torn paper

your letter and words start with how come?

and ends with Love but in between all of that

the why didn't you and the how could you

elements and words come crashing all the way

through like a brick through broken glass

nowhere to hide the cash stash and dare i come

to the conversation with using bad manners

and did i read it all or was it all a dream?

could your turn your letter over to the backside

and say goodbye before you say all i did wrong?
no way to edit or to retract but the meanings
and sentiments can never be subtracted

the week in sports

where do i start?

baseball news Manny Ramerez got tradeded today from the Boston red Sox's to the LA Dodgers. hard to believe that Manny won't be playing for Boston anymore. I can't stand the red sox's and this make it even better for my Yankees. without Manny I doubt the Red Sox's win those world series's. He is a Money player.

Ken Griffey traded to the Chicago whitesox's. i hope he still has something left. he is one of the Greatest Players ever and this is his best chance at maybe winning a ring.

in Basketball News ex NBA Ref Tim Donaghy got 15 months for betting on basketball games and he still didn't get half the media attention that Michael Vick got? I wonder why? I believe there is more corruption going on with the Nba and this is just the tip of the iceburg. wait and see.

Ron Artest got traded to the Houston Rockets and will him and Yao Ming and Tracy Mcgrady turn it into something special? time will tell.

NFL News the Brett Favre watch continues. that is all ESPN talks about and what will happen. i say let that Man have his own choice he has earned it. Green Bay is tripping with holding up him from wanting to leave.

in speed

the way i run and glance over my shadow

and i don't feel Protected and yet I ain't rejected

like a full burst of movement and I need to catch

my breath as I just ran out of steam

must have sworn i was in the middle of a dream

moments when I sigh and think back to yesterday

sweating and sleepless and wide awake

but still in the opening I'm sleeping

and how did I arrive to this day as I arrived

to this Earth?

minutes,seconds, hours,days nights

all have there own timer

LA EarthQuake

yesterday the city of Los Angeless,CA had a minor Earthquake which made a mini dent and changed the flow of things. I was watching Judge Judy on tv and saw the footage of it and thought wow nobody saw or felt that coming. that is the reality of life and things like that can go pop at any moments time or notice. when EarthQuakes, Hurricances or any other natural disaster forthcomes you can never be fully prepared mentally or physically. how do you prepare for enough water? clothing? and backup plans,etc... being in a bad weather situation where you don't know how much time you have to make choices. being in a situation where ever second counts and the effect of the matter could last seconds or it could go on and on. there is always a sentiment felt when nature becomes unnatural and you never know what the message means or is. prayers and thoughts always go out.

you need the rain

you need the day to laugh with rain

you need a sprinkle of showers to make you

feel and smell the clear, clear nature of air

you need to feel a breeze and wind that reflects

your reflection through a mirror while you mask

yourself with a umbrella and hide underneath it all

you need the puddles to walk through and hear the

rhythms to make sure you don't step over yourself

it is a Groove that keeps both feet in a steady beat

and tommorow a forecast awaits a whole

temperture that may matter or may cloud your

sky and dry your eye

Snickers bar ad pulled with Mr T Offends Gay People

so the Newest snickers candy bar ad in the UK, was pulled today. in the commerical a guy is fast walking down the street and MR T pulls up in a tank truck and sees how he is walking and tells him to Man up. the commerical got pulled. some gay rights groups were upset by the ad. i can see how this ad might offend some Gay folks. i also see where this was done in a lite nature. a Snickers Bar commerical ain't suppose to be offensive but in this day and age of Political Correctness anything can set some folks off. the first thing that comes to mind is wow Mr T has a commerical? and overseas video at that. these type of things are very touchy but should be spoken on. where a commerical and a social subject collide head on.

when you called

all the cool in the world came to light

High Five from ear to ear because the expressions

of soul and depth were felt right away

any other day acting and being superficial

might make for a reality show and atttiude

but the voice on the other end brought the down home

vibe that often leaves my hand like money going out

for rent, food and overall shelter

when the human voice can make you appreciate

the natural energy and Light around you then it shows

what seven special numbers and a click can do for you

when you stare in space

what went through our minds as we intercept

one another's eyes? what made you look as if you'd

felt the pressence of a Ghost that questioned your current

state of being and word play?

