talk about a game that is always bringing in the big money? what other game has captured so many minds of all age ranges and people sit right in front of there tv screen and act like they are jacking a car. this Game is expecting to have a strong opening day numbers style and it has been popular for years. anything that has a strong Negative connection always brings in crazy loot. I personally ain't into the game but i have seen other people play it and also all of the music that is played when it is being played. the game never has fallen off with consumers who enjoy the thrill of playing this game on screen. World-Wide the numbers are gonna be staggering when they are released. i'm always amazed at what catches on and never lets up where games and technilogy are concearned.

this week i am listening to Tevin Campbell a Artist who to me is the last closes thing to a Younger version of Michael Jackson for my money. Tevin Campbell had a soulful harmony in his voice and truly had a "IT" factor as a artist,etc... Usher, NeYo,Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake,etc... can't hold a candle to what Tevin Campbell had. all those Songs that Tevin Campbell did with Babyface still are my jams to this day. sometimes you just want to go back and listen to a artist that moved you and while they mayh no longer be on the charts, there impact and there talent is never forgotten and I still truly believe that with the right song and a drive, Tevin Campbell could still come back and drop something on folks. he is a sad Loss for R&B Music to me. without his voice something truly is missing and he could be a force again. the Cat can Sing/Sang, and has stage pressence and can put on a show. He is doing Broadway now,but I would like to see him back cutting another R&B Album.

Dr. Wright is saying what alot of Black folks from a era of not so long ago feel and share. from the Church to the Barbershop alot of what Rev Wright said is felt. from the days when Rev Wright was a young Boy and also as a Younger Man he expereinced and saw many negative sides of america toward Black People. regardless of what happens to Barack Obama's presidency run,etc... Rev Wright didn't say what alot of people didn't think or feel in the Black Community. not all Black People feel this way,but many do and I can relate to what Rev. Wright is coming from and what he was pointing at. Rev Wright sounds just like Dr. martin Luther King Jr post 1965. REV Wright talks about Jim Crow america and the cold realitys of the past and how it is still tied to the present. some folks actually look at barack Obama as a Pop Cross-Over Star who just happens to be Black. sad,but true. so when they hear His Minister speaking out on things they don't want to be reminded of about a not so distant past which still leaves alot of wounds for African-American people it gets people talking. Rev Jeremiah Wright ain't said nothing that I hadn't heard growing up as a Black Man in America. nobody in America wants to talk or deal with Racism and it's lingering impact and the Profits it has given and has taken away. i applaud anybody who ain't afraid to tell it like it is.

Miley Cyrus is the big time break out star of the Disney channel's big hit Hannah Montana and the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. she is only 15 years old and has a Memoir book due along with a successful tour called the Best of Both worlds and successful albums,etc... but she also seems to have a Problem keeping her clothes on. a few weeks back she was all over myspace.com with some suspect pictures on there for such a young girl. and now in the latest issue of Vanity Fair she is posing and now blaming the person who took her picture. she might be saying one thing,but she seems to be headed toward the Britney Spears/Jamie Lynn Spears school of doing whatever. some kids are so quick and want to be grown and don't appreciate there childhood and once it's over then some of them spend years trying to go back. this could be the start of a young diva in the making and all the baggage that comes along with it. i say whatever you are gonna do then do, but at the same time don't play all lost and blame others when the Picture remains the same and it seems to be a pattern.

Comcast and those corny commericals

got Comcast Cable as most people do, but I can't stand those corny Lip Synch commericals where they have people mouthing the words off of parts of older songs and it makes no sense at all. bad enough that comcast Cable don't decrease the bill for long term customers, and give better offers to new signing people,but to throw in the fact those generic Cop Rock Commericals which make no sense at all. i wonder who thought of this concept? I mean what purpose does it serve in the big or small picture? Comcast is a monopoly on the whole cable game and there is no real loop hole anymore. i run out of the room when those dinky commericals come on and I just can't figure it out. just one of those things that makes me wonder and also watch the Cable Bill continue to just rise. they need to run a Ad to save on a Bill and hit a different note for that.

