to know what i mean
have you experienced words and no depth
and then begged for another time
to word on what was going through your mind
in the particular rewind
fast forward and i'm still not in full play
but given another chance I will have
better memorys from here on out

Michael Phelps going for Gold Medal history
Michael Phelps is trying to pass Mark Spitz's record of 7 straight Gold Medals. right now Michael Phelps is tied with Mark Spitz and Carl Lewis with 9 gold Medals. not a bad list to be associated with at this time and point. Michael Phelps is entering that Tiger Woods level of interest when there is a chance to win another big time Prize. very few athletes get your attention on that level but Michael Phelps is fast getting to that point. He has already won 3 Medals in this olympics already and he has a chance to keep on rolling. i enjoy watching the Olympic games and there is always somebody who truly captures your imagination and wins on the biggest stage and that is what Winners do.I will be watching tonight to see what He does. the scary part is that he has had the toughest part of the Swimming contest already. He broke his own record. He is having an Incredible run.

the Neigbor's dog
now here is something we can all relate to, a dog from a Neighbor laves there presents all in your yard and you are having to watch where you walk,etc... this is truly a tough thing to remember upon walking and thinking about all the cleaning up you do for your own dog. so when a dog enters your area and nobody takes care of the presents you are really hot. now I might not have paid it too much mine because the weather was bad, but i had to tap dance around the obvious spots like I was preparing for "Singing in the Rain" rehearsal or something. it wasn't a pleasent sight and I wanted to find the neighbor but they were long gone by the time I had to take my dog out. i ike to think that people teach and follow a clean vibe with there pets but you'd be in for a rude awakening. i think some folks need to take care of there dogs and other pets from leaving unwanted gifts every where.

Bernie Mack and Isaac hayes both died this weekend
talk about a 1-2 combination that knocked me out? death is never easy to take be it family, friends or someone that you pay attention to,etc... yesterday hearing that Bernie Mack the Comedian had died at only age 50 truly caught me off guard. I knew he was sick but didn't know how serious. back in the early 90's I use to watch Bernie Mack rock the stage on the Old Def Comedy Jam on HBO. He truly had a Pressence and He would crack your sides up. He was a straight up cat and said what he felt and what moved him. just recently he did a routine at a charity for Presidential Nominee Barack Obama a fellow Chicago Native and in true B Mack Fashion he came uncut and did his thing. he made movies had his own successful TV show which lasted 5 years on the fox network. He also was on the Kings of Comedy tour which was very successful. He truly made a impression. He was something else.
Isaac Hayes Oscar, grammy Winner and a soulful Talent that as a Songwriter penned alot of tracks on the Stax label. He wrote for Sam and Dave and the Emotions amongest others back in the day. a very strong distinctive deep voice that earned him a Oscar for the Original score and writing for the "Shaft" soundtrack. He made films such as "truck turner" did tv shows such as the rockford files and later in his career to a whole new generation he was known as Chef on the hit show South Park. also known for his Scientology Beliefs. the Man was something else as a Artist and he is Underrated to me because his arrangements, Productions and his depth hasn't gotten it's full just due. He was 65.
RIP to two Soulful brothers who touched many lives.

Beyonce and the Loreal skin whitened controversy
this always seems to happen to african american celebritys on magazines in some form or fashion. back in the day when time Magazine darken OJ Simpson's LAPD Mug shot back in 1994 and over the years this kind of thing has aways happen and now Beyonce is the latest racial victim of a Magazine touching up the picture. Loreal the hair Product Company and known world-wide has Beyonce as a Spokesperson recently had her skin Whitened in a AD. it's a shame that this kind of mess gets allowed and nobody boycotts or protest these companys pulling the same skin tone racist tactics that has been going on for many, many, many years. Beyonce is a naturally Beautiful Woman from the get go what needs to be re-touched up or Photo shopped? this is clearly targeted at Black folks in the Media. Beyonce isn't dark at all, she has a wonderful skin tone but that wasn't good enough for Loreal. Beyonce is a International Known Musical and all around Entertainer. Music, films, tv, countless awards and Peroformances,etc... this didn't need to go down at all.

well it's Gold medal time the Olympics offically starts
and the big question is does the Medal mean as much in general? in times of the past it carried a whole lot of weight. jesse Owens back in 1936 winning Godl Medals in the face of Hate with Adolf Hitler watching on. and the 1980 Men's Hockey team which did the impossible and won it all. now what does it mean in 2008? the Men's dream team basketball team has alot riding on this. Kobe Bryant already got a huge standing ovation and expectations are huge huge. same goes in all the games. however word is that China is really wanting to dominate. the USA are underdogs in these games and will the hunger come out? the events truly get me hyped and I do watch and of course it is all about the Gold. bronze and Silver are good but the standard is the Gold. but we shall see. the anthems, lighting of the torch,etc.. is always must see.the games always have a World feel and political theme. so what will become of the 2008 games? time will tell but it is off to a cool start.