rain and sunshine all played a role into this story

and neither one of us was wet or dry, as the sentiments

poured and memorys were playing out like strings

harmonys of the heart and soul left a loud pumping

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and as the shadow disappeared so did that visual

you swore you had seen and there was a empty

breeze that went through and the moment and city

was ghostly

Celebritys selling pictures of there babys

this is a very interesting thing going on in Hollywood where the rich and famous agree to sell pictures of there new borns and cash in on it. now quite a few celebritys donate the money to charity but it got me wondering does everything in Hollywood come with a Price or what? i mean is there no Privacy or being low key left? recently Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sold pictures of there babys for a whole lot of money which went to charity. i guess this is better than having a stalking camera man snapping pictures and given them directly to the star magazine or the national enquier,etc... but when a Celebrity asks for Privacy and wants things to be granted and then allows pictures and things inside there world then they have given up something don't you think? I just wonder what it really means to sell pictures of your family like that. i guess i question the motives. but everybody and everything has a price tag.

Led Zepplin won't be joining up with Guitar Hero

so many acts are allowing there imagery and Music to be associated with Guitar hero including recently the Jimi Hendrix estate which granted permission with the music and his likeness, but One famous band Led Zepplin has said no thank you and doesn't want be turned into a game and also doesn't need the Money. with all things technilogy alot of acts are allowing themselves to adapt to the ever changing times of where technilogy is creating other outlets and this form of technilogy is also quite profitable to acts who might not have seen the added money coming from such a business, on the other hand Guitar Hero is a game and so many younger kids aren't playing on real instruments per se. a catch 22.but it is always interesting to see a veteren act say no to what is happening.of course I do wonder if in time will Led Zepplin change there minds? you know Money talks and the Stairway is Open eventually for a Profit.

Guilt

make the mind question actions of the time and moment

beware like the big bad dog across the fence that roars

and growls at you as if you have stepped across a line

what expressing zooms across your face in a flash?

seeing things within view that tug at you as you glance

into the sky as if a answer was gonna respond

sight and directly

do you feel innocence awaits you

once you clean your hands and therefore

your mind?

will pain tap dance around you or will you

feel ill with knowing what you did

or can you turn it all around and

find a Smile?

like so many doors what will you

choose and is there another chance

that shall welcome you back?

going to Barnes and Nobles looking to read

it's funny going to barnes and nobles is always a cool expeirence and I find myself scooping out so many sections of the place and there is always something new to find and explore though I've been known to go there up to 3-4 times a month. along the way I stop by and get something to drink or eat in there cafe spot. magazine reading is a always a must and just checking out the bin section that have books up to 75% off. i find myself chilling alongside the wall with music on and just reading away. sometimes I will buy that book, but more often than not I just want to be in that moment and read it and then bounce. learning about People, places, things and events.doing Price checks and finding out what might be a good price for a particular book. the many quotes that have caught my attetion over the years by going to Barnes and Nobles is still quite interesting to say the least. places like barnes and nobles never go out of style. i always look for more to read.

CNN Black in America

CNN these past couple of nights have decided to do a special on Black People in America and the contrast of yesterday, today and tommorow. the show breaks things down between Black females, Black Males and Black children. also touches on multi racial kids and the politics faced. all of this is happening with a black canidate running for President Barack Obama. this show deals with the various issues that impacts Black People in america and also education, lifestyle and various choices. the show deals with skin tone and the preceptions that are still felt in 2008. this is one of the view shows that is talking about Race and what is going on now. i always like to hear how folks are gonna speak on the issues and facts and the economics and the other details that are there. any show that gets the nation discussing Race and the history of America where Black People are concearned. this documentary covers a wide base and it hits home for me. a must see.