NFL DRAFT DAY

football fans everywhere your team is now on the clock. it is offically April 25th and that means it is draft day and everybody who is a football fan is a Expert GM for a day. who will emerge as a top draft pick after today and pan out? for every Payton Manning, OJ Simpson,John Elway drafted as a top pick, there are also gems drafted in later rounds such as Terrell Davis and Tom Brady. so there is always somebody to get that could be a SuperStar either in the first draft or further down. but the Hype between draft day and ESPN,etc... makes it like it's the end all be all. Mel Kiper and all the NFL Experts tell you who they think is gonna be the Man,but nobody ever knows how these things are gonna turn out. but as a Football fan and especially for my team the Buffalo Bills every year at draft time is a moment to reflect and wish for something good. stay tunned. for one day at least everybody has a chance to be on top,but reality will come forth sooner than you think.

so word today that three cops were found not guilty though they fired 50 shots and killed a black Man in New York. does this ever change? I mean what does it take for a black man to get justice in America if He doesn't have money or a name? it is so sad and so maddening that this same Mess goes on year after year and decade and era upon another.i mean what does this keep happening and where is the balance? things never seem to change. Wesley Snipes got 3 years for his tax issues

well just heard that Wesley Snipes got a 3 year bid for his failure to pay on his taxes. i still feel it comes down to money and he will end up paying it back anyway so why is he getting this kind of sentence? also he didn't get convicted off the more serious crimes so what gives here and how is it that Willie Nelson can avoid any time and is allowed to pay back 16 million dollars by selling his Music? I would think that anyone who owes tax money would need to be out to pay back the money they owe,etc... despite letters for his support from Denzel Washington, Woody Harrleson, Judge Joe Brown amongest others, it didn't work in Wesley Snipe's favor. taxes are a tricky thing and in some cases some folks has money taken from them and then you have situations as this which leads to someone getting actual Jail time. some folks will say he thought since he was Rich he was above paying taxes, some people will say he got some bad information in avoiding paying this or that,etc... regardless I always feel there should be some middle ground and if regardless he has to pay the money back in some for or fashion over time,so why keep him from working?

i caught the new Mcdonalds commerical where they say you don't have to be all uptight,etc.. to drink there coffee. Mcdonalds use to talk trash against Burger King,but now they are in the early morning coffee game and are taking on Starbucks. yeah and the commericals truly work and are classy and in good taste. Starbucks has taken a hit over the past few years and with the over pricing and then allowing a free drink if the drink isn't acceptable to the customers satisfaction,etc... so Mcdonalds is on the wagon to get in on the Latte game. the Coffee game never has enough business. now Mcdonalds already has a tight morning game with there breakfast and now you add the Latte to the mix and they are really on the ball. digging the concept and overall Promotion.

what is your part on this particular day? are you recycling? car Pooling? putting the right recycle into the right places? but also are you tired of hearing about Eco Green?? I mean re-cycling ain't nothing new,Sorry Puffy it was around long before you started to do it with records. back in the day to make some coin I use along with my grandmother collect Soda Pop Cans and also newspapers and make money off of it. but you had to have so many cans. back in the day when you'd see folks with grocery carts and all kinds of garbage bags full of cans. so to protect the earth and all of it's elements it is important to take care of the Planet and be respective to the enviroment. now granted every day you ain't gonna always do the right thing and you might throw away a paper into your trash,but it is important to keep things into perspective,but I don't think you need to be reminded of it all the time,but Protecting the earth is important for the future.

I didn't say Tiger Woods and I didn't stutter either. she has had 6 starts with 5 wins and a Major thus far this year. she is the 2 time LPGA ROlex Player of the Year and she isn't over-powering at all. she is a very dominant Player and just very detailed. she is also a Proud Mexican who says she goes back home and keeps things direct and doesn't try to play up for anybody. in her spare time she runs half marathons and even does triathlons. she is vastly under the radar considering all she has accomplished. Michelle Wie had more hype and though she went directly against Men, she didn't reach the scales that Ochoa has thus far. Ochoa is reaching some incredible heights thus far. i respect her directness and also the fact she is wanting to be a Champion more than anything else and that is what every Great/Good Athlete aspires to.

I thought she is a very skilled driver,but I did wonder when it would occur that she would win. I knew she had the talent to be in the mix, but it was only a matter of when and where and she made history and nobody can take that away. Congradulations. she might inspire Other Females and Younger females to get into the Race Car Business.

