BET awards last night hit sour notes

well every year I watch the BET awards show and some have been cool and others have been forgettable and last night was forgettable. Dl Hughley the host of the show stunk up the joint with his lame jokes. Monique aside i ain't been feeling the actual hosts of these shows. as for the performances, well they were weak as well. Usher who I do feel has talent and is good but I still feel is a Broke version of Michael Jackson, did a lackluster performance. NeYo did a better version of Usher but he still don't move me as a live act. Alicia Keys made a cool speech but the performances with SWV and En Vouge were tired to me. Al Green great to see him honored but he sounded off and not fully himself. the tributes to him I could take or leave. award shows don't move me beyond the Country Music awards. I say those because those are the best shows on tv just for the musicianship and showmanship. the best BET award show to me thus far was back in 2003 when James Brown and Michael Jackson got on stage and also R.kelly performed. been a minute since a BET award show held my complete attention. i was bugging out when MC Lyte did the voice overs and Lisa,Lisa was a Presenter.