michael savage is a Idiot bum, another talk show turkey

another one of those talk radio show shock jocks at it again in the Rush Lumbaugh, Don Imus and others class. add Michael Savage to the list with his comments about kids with Autism. he said that kids with Autism are Brats with Bad Parents. i wonder what life is like being a perfect human being perhaps MR. Savage care to address that and more? so many clowns get jobs on radio to say and put out anything to generate buzz one way or the other. when you deal with kids with Autism or know people with it, then you realize it is a serious condition and it ain't because a Kid is a Brat or that the parents aren't doing there jobs. but this kind of nonsense gets put out there and this clown is given a bigger platform to vent over something that I doubt seriously he has had directly impact him. Autism is a Serious condition and needs to be treated as such. these kind of remarks are hurtful and show how out of touch this clown truly is.

what to do with your cash?

are you the kind of person who avoids going to the bank? do you only go to the bank for money orders or a selective service? do you believe in getting certificates, or bonds?? or are you the person who boxes the loot into a box under your bed or bury your loot in the ground? do you like to see your money in a roll all bundled up? I'm not talking about spending but just the ways you elect to have your money grow or stay with you. i really try to avoid banks because the interest ain't much to speak on unless you happen to get with a bank that is a union or something. invest in stocks and thing is always a cool alternative but what will hit in this day and time in this current market? the unknown is always worth a chance if you got that drive and dare from within.

tired of Danica patrick's antics

now first and foremost Danica Patrick is a good race car driver and she looks good, but the diva behavior is so tiring. the other day at the mid ohio sports car course she got into it with the only other female race driver Milka duno (who is a foxy chick by the way) but unlike in the past when Patrick would bully some of the male drivers, Duno wasn't having it. she saw Patrick come at her and then she tossed a towel toward Patrick's face and then bounced. they exchanged words and it was a trip. I hope that this doesn't make race car driving into wrestling. i mean seeing two nice looking chicks going at it on a warm summer day talk about ratings going up? Danica Patrick on ESPN's Espy's was visable ticked off when she didn't win a award that she was nominated in.i feel that if a Male Athlete is called out for acting like a Diva then it's only fitting it happens to a female one as well. why the double standard? Patrick has won a race which is impressive, but she ain't above being called out when she is tripping. that was a sight to see when she was confronted at the pit stop.

a full plate

don't part from the table without feeling full

don't ask for more when you ain't made it half way

through, don't waste any extra portions if you are

mentally broke and don't have the undestanding

of worth, feel the responsibility and meaning

that a meal makes you win and leads to gain

be a champion and feed your mind

ask to be a winner and be ahead of the curve

but a empty belly will bring you down

and that drive to gather what you need

may be lost as well

feel the extra surge and be full

dark knight Batman movie sets a record

the newest installment in the Batman series made a whopping 155 million dollars over the weekend. the film has alot of hype and buzz but the main factor is the late Heath Ledger in a role as the Joker that truly has the buzz. Ledger passed away in Jaunuary over a accidental overdose and was only 28. his performance in this film has had some critics recalling the early 70's classic " a Clock work called orange". this is the biggest Batman film in ages and it stomped all over the competition this particular weekend. the film cost a 185 to make and this film will make that back and show a real profit at this rate in the next 2-3 weeks. finally a film out in summer that sizzles at the box office and has much buzz. word of mouth on the film has been thump ups and must see vibe. i might even have to check it out though these prices at the box office at no joke but then again there aren't many films I care to go see nowadays because most are so predictable but this one looks tight.

corruption on your yahoo account or other account

this kind of mess hardly to never happens to me,but over the past couple of days some turkey done messed up or messed in my account and made it difficult for me to write folks back in my own account. i mean what is this all about? bad enough to just have to read stuff but going without the tools to write back is frustrating. it's like having a stamp on your envelope and the letter is sealed airtight and some fool still opens up your mail and toys with it and you can't get it sent out. i reported this mess and still ain't really got a proper set of action taken care of. i mean i just have to shake my head. this happens on cyberspace and computers do have folks who send virus and other things to slow down your computer,etc... but i was just caught all off guard with this situation.i hope this matter gets taken care of because it is so frustrating to not be able to write back or respond like i enjoy doing. those small things as hitting the reply button now are like taking first steps in a whole different vibe.