NBA and National Hockey Playoffs are on now

if you are a sports nut like myself well then this weekend is your ticket and then some. not only are the NBA Playoffs off and starting,but Hockey is going strong with it's post-season as well. so much to select from and the handy remote keeps me toned in. now I mainly catch the Hockey Playoffs through the Highlights,but the NBA for the most part I plan to catch as the game is on tv. but then again you never know I might watch a whole Hockey Playoff game, depends on who is playing and what is at stake. for me all sports are exciting when it is the Playoffs because this is what you play for and this is what seperates the Pretenders from the Contenders in the bigger picture. get the Popcorn, Pop and candy or whatever you need to watch and view and enjoy. this is sure to be a memorable Post-Season in Both sports and looking forward to how it all turns out.

national Record Store day

today is national record store day and that means that all of the record stores across the nation are celebrating th particular day. there was a time when you had to personally push and drag me out of a record store.i use to buy any and everything. talk about needing a 12 step program for addiction? but those days were long gone once Napster and other on-line services came into effect and also the quality of the music and the over-pricing as well just made me moonwalk by the record part of the store and take me directly toward the dvd section and hardly looking back. but there was a time when this experience was done my alley. I still enjoy going by record stores and I will always have a lifetime of memorys,but while I champion today, it just also tells me of how much the modern technilogy truly changed the game. still ain't nothing like a Vynl Album with the snaps, crackles and Pops and all the Hiss which still send chills down my spine. if Prices were more reasonable and there were more worthy purchases for me to invest in, then I might be tempted. nowadays I just look at a used spot or a second shop for old records and things,but nothing like going down the aisles and day-dreaming and enjoy the record store moments and time.

Baseball instead has stayed overseas in the Dominican Republican, and also to China,Japan,etc.. but aren't touching down in the Ghettos or Black based neighborhoods seeking out Young talent. you have Great talents like Curtis Guanderson,Ryan Howard,Jimmy Rollins, Dontrell Wills hardly getting any endoresements and whatnot and the average kid nowadays sees Lebron James everywhere,Dwayne Wade, Carmello Anothony,Kobe Bryant,etc... but when it comes to Baseball what? and lets forget how Baseball has moonwalked from the Home Run King Barry Bonds and how they treated him as well. well talk about longer overdue? Isiah thomas was finally let go by the New York Knicks after just allowing that team to become the laughing stock of the NBA. now first and foremost I'm a Huge Isiah thomas fan as a player. to me He was the best Small Guard that I ever saw. he brought the pain as a player just ask Michael Jordan,Larry Bird and Magic Johnson???? but as a General Manager or Coach He was totally lost and out of his element and it showed. I hope the Knicks get back to respectability again and I hope Isiah Thomas can remain in Basketball in some form or capacity but anything but coaching or running a team. it is always hard to see a Great Player and visionary talent as Isiah "Zeke" Thomas Who is a Winner to me come off so badly and just look hopeless and have a team quit on him and he can't do anything about it. New York and Isiah THomas each deserve better down the road.

so today news comes out that Houston Astro's shortstop and American league MVP Miguel Tejada back in the day shaved off 2 years off of his age and was able to leave his native Dominican Republic Home. alot of players from the Dominican are asked to lie about there age and it means more appeal for Prospective Major League teams looking for a player. this sounds just like what happens out in Hollywood where Stars lie about there age all of the time. now Tejada quickly left the Guy who was interviewing him about the story that has leaked about how Tejada back when he was 19 said he was 17 which ended up with him getting a bonus to join a team. alot of talent scouts go overseas to seek young talent and anything goes for a buck. it is part of the game within the game. all elements of entertainment always comes with some kind of a hustle and it never seems to fail. I'm sure there are more storys like this and it won't be the last.

talk about a show where folks will say and do anything for a buck at the risk of running there relationships with Spouses or Lovers? I mean hearing some of the folks comment on things that are usually reserved for behind closed doors like it was nothing is a trip,but over the past decade and change the old standards of in house has been replaced. the reality tv bug and other forms of communication has made everybody's business front page news and tabloid worthy. a show like this though still makes me wish that more folks from Hollywood or Power couples,etc... would come and tell the real deal. it is so compelling when a regular John and Mary can express whatever and draw you in, now imagine what it would be like if a famous person came on with there spouse and aired it all out for the money and how far would they go? seems that alot of people will do anything for Money,but could you live with yourself if you Broke somebody's heart on National Tv for a Possible shot at a Million dollars? or what happens if you get all the answers correct and then miss the very last one and then go home empty handed both in terms of Money and your Lover? is that worth the risk and Gamble? well I'll just watch and keep my mouth shut.