have you seen it?
what is the thing you crave?
what is the motivation to make you
reach and want to do anything for that special
thing?
if you had it would you ever part with it?
the "it" you long to gather and forever cherish
might just be a thing of the moment and how many
times did said "it" become yesterday's news and ready
to be throw into the dumpster with the other trash?
in many moons as I watched above I wished for this and that
but what did it really do for me in reality?
never felt the sentiment of that again and my goals
became more of value than of want

Brett Favre now a New York Jet
well after the the soap opera that is the Green Bay Packers and Quarterback Brett Favre the soap drama has finally ended. the Packers traded Favre to the New York Jets. it is big news everywhere. for New York it is making some folks talk about Joe Namith in the terms of bringing back the Jets to greatness again. the Packers what will Aaron Rogers do and now he is the man? what will become of this? hard to believe that Number 4 will no longer line up under center for the Green bay packers. hard to see Favre in a different uniform. all the jets flying and in and out of places and press conferences,etc... what will this do for Favre's Legacy? now Favre is over in the more stronger AFC Conference and the road to a Super Bowl is even that much harder but knowing Brett Favre he loves to prove people wrong.i feel this is gonna be one sided. I believe you never trade a SuperStar unless they can't walk pretty much and are way below par.I respect and Admire Favre until he goes up against my Buffalo Bills.

you was laughing
when i said a frying pan had landed
it brought out a roar, when i said i burnt
this meal the laughter got even louder
when i felt bad and couldn't get my mind
straight the attitude was quit playin
when I lost some money and couldn't
remember where it was then I was a joke
but the day I got everything all back
and when things started to come into
focus the humor was on who???

Paris Hilton mocks Mccain and Obama
Paris Hilton of course had ghost writers come up with the answer back video footage that comesback at the John Mccain ad that Originally compared Barack Obama with both Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Mccain was saying that Obama was famous for being Famous but didn't have any real talent to be where he was. that is the message of the video. well Paris Hilton answers back in the video by saying she is young, rich and is thinking about taking Singer Rhianna as a running mate for Vice President. it is a funny response and cracked me up. in this cross generations attack it is so funny how this is a play on the dozens a old school routine where back in the day we called it snapping or Jonesing on others. like Yo Mama jokes. Paris Hilton showed a good sense of humor and she came back on the attack but in a cool way. when Politicans throw out there commericals and ads it is no different than what you see on wrestling and all the dissing is funny. just like a good ole fashion school yard debate.

you need manners
you need to respect and obey
forget about a video game
you need to understand your place
you need to act like you are about something
you need to keep your whole being clean
if you ain't got no soap, then no worrys
it's on me, because your soul needs a cleaning
as well, it ain't too swell to have your kids
talking all kinds of crazy at cha
when did timeout mean you couldn't
tell them what time it was?
what happen to control?
where is your voice and who runs the ship?

US House of Representatives say sorry for Slavery
now what? 300-400 years of free labor how do you every fully re-pay the social and injustices of African-Americans? what is the solution? Presidential Canidate Barack Obama doesn't believe in reperations but believes in school funding, and other things. 1865 was the year Slavery ended but 1868 is the year Black folks became called Citizens of the USA because of the 14nth Amendement. that is only a 140 years ago which is still. back in 1965 voting rights, and bill of rights were passed. we are still talking about so much freshness here it ain't even funny. when people ever ask why some black folks feel this way or hold on to slavery and question America well the facts speak for themselves and you can't possible call things fair when a Group of People who lost native tongue, name and idenity and taught a whole set of different rules and mind set question what is up. between school, housing, economics,etc... the gap is huge. an apology is long, long, long, long overdue but there is a whole world of people who don't understand the long term impact and effect of Slavery and believe me if something was done to not only educate but also to challenge things then it would create a whole dfferent perspective about the struggle and it would educate so many who only see Black faces, images,etc... through the Media and in entertainment. so this is a long overdue step but what next? how do you create a level playing field that speaks to generations in the future and also educate about a ugly pass that still has lingering side effects and has left things un-equal and un-balanced?