dealing with a cold this time of the year

funny but the universe didn't get the memo I never asked for a sore throat or a cold this time of the year. never ever ready for a cold, but especially in the summer, but still I can eat, drink and relax but it is there in places nevertheless. of course with sweating and the warmth coming through then I feel a bit better. really in the Summer time I just sweat it out and keep on moving. i actually learned that from a cousin of mine. dress as warm as possible when it is Summer and allow the heat to clear up your breathing.i just get some vicks, avoid cough drops because it is like eating candy and just eat as much regular food as possible and keep on doing usual activitys if you can. keep things simple but as long as you can eat then don't change a thing.

the sad reality of the James Brown Auction

this is really a sad reality. the auction sold alot of his items and it didn't make what was expected though alot of people came out for it,but the real saddness to me is the actually selling of his Product. I mean I was hoping that somebody who is a fan or somebody that can truly appreciate what he meant could Properly return the the items that are as much a part of his Legacy. of course the family issues where Money comes into play once a loved one has died is there and this is a Mess. somehow the Godfather of Soul deserved to be better well preserved to me. how do you auction off his capes,shoes,etc... and just treat it as another auction? I mean somehow you'd expect folks who were close to James Brown or fans of his work to chip in and keep the Property on the Man's Estate where it truly belongs or in a special place to truly be appreciated.

ink on a paper

you wrote as if the urgency from your hand

to the paper was taken your mind away and you

had to hurry up and send a message, but didn't

care about the right spellings and didn't care about

accuracy, many words were composed

but no clear reasoning is ever established

as the ink tap dances all over the paper

correction are screamning out at me

as I Proof read and want to print my

own take on the actual paper

but then it occurs to me

a Pencil could have done the same

exact thing

house morgages how is it going?

in this day and time with costs coming left and right how is your house morgages payments going at this time? the interest rates and the bank loans ain't exactly being offered with open arms. so many people across the nation are facing a struggling ecnomy and with some places dealing with job cuts,etc... it is a difficult time. the outline is to get a deal and eventually get some money toward the property. now it depends on how long you are paying your morgage and where you eventually want to further invest in. condos have good investments and possible lower interest. a House can depend on location and where you want to be in the long run. so many decisions but how far can you stretch the dollar in this day and time? also do you want to upgrade your property and outer elements to make it more attractive or will you just stick to the basics? so much goes in and out of the house and the Questions just start to begin.

cozy and laxin

the moment as the breeze came on by

like a long lost friend who happen to be

around the way to just say what's up?

like sippin on some strawberry Lemonade

and the swing of wind intercepts the heat

that was breathing on my back

where do i surf to find shade

and stay lazy during this time?

as the tree shakes and the green grass

is missing shadow, nothing else seems to

matter,

for this vision I only want to be

Chillin and feeling the rays of

the Warmth that surrounds me

and nothing wrong with doing

nothing at all

what happen to all the summer box office films?

yeah Iron Man with Robert Downey did huge business and Probably the standard film for the late spring/early summer then you got the hype for harrison ford and Indiana Jones, then you have Sex in the city with Sarah Jessica Parker and Company and then lastly Will Smith's "hancock. but on a whole where is that Summer surprise or those left and right monster films at? also the local theaters ain't playing if your film is going Wood then they are gonna Pull it. Summer has always been the time of the year to venture off to the movie theater and spend money,etc.... nowadays rentals from Net flex,blockbuster,etc... are doing business and getting the films fairly quickly. the movies need to step up there game basically to draw some real interest again to me.summer is half way over and only a handful of films have lived up to the hype.

Major League Baseball All star game and Yankee stadium

tonight is the all Star game and the last one ever at Yankee Stadium which is gonna be remembered regardless of the outcome of the game itself. the game has changed so much with so many younger Stars and SuperStars coming on through. the Yankees Have Alex Rodriquez and MR.Yankee Himself Derek Jeter. Mariano Riveria the King of Saves is also on board. New York City is very hyped for this game. no matter where you stand on baseball this particular time of the year always hits home and always has for me. alot of Great players and alot of interesting storys going on in baseball. it's cool to see the parade of all stars and the people of the city getting pumped up for the big game.

the end of this version of Yankee Stadium. the Stadium that babe Ruth Built amongest other Yankee Greats. this is the last Offical All Star game at Yankee Stadium. this is a farewell tour of sorts. Hot Dogs, apple Pie, Chevys, and so many themes that represent this time of the year. i have personal feeling about what I'm seeing in baseball this season, but tonight I want to reflect on New York and the All Stars that were picked and hope this game has some drama. well I know Madonna is suppose to be among the crowd so there is some drama Maybe? all jokes aside I hpe the game is a must see and I wish this game didn't decide who gets homefield advantage in the World series. the American League has dominated this series over the past decade and change. I remember back in the day when the National League were always winning. this is the 79nth all Star Game.