talk about a bomshell or maybe not that big of a deal. today a sex Tape is just another form of PR and actually gives a Star more Cred or so it appears to. but back in the day something of this magnitude was considered a PR nightmare and a big time No,No! but the other day Monroe's Sex tape which lasts about 15 minutes sold for over a Million dollars. so many hands wanted to get the tape. there was a time when this was Oh My God type of response. but nowadays it seems like any and everybody out in Hollywood got a tape floating and in some cases they are Promoting along with a ringtone and textmessage notes as Proof. it seems nobody out in Hollywood is above something of this coming forth. but then again Marilyn Monroe wasn't that far ahead of alot of the talents that are out nowadays. She was linked with John F.Kennedy and Robert Kennedy and other famous folks. so now this tape emerges can't anyone rest in peace especially Marilyn Monroe?

61 years ago today today Jackie Robinson Broke the Baseball color Line in Major League Baseball and the impact and sentiments felt there since. we are in a time period where Major League Baseball is missing having more Black Players. the marketing of the game is missing today in alot of ways. Jackie Robinson paved the way beyond Baseball because he was a Social factor and he meant so much. today across all Major League Ball Parks his Number retired and he is honored. but Major League Baseball needs more Black Managers, Players,General Mangers and Ownership. gotta bring the game back home and gotta acknowledge and honor what Jackie Robinson and other Pioneers from the Negro Leagues and Early Black Ball Players in addtion to Jackie Robinson such as Larry Dolby amongest others who pave the way to make the game a level playing field.

tax day April 15nth

it is tax day and that time of the year where it is either time to collect or time to pay up. April 15nth always seems to come faster and faster as time goes by. do you go to Jackson Hewitt, H&R Block, do them yourselfs or other sources. do you have plans to buy something or pay off something? that is what this time of the new year brings out to you. i was sad to hear that my Mother in Law had to pay a great deal of money back this year. that can never be a good experience. over the years tax day has been a stressful time and so much drawn out paper work and calculating this or that. heck I can't stand taxes when I play Monopoly so you know in a real life situation i can't even wanna be dealing with the actual tax time.good luck and hope things work for you this tax season.

Seattle SuperSonics leaving Seattle?

in Seattle last Night the SuperSonics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in what might have been the last game in Seattle for a while. hard to believe that a Orgainazation who went to Back to Back championships and Won One, is now gonna leave town and who knows if another team will come into town. the NBA doesn't protect it's own and I truly believe that if NBA Commisinor David Stern was truly pressed about doing something then the Sonics would stay in Seattle. with a young and up and coming talent in Kevin Durant and he seems to be a SuperStar in the making with the right balance of cast around him, the fans in Seattle are gonna get robbed out of not having him around. the Sonics through the years have had a cast of very talented and timeless talent. but it seems that the Sonics can't get the money for a new building and it seems to be a end to a era of Basketball in the Greater Northwest. always hard to see things like this happen.

you know it is baseball season and as a hardcore New York Yankees fan it was a tough pill to swallow that my yankees lost 2 out of 3 to the redsox's this past weekend. even tougher to deal with is that the building for the new Yankee Stadium set to debut next year has a burried Red Sox's David Ortiz jersey in there as a curse and a bad joke from a Red Sox fan. talk about this battle bringing out another side of it's ugly head? the Yankees get a shot at Boston at home this week and hopefully we can turn the page and even things out. thus far and it is painful for me to say this,but the RedSox's still look like they are in Championship form and my Yankees are still suspect on the pitching end. so much is going down and any slight edge or mental edge can go a long way. i hope the Yankees can bring one last flag to the Original Yankee stadium. and then hopefully Boston can get cursed again.