Batman aka Dark knight can it catch Titanic?
this latest Batman Movie is running things at the box office which is the under statement of the summer and year for that matter. now titanic ran things a decade ago grossing worldwide a billion dollars. 600 plus million here. but this Batman dark knight film staring the late Heath Ledger is is huge. can it catch titanic? I don't quite think so for a few factors, ticket prices are higher, internet buzz and downloading is bound to eat into the Profits of Dark Knight and most films don't last for three months as titanic did. but having said all of that wouldn't it be something if it did? I mean on the real aside from a few films, the box office on a whole is pretty dead. most films nowadays are good or seen as great if they make 100 to 150 million. so when you have a film that is seeing almost 400 million dollars in only 20 days then your jaw has to drop to the floor. i still haven't seen the film yet, but i plan on catching it on dvd at home unless i get motivated to check it out directly. theaters have been packed non stop and that is still amazing especially now but then again there is always a film or something that truly captures the imagination which is what it is all about.

a wonderful moment that says you are
something special to so many
many memorys and birthdays

in a life of so many that has meant
a great deal for so many that you

Barack Obama and the ludacris song controversy
what a mess for barack Obama with this latest mess where Rapper Ludacris wrote that song that dissed John Mccain and Hilary Clinton and also George W Bush and Jesse Jackson. timing is everything and this ain't a good look for Obama. now lets be real, Bill O'reilly and all the folks on the Right are gonna say this is why we don't think he is electable. right wing extreme is gonna speak out on Barack because of this song and the assocation of Obama and Luda. artists all the time say what they want and feel and what is the agenda again? you gotta understand timing. if and when Obama wins then you can drop whatever song you want, but not this right now. I mean there are alot of reasons why folks don't want to see a Black Man in the Whitehouse and please don't fuel the fire over a already burning grill.think I'm lying? believe Obama can't even look cross-eyed at this time and point because everything that he does and is involved with or associated with is being watched, documented and taken directly. whatever you do keep folks cool and direct and don't put nothing out there that will make some folks who already look at you sideways go all the way full tilt against you.

have a talk
sat and prayed yesterday
saw cloudys and sky above me
and my eyes couldn't refrain from
the water that overcame my soul
and like emotion that had been
hiding under a tent to avoid
the outer sounds and sights
once it was removed i allowed
my spirit to become one and the same
with a higher calling and voice
minutes,moments, seconds and silence
all echo at me as one
through the many rewinds and fast forwards of life
there are times when i pause and stay in play
not freeze but in tone with a message that guides
my very being
saw cloudys and sky above me
and my eyes couldn't refrain from
the water that overcame my soul
and like emotion that had been
hiding under a tent to avoid
the outer sounds and sights
once it was removed i allowed

Brett Favre paid 20-25 million to not work?
NFL Quaterback Great Brett Favre is being told by the Green Bay Packers to stay retired and to agree to take 20-25 million and not doing anything. how nice would that be if at your job you were paid a lifetime amount of money to not do anything else. would you take the money and refuse any other job offer or would go back to work elsewhere? Brett Favre is in a rare situation. the average worker in the work force isn't gonna be given such a option. what would it take to just walk away and not to look back? the whole Brett Favre is playing out like one big ole soap opera with no end in sight. so much at work here. now Brett Favre still easily could play 3-4 more years but will he want to try it again or will he take the money and leave? what would you do?

August 1rst
today has come, ain't much summer left
not much but there is still sunshine
memorys of getting ready to go back to school
thinking about lives that mean so much to me
having birth's this particular month
reflecting on lives that meant so much to me
leaving this journey and touching the soul
upon dreams and thoughts
this time of the year takes me back
to getting clothes, getting a mind set
to do something and yet alot of it
feels like yesterday which was just
a few short minutes ago and still
the smell of August brings back
a clock of reminders that never have
truly left me
not much but there is still sunshine
memorys of getting ready to go back to school
thinking about lives that mean so much to me

Michael Jackson is my artist of the month
every Month I have a artist focus and this Month I select Michael Jackson. He turns 50 on August 29ntth and He is the King of Pop . He is a Musical genius who struck gold back in 1969 on the Jackson five's "I want you back" and all the way through now Michael Jackson has influenced and Inspired so many. He changed the culture of Pop Music twice. first as a Member of the jackson five and then as a Adult SuperStar who made two classic Albums that rank with the best of the best in "Off the Wall and the World's biggest solo album ever Thriller. not only as a Singer, Songwriter, arranger, producer, stage peformer all around entertainer. he had that "IT" that hasn't been seen before or since. Motown 25 was a turning point for MJ. He changed the rules of Popular Music forever back on that night back in 1983. forget all the personal and the media mess this Man is a Musical Genius who is timeless. He is a Mountrushmore type of talent. I hope he comes back to show folks one more time. i have all of his Music and books on him and the whole Jacksons. without Michael Jackson I wouldn't even like Music as much as I do. His music has touched all cultures,Races, backgrounds and People all around the world. he is a trial-blazer of so much in Entertainment.