Bernie Mac sets off Obama fundraiser

so over the weekend in chicago where democractic presidential canidate Barack Obama had a fundrasing party which turned into a roast once comedian Bernie Mac set the joint off with his brand of humor and jokes. you ain't never gonna mistake Mac with fellow comedian Sinbad. you know where Bernie Mac is gonna go when he speaks so i don't want to hear about folks being offended or shocked. i can't stand the Pc police. Political Correctness is just so tiring. you need to stick to what you say and mean. chances are if you are gonna have a comedian on a show then you know somebody is bound to get offended, i want a real roast where folks talk like how they are meant to. jokes can go so many ways, but next time you have a party and think somebody might not be the audience you are trying to reach cup of tea then you gotta have a plan B.Bernie Mac was funny to me at the event, but i also say you gotta know your audience.etc...

a man with a smile

in these days and times what a expression says

can have a lasting impact for a whole day

never saw the full face even with the web cam running

never envsioned the smirk that appeared to applaud

a Mean streak and a side of breaking down into tears

never felt so vulnerable with the stare of one's own shadow

tap dancing and grabbing toward the other arm that was

asleep over in the corner

but as soon as the sun came through the screen and the blue of

the sky hide yesterday's inner tears the outer layer of warmth

was a blanket of peace that everything else in between

could for a moment share a glow

Summer Olympics let the hype begin

now the pre trials and the big countdown begins to see where each country will do in the quest for gold and the other top awards. i watched the Dream Team special the other night and it had Service men in the locker room talking about the importance of the gold medal and what it meant winning it for your country. it was some powerful stuff to say the least. America truly wants to regain there dominance again in all events. there are so many great athletes all around the world. of course the doubters question athletes in all sporting events because of questions about Performance enhancement drugs, steriods,etc... or the suspect judging of judges and refs. still with all the possible controverseys and other things the games are always interesting and can keep you tune in if you are a fan. the Summer Olympics are the ones i really get into between them and the Winter games but I have always been a fan. looking forward to next month.

Broken Glass

no matter how i try I can't tie the same as yesterday

the other night I heard a voice say that no tommorow

is granted and is anymore precise than the moment of now

and so many whispers of words and sentiments creep in

like a merry go round that screams to be a Spin

what in the world is now the most treasured thing?

dedicate a word of encourgement and up-side

but so many words and cliches feel like a ride

and never knowing what is in store can lead

me to feel like Casper the ghost and be out of

Sight

Jesse Jackson and Barack Obama the message

what was Rev Jesse Jackson thinking at what he said about democratic nominee Barack Obama? Jackson said that Obama was talking down to black folks and that a part of his manhood needed to be cut. Jesse Jackson comes across envious and not able to accept the way Obama carrys and presents himself. now having said all of that Jesse Jackson paved the way for Barack Obama and he deserves his due as a leader of civil rights and his marching and being a leader and speaking and rallying. but this is Barack Obama's time to shine and he is leading in a new day. Jackson was upset with Obama because he felt that he was talking down to Black Men in particular. but all things are subjective and is up to who and what you believe. i respect and admire both men and I don't wanna see anymore Black on Black negativity because they both matter and always will to the survival to Black America. i don't lke to see anything take away from one man or the other but Rev Jackson blurting those words out on Fox News of all places set fuel to a already hot fire that didn't need to be set off.