i was tripping about the fact of those girls who beat that girl and then had the nerve to put the footage of the beatdown on youtube.com and also on myspace.com and were showing it off for the world to see. Problem they faced was that the Police found out who they were and arrested them. also the effect of what they did hadn't registered with them,because they thought they were gonna get out within a week for there Prom and had plans. what they didn't understand was that they commited a serious crime and offense. talk about clueless and not understanding what had happen? consenquences are gonna happen but it seems some of these kids just don't have a clue. i saw footage of this on the news but I refused to watch this sad mess on Youtube or any other video outlet because it was just wrong on so many levels. school fighting and Player hating ain't nothing new,but when it results into fist fighting and then it is used to taunt or showed as something, then it is truly sad.

i like that Kobe Bryant commerical,but

the new Kobe Bryant Commerical is cool to me, but if he really did jump over that car then I bet the LA lakers brass had a few words for him. if he misses that jump and really hurts himself then you can say there goes the season and maybe the future. Kobe is close to winning a MVP award this year and possibly a good run the Post Season this year,but if he had have fallen then he would have been headed to the Looney Bin ASAP. his Shoes are decent, though more people buy Kobe jerseys than his shoes. but when he says don't try this at home with that jump, of course some folks won't be able to help themselves and the product placement of going out and buying his shoes and the attempting to jump over a fast moving sports car is the lliusion being sold. but i do like the commerical and it features his teammate Ronnie Turrif. it is cool and good to See Kobe Braynt happy and enjoying himself.

when somebody endorse's a Presidential canidate or a Product how influential is it to you? does it make you want to get the Product? even as a Huge Michael Jackson fan ain't no way in the world was i gonna drink Pepsi? i see ads all the time and just because I dig somebody's talent be it in music, sports,acting,etc... doesn't mean I want that particular thing to have or enjoy. for instance if you see some sneakers how important are they to you?and does the cost matter or because of a logo or a sign does that make you more eager to get it? Product placement has been around for so long and it will always be around and we just accept it without any questions asked. of course it always impacts your spending habits no matter your age except when you get to a point in your life where you whatever and I could careless. now that is the veto power you always want to have.

and the Tiger Woods watch kicks in. now the field has a chance,but most people are banking on Tiger Woods walking away with another Trophy. every since Tiger Dominated the field back in 1997 i make it a habbit of watch the Masters to see what Tiger Woods is gonna do. now Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh,,Davis Love and a few others are always of interest, but it's mainly about what Tiger Woods is gonna do. folks are gonna be watching. of all the Golf Majors this one is considered the Super Bowl if you will. all eyes are on the prize. the countdown to Tiger Woods catching and surpassing Jack Nicklaus is always on the minds of many. Espn is all over the coverage and so is the golf channel. the Masters captures the full attention span and thensome. I'm watching this weekend. rooting for Tiger as always.

that phone call that says something that is up

right before I was getting ready for work, my phone rang and I knew something was off and wrong. this call told me that my Uncle was in the Hospital and so much went running through my mind and i still gotta get word on how he is doing. that phone call can come in the early hours of the morning or the middle of night or late and there is something about that certain phone call that ain't good. it's that Call where somebody on the other end says somebody is hurt, in the Hospital, In Jail, needs a place to crash or even worse Dead. you never know when that phone call is gonna come,but you just know the sound of the phone ain't like that call you get when things are looking good. even now that call is even scary because with Caller ID and you see the Name flash on the screen and that makes it even more dramatic. i have Prayers for my Uncle. and this type of call is one that you just ain't prepared for. what is it about the tone of the phone and the timing of the call that has bad news written all over it? even as a kid I always could tell if the phone call was gonna be a downer. the tone never lies,but sometimes i wish the ring came on delay or just could be all avoided. but that is life and it has the Ups and downs and in betweens and a phone call is no exception. no matter what the time or day.

Women's College National title game tonight

Stanford versus Tennessee in the battle for the Women's NCAA Title. Candice Wiggins of Stanford battles against Candace Parker of Tennessee. Parker is playing despite a out fo socket arm and she has a badly injured Shoulder. if this was a regular season game she would Probably take the game off. Pat Summitt Tennessee's coach is seeking another title to add. She is One of the Dominant Coaches ever in any Sport Profession. Wiggins and Parker have been the best two College Women players over the past couple of years. I hope this game is as thrilling as the Men's game was last night where it saw Kansas come from behind and Beat Memphis in overtime. hopefully this game will be as exciting. the Women's Ncaa tournement this year has been compelling in it's own right. always some interesting story lines at work and this game should be real entertaining.

