so 90% of People have some sort of tone for singing

the latest report says that 90% of the Population can carry a tune,but why does American idol and other entertainment talent shows take the so called 10% and make it appear that there are so many non singing hacks out here? I know for entertainment purposes and also to get a cheap laugh,but the Music industry itself has quite a few acts like that and there is a reason why auto-tone is hugely popular. i mean we see and hear alot of acts that sound horrible even with the latest enhanced technilogy to cover up there short comings. so while not everybody is meant to be a Professional or have a career in the industry this study shows that what is being advertised is a lie. i've always known people who could sing,but being a star is a whole different Program and game. you gotta be mentally tough and it is all about the songs at the end of the day. no matter how much talent you have,but these shows make a mockery out of the weakest link of vocals.