White baseball players getting 2nd chances unlike Black players

now I applaud what texas Rangers Josh Hamilton is doing and New York Yankees Jason Giambi but the same time I wonder and feel that Black Players never get the same 2nd chances,etc... Barry Bonds is being locked out and it is obvious. Hamilton had a serious drug Problem and Giambi only a couple of years ago was tied to Balco steriod usuage,etc... but now since he has grown out his moustache and has fans wearing it in the stands and he is hitting homeruns now all of a sudden he is treated like nothing has ever happen. yeah it is racial as always. the standards and rules are different where race is a factor and how things go down,etc... the media and the sports Media and world precieves things so differently when a White athlete is accused or even charged with something as to a Black athlete. other Black Athletes have pointed this out and spoke on it and it is a real issue that needs to be addressed.

props to Brandon Jennings by-passing College to europe

I applaud and give much dap to 6 ft 2 guard Brandon Jennings for bypassing playing a Year of college Basketball and going overseas to Europe. I mean the Modern NBA is more European based in style and play than ever and Jennings is gonna get a jump up and also by pass going to college which would be a waste of time. I can't stand NBA Comiss David Stern's policy on making cats wait until they are 19 before entering the NBA. how is it that you can go serve your country at 18,but you gotta wait a extra year to play Pro Ball? that makes alot of sense. well jennings is gonna get paid. college Basketball is the minor league pimping that the NBA does. orginally Jennings was gonna go to the University of Arizona but changed his mind. I believe that Jennings will lead a flood gate of other younger ballers by passing going to college and playing overseas to get paid and play. i've always felt that ballers in college should be paid because of Injury and Lawd knows all the money made off there name and jerseys sold and not to mention other students who come to that school because of Said name. go to college if you are planning on doing something that is gonna benefit you,but to go for just a year to play ball is a waste of your time and the school's time and it hurts all partys. I feel that if you can make the team at 18 then you belong in the NBA Period why wait? get paid and do your thang Playa.

Alex Rodriguez and this whole mess

i don't get into people's personal business because it's just that. but I can't avoid hearing about A-Rod even when I watch ESPN or other sports shows. then you throw in his Ex Wife now Cynthia who filed for Divorce and then you add in Madonna and Lenny Kravitz to the mix and this whole situation becomes like a modern day version of the Hit cbs show "Swingville". A-Rod is One of the Charismatic and Greatest Baseball Players Ever, but he hasn't been much in the Post season. He does tend to like scandal and drama. He thrives on this. He is a having a good year for the New York Yankees, but the side issues tend to override his Greatness sometimes on the field. you know I watch TMZ and ESPN but then I turn on other shows and I can't seem to avoid and being a Yankee fan this is only gonna linger and be it's own soap opera with no end in sight for a while.ain't it funny how you ain't even asking for situations as this and then you can't avoid it. another Saga in the A-Rod file.i wish that there was no side media because folks should be able to maintain there Privacy and we should just enjoy the Man as a Great Baseball Player. let his talent do the talking.respect the Privacy of all partys involved as well.

back to work after a long weekend

talk about kinks and feeling all outta sort like crazy? still seeing fire works and design mess on the sidewalk and trying to get my head back in check. eating and sleeping gotta get back to routine and just chill. those holiday days flew by and while I was active, i also felt extremely lazy and didn't want to do a whole lot. long weekends usually means more food or more sleeping or more music listening,etc.. but in the summer time I avoid the Hot Box aka alot of TV watching and viewing and keeping the lights off. over this past weekend it thundered and Lighten where I live and I just chilled. the nice thing about this time of the year is that it stays warm and nice outside. gotta get comfortable into that work mode.

classic Wimbledon Match between Nadal and Federer

arguably the Greatest Men's wimbledon finals ever. rain and tie breakers couldn't stop this epic match. just when it seemed like Rafael Nadal was gonna run the 5 time champion of Wimbledon roger Federer off the court in straight sets, federer forced the issue, came back to tie the match and it went 5 deep and into the longest match on Wimbledon time ever. two rain delays and other overtimes and it was a battle nobody wanted to see end. when Federer was coming back he was hitting his trademark aces and whatnot but he never seemed in control as he had in the past against Nadal. Nadal never backed down and played to his strengths and forced federer into alot of errors and alot of un-sure hit backs and agrresive plays. it was a great match between the two best Men's players over the past 3-4 years easily. for my money they should each be allowed to battle against each other. because the gap between 1 and 2 to 3 and after is a many miles apart. this was the kind of match that had me on the edge of my seat and it was very intense.Nadal will must certainly be Number 1 ranked now,but these two guys are warriors and the best two going on in Men's tennis bar none. classic performance.

