Barrack Obama and winning in Iowa:Racially
well Barrack Obama did something that no other Black Presidential canidate did since the days of the Rev Jesse Jackson and that is win a State in a Primary election. now what does that mean in the big picture and racially speaking in America?? I'm just not conviced that America is ready or ever will be ready for a Black President. now to Barrack Obama's credit he is a well spoken Polished and stand out guy, He can give a speech and is very articulate, Intelligent and has the right Cross-Over appeal that makes white Voters feel safe and comfortable, but what does that mean comes issue time? can He speak on the Civil Rights Movements and the Racial segeregation of the Subtle and not so Subtle that still continues to Plague our Great Nation after all of this time? I mean what he has accomplished after being sworn in as a Illinois Senator in a few short years is truly remarkable, but He doesn't need to be Politically correct he needs to be Politically Conscious. it isn't about if America is ready for a Black President, it's about is America ready for a Black Person who can truly be themselves and acknowledge Race and work strong and hard to fight the ignorance and truly make this land one and for all. we need a Black voice that says America was wrong for Slavery and break down how the impacts and effects of that ugly chapter and History of America still haunts Black America in 2008. the Genocide of that Slavery through the Horror of this never ending Iraq war are subjects to challenge. to make sure all children get a balance education, better housing, tearing down Ghettos and Hoods and making everybody have a equal chance. Education, Health care, family time,etc..... I don't need or want any Window Dressing because it doesn't do anybody any good. Progress is made when people are truly accepted as themsevles. real change is about being aware and not settling for us or them mentality. so we shall see how this all plays itself out. it's good for the Obama Camp, but what is the big picture and sooner rather than Later real talk is required.