Spring Break

well it is that time of the year out where I live for the kids to have his week off. the weather is still hit and miss,but the Kids are out this week and I see it everywhere. my Kid is off this week and you are thinking of so many things to do to fill that void of space and time. not trying to get bored and trying to make the day pass. i remember having spring break and sleeping in and going out to places and just staying up late. that was one of the things Spring break was all about and yet it was the fastest week that i remember and recall. oh the past Spring Breaks meant finding stuff to do. but Kids nowadays got gadgets and can camp out in front of a computer almost half the day. hmmmmm that goes on with or without Spring Break go figure? anyway this is the first day of it and it will be interesting how it goes down,but Spring Break is always spring break no matter where you are in your life. you always remember what it meant to you and the weather and the other things to make a week when you could do whatever.

Kansas and Memphis in the NCAA Men's title game

yeah I bet almost everyone had this two teams playing for the title on Monday Night? yeah and I got real estate to give you and I can throw in a New Car as well. like most folks I thought that and Bought into the Hype of UCLA and NORTH CAROLINA. yeah the WHole Love versus Hansboro and the fact that they have won titles before,etc... but Memphis wasn't a 1 loss team all year by accident. and Kansas a team picked by other coaches when asked to pick a team aside from there own who could win it all wasn't a fluke to be where they are. still like most people I saw the Popular pick and also thought it was a done deal,but Yesterday Memphis blew out Ucla and while North Carolina made the game closer, Kansas whipped up on them for the better part of that game as well. so this is gonna be a showdown of teams sorta forgotten and i expect a memorable national title game. get your popcorn,drinks and napkins it should be a real compelling contest between two teams that truly got there own thing style wise.

James Brown saving Boston Docmentary on VH1

last night was the world premier of the Night James Brown saved Boston Mass. it was the night after Dr.Martin Luther King Jr was Killed and there was alot of tension and it was gonna be a showdown. but James Brown came on stage and did what he did best with his great Musicians and Lead the Peace but kept the Funk. He was leading the charge for a better night and he was deeply hurt and so moved but he was the peace maker. James Brown was from the Hood and let it be known where he stood on things and he wasn't the kind of Cat who was gonna stand and be punched,but on this Particular Night he wanted to speak on Calm, Peace and finding Love. Music is a Powerful force and it takes a special Talent to bring matters of the world together. I consider James Brown One of the 5 most Influential Musical Acts Ever that I have ever seen and on this Night Soul Brother Number 1 reigned Supreme. this is the kind of historical event that is must see because of everything that was going down. James Brown had the mayor acknowledge him and they met each other half way. the Concert was televised which kept calm in the city. a Moment in time on April 5th 1968 saved more lives and touched so many. JB made you Say it Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud!!! I miss JB,but his Musical Greatness is timeless and will last till the end of time.

learning a new language

nowadays alot of people can speak at least one other language and depending on your job and surroundings it is very needed. though i always heard that the best talk is with Cash. always been told that cash can make you figure out things very quickly and fast. nevertheless growing up French was part of my household and my People on My Mother's side of the family are creole. learning French was something else. in school learning Spanish was also interesting. I wanted to learn a African Language as well. learning a Language is like learning Algebra or a higher level of Math. if you practice it and remember it then you never forget it. but you have to practice and be accurate with it because if you forget it then you will not remember what it means. nowadays computers and other forms of technilogy help you reach your goals of learning different languages and if you are traveling abroad it becomes very helpful. it's always something else when you come across somebody who speaks multi languages and do it as well as they speak English.

do you love your Heritage?

i feel this is a great question. who in life hasn't wished they were another race or part of another culture at some time and point of there lives? don't lie we all have wondered what it would be like at least for a day another race and in place. some folks though go through there adulthood not happy with who they are. they feel they are stereotyped or seen as such and such and wish or long to be something else. growing up as a young Black Boy back in the day I always heard words and things. it tripped me out how folks wanted to emulate things that were suppose to be Hip which meant Slang or Coded for Black Culture but nobody wanted to actually outside of the Race wanted to be in the Skin. it has always been fashionable to enjoy the Music, food, slang and other things in the culture but not necessary dealing with the direct link of it. what makes other heritages attractive to us all? is it because of acceptance? is it because of not having to think or be this or that in a cold cold society and World?? it makes for a interesting discussion.