bottles that Groove

place my ears by the Groove

hear the little changes and chants

like silent whisltes that awake me and

relax my whole being as If I had a home cooked

meal and didn't think about last night

write a long letter and send it to the water

and will the message come back in good faith?

will that bottle of words be cherished and come back

with warm soulful sentiments or will it come back

just wet and torn into pieces? how you hear the groove

speaks to the words and rhythms of the tone used

from the peace of the Bottle, the soothing swing of the water

and the words on paper that showcase a Pen in motion

Jesse Helms died on the 4th of july

and my thoughts of this man aren't that good. I'm a Black Man who lived in Virgina and I know all to well about the deep south and the loaded racist agenda of a cat like Helms. folks like Him, Ronald Regan, George wallace and some of those other deep seated conservative clowns were a pain in the Behind especially if you are Black or unless you played the game. Helms stayed on Hate mode until the day he died. his campaigns and themes were done in very insensetive manners to divide and it worked. dude was on some real life Archie Bunker tip and he never tried to be Politically correct. the Irony of this Man's death on the 4th of July when you remember Independence and not the flip side of it. now he will be remembered by a few groups of folks. the ones who champion his strong held conservative beliefs. and the other folks who saw and felt he was a racist tyrant. now I don't have a Problem with people being conservative, but when it becomes Race Baiting and dividing and being down right in-sensitive then I got a Problem and Helms is a Cat I didn't relate to at all.dude seemed to be around for so long.

ground level

touch the green grass and smell the scents

as if I had picked up a accent and sorry i got

madd and said excuse my french

in the lonely of the eye as the sounds of wind

came roaring like a hungry lion with teeth

that were touched at a glance by ice cubes

and nothing was left untouched and unwrapped

you see species on the lam and finding there

way to roam and avoid the usual traps

and the morning arrival of the air and the many

foot prints that landed and greeted the area

have all touched down and greeted the ground

and another day shall re-write this moment and time

Jackie Wilson is my artist of the week and month

i just had to listen to Jackie Wilson this past week and just enjoy his unique tone and range all over again. I have always been a fan. Jackie wilson's influence is felt on Michael Jackson and so many other artists. but he was a rare talent who had incredible showmanship to match a dynimite voice. "Lonely teardrops, to be loved, your love (lifts me higher and higher) stop dogging me around. the Man was Smooth and Bad. he had charisma and Personality. He inspired Elvis Presley as well and you know that Ronald Isley was inspired by him as was Smokey Robinson along with Sam Cooke and James Brown. it' always great to see footage of this man performing. he was called Mr.Excitement and when you see him in his Prime and Peak performing then you can understand that he earned that title.

Congradulations to Venus Williams

i want to applaud both the Williams Sisters for making it to the Wimbledon Championship today. Venus won over her Sister Serena to capture another Title Championship. the Williams Sisters have been to tennis in my opinion much like what Tiger Woods has been to golf. they have flipped the script and are always must see tv and also have a chance to always win no matter what there ranking in the world. they have been doing there thing for a decade now and had to deal with the Racist media and knocks about there father from the Media and also questioned about there techniques and this or that which just was loaded. but no matter what the challenges a Winner is a Winner and both of these Women are champions and have set a standard period. Congradulations.

Hot Dog Eating contest

yeserday on the 4th of july at the nathan's hot dog championship eating contest Joey Chestnut defended his title in the hot dog eating overtime by eating 5 extra hot dogs over 6 time champion Takeru Kobayashi. espn had this on yesterday as they do yearly and folks really get into it. eating all those hot dogs and drinking and getting it all down is the key. i could never do it personally but i applaud all who participate in it. Kobayashi is a hot dog eating legend. you see folks of all sizes, shapes and backgrounds getting in on it and in it's not good for your diet,etc... but it sure represents the 4th of July. nothing like the grill and franks but if you are worried about some folks not being able to hold it down with all that eating of hot dogs then this show isn't for you.

thunder storms and Lightening

what is the message in the night?

what is the saying in the day time

as the rock and roll of heavy thumps

comes tapping down over my window pain?

the lightening is fast and intense

it zaps through the collective eyes

out of sight and out of mind

cut all the lights out and call it a night

whispers of foremothers and forefathers

speak of a Message from above that says

words are being spoken and to respect and

obey in the stationary of Peace and quiet

observe the silence and reflect on the

words without open expression

a simple pleasure

the basic elements of love and live

are the little things making me smile

on a day when the blue in the sky

is far from sight and vibe

making a wish and smelling

the flowers that shine around me

can't make any dreams a reality

without any money

but the things that make me feel

alive are the the mini things

that never have to be overblown

enjoy the joys and purity of life

and a smile awaits

Happy 4th of July

time to celebrate and have a great time, but also lets salute our troops and all of our troops from past decades and eras and lets reflect on our freedom. this holiday is more than food, drinks and partying. it is a reflection of our great country and the many reward and treasures and freedoms we have. past 4th of july's have left a lasting impression on me and so many things that i have done over the years. seeing family members during this holiday is fantastic as well. playing horseshoes, sack racing and volleyball or birdy or tennis, baseball, football, basketball or bar b queing, corn on the cobb, and enjoying great food with family, friends has always been great and a blessing. so much always to be blessed to have and enjoy. Peace on earth for all during this 4th of july weekend. be safe and have a great time.

drums of the ears

give me a beat and land on my feet

what did i hear you say and what did you mean

exactly by that blank of full stare?

do I dare play your game and try to read your mind

or do I let the rhythm of your voice and words

be the force that guide me into another day

where neither rain, or sun is what i see in the sky

how much did I hear and how much did i miss

what was stated? am I not a good listerner

am I only as good as the voices that talk

within my own being?

dare to speak and dare to clean my

volumes out and what is left to hear?

Eddie Murphy talking about giving up films for stand up

Eddei Murphy said recently that he would consider given up doing films since he has done almost 50 films and go back to stage and do stand up and I said RIGHT ON! I mean I have always been a fan of Eddie's,but these films have stunk for years. Eddie Murphy doin gth ebill Cosby pudding style films are tired and needed to be overhauled years ago. Eddie did things up in a big way years ago and he stayed current without coming across like he was pandering and making any film for Buck. I had a Horror scene expression on my face when I found out he is gonna do Beverly Hills cop 4. I'm like Naw Bro Man let it slide. a whole audience ain't even expereinced Eddie Live and I think it is time for him to show the younger heads how it is done on the stage. you hardly ever hear a Actor say they are tired of the game, but Eddie done put in 25 years and still is under 50 and who knows what this might mean? we ain't had that Eddie we dug back in the day for many a moon now. for me the only thing on the big screen i feel he should do and could Pull off is a story based on DR martin Luther King JR. I feel Eddie has that kind of moment left on the big screen. enough of the pluto nash, and that other mess he been doing for years.

Nelson Mandela turned 90

One of the most Historical figures in my lifetime and any lifetime turned 90 years old and there was a concert and alot of famous faces paying respects to a true leader and warror who gave his freedom up and fought for what he believed in. Nelson Mandela has always been someone that I have long ago looked up and admired along with respecting. He is a Powerful figure that changed conditions and wanted a better day in South Africa. He became the first Black President back in 1994 and when I say President I'm talking world-wide which paved the way for so many to dream.it is always great to see so many other people acknowledge and come to pay tribute to a great man and leader.

state law of no single hand held cell phones

where I live the law has passed that if you are driving and have a cell phone you need a adaptor to hold your cell phone in place the days of waving around the lanes are over and thankfully. I don't know how many times I have seen cars going all over the place as if the driver was drunk. but you can't tell and when they get pulled over or they miss a turn or something else because of a cell phone can cause damage as well. i knew it would be a matter of time before a law passed.now if cell phones were outlawed in movie theaters, and in book stores and other places where they just pop up and disturb other people out and about. a cell phone in one hand and not being handled properly is equal to somebody drinking and driving with a open can or bottle and it can be dangerous good to see this passed and maybe it will curve some of the streaky driving with cell phones in hand.