Bobby Womack is the link Between Sam Cooke and R.Kelly. when I need some down home country gut bucket soul then I gotta put on some Bobby Womack. enjoyed his Book and have always been a huge fan of his music. He will crack you up with what he is saying on his records. but he always gets to the point and cuts to the chase. i can listen and just feel where Bobby Womack is coming from. when a Artist can connect and make you feel where they are coming from then that is what it's all about. you might not hear alot of people talking about Bobby Womack or see him all over the charts,but the folks who appreciate his music will tell you that he brings and he brought it. whenever I'm feeling out of sorts or just need some of that straight up Real Talk with music Bobby Womack is that dude who can say what I'm thinking or feeling.

Remembering Dr.Martin Luther King Jr

hard to believe it's been 40 years since DR. King was Killed in Memphis Tenn. James Earl Ray was charged with the Murder though there are folks who think there were other forces involved. Dr King changed the whole World and how Race was seen and viewed in America. i believe if he were Alive today, he would still preach toward people of all backgrounds coming together he speak out against injustices and other factors that are not Progressive. Dr King is the Link to a Jesse Jackson through Barack Obama running for the Presidency. Dr.King died before I was Born, but His impact and Legacy pathed the way for me and so many others and his message and voice will always transcend time. He had so much depth and balance as a Speaker and a Leader. this weekend on VH1 Music channel there is a special about Boston,Mass being in unrest after Dr King was Killed, but thanks to James Brown the City became somewhat calm. Dr King is as Important as any Presidential or any other important Cultural Figure here in America. He inspired and touched alot of People of all backgrounds,ages. he was more than His "I have a Dream" speech He was a Man who talked,walked and brought true change. can anybody today say the same thing and be willing to put there life and whole being on the Line? that kind of spirit and attitude is needed now more than ever.

Mikhail Youzhny tennis player bashing his head

how many times do you see a Professional Athlete mad at themselves in a game and they take out there frustration on the gaterade cooler or anything within hand distance. well Youzhny took matters to a whole new extreme at the Sony erickson open last night by taking his tennis racket and hitting it across his face to the point where he started to bleed. and he ended up winning the match. now while it hurts and it caused alot of pain,etc... the sportsmanship and attitude shows that the man truly took his game serious. but it still doesn't keep you from saying to yourself this dude done went Madd?? it's all over youtube getting alot of hits(No Pun intended) and will be the talk of the moment for another day or two until someone else comes along and goes even further. lets hope not because seeing dude with that blood coming over his forehead was scary,but imagine if he hadn't won the match??

remembering Marvin Gaye

hard to believe it's been 24 years and I remember that Sunday after me and My Grandmother had gotten home from church and seeing the news where Marvin Gaye had been killed by his father. at first I thought it was a APril fools day joke,but the Body bag and expressings from the crowd spoke the horror which was a hard sad day for me on a very warm day. Marvin Gaye has always been a huge musical hero of mine. His voice was Genius and his words and music which dealt with all of the human spirits and the world around him spoke so strongly and loudly. i almost forgot this particular time period had come up so soon. time flies but the Musical Genius Greatness of Marvin Gaye is timeless. though that particular Sunday 24 years back still is as Haunting as hearing about 2Pac Shakur being dead in 1996 in early September of that year. tonight I will listen to Some Marvin and proclaim a toast to him. today would have been his birthday.

April Fools Day

today not so much as a Prank but something that either scares you or makes you move in ways that you haven't in years. April Fool's day is that one day of the year when somebody pulls something on you or catches you off guard and then says gotcha!! but how about other times during the year when you are caught off guard and you see the humor but it is lost on everyone else? the best punchlines or pranks are the simple ones and yet as time goes by this particular day comes and goes without you thinking twice about it until you think back to what you once did upon a time. now the moment doesn't last long but the way you react seems to be minutes that make your heart and pulse go beyond the norm. so what was the last situation which you went for and then a moment later come to find out, it was all a joke? and do we remember falling for it twice?? always remember each day because you never know when a prankster is gonna get you.
