in the midnight

the night and stars come as one as woolves howl and air builds up

the scene of outside is the moment that makes you aware of surroundings

something about the waves of wind and the way eyes meet in the dark

as if running during a early evening was just a escape and a walk in the park

no longer looking for sun or shade no longer looking for a clock to remember

just watching the shadow of the sky as it fades and turns into a reflection

that seems to echo and follows my inner soul wherever i go

as I close my eyes though a new day has emerged

the feel of the night has turned into a memory

and has left a Sign of purity and is relaxing to the Mind

what did the State of the Union mean again?

so I watched in parts of President Bush's final state of the Union speech and it felt like I have heard it all before and could almost say what part and what point was gonna get the most attention. Problem is why does a State of the Union feel more like a Pep Rally as to bringing people together? why does a President who is seen to be leaving have to add anything when the message of the person won't really matter in a few months? i have over the years watched and paid some attention to these and I have come away feeling empty because they never solve anything but they do make people feel good who support said president. so alot of Media types didn't seem impressed and just shrugged and it just felt like a replay of what has been said before during this tenure.

Magic Johnson just cracked me up

Magic Johnson along with SHaquille O'Neal are the two Greatest Players Ever to me and I enjoy comments from each one of them as well,etc... now Magic Johnson was the Man back in the day and hard to believe it's been 20 years since the Lakers and the Detriot Pistons played in what I call the last Great NBA Finals. it was Magic's lakers against Isiah Zeke Thomas's Pistons. and they were buddys. and still are. and the funny thing is that everybody who follows the NBA knows the New York Knicks stink and just last night Magic Johnson said the knicks will make the playoffs. now the east overall does stink, but come on it ain't that bad is it? i know Magic and Isiah are homeboys but sometimes you gotta be real and tell the truth. now I can't really talk because my Miami Heat stink up the whole joint, but the knicks aren't that far from us either. it caught me off guard and then I reflected on the effect of two buddys. but I can't see the Knicks doing anything else but going Fishing.

Florida Primarys the end for Edwards and Giuliani

last night in Florida Hillary CLinton and John Mccain emerged victoriously and it meant the end for John Edwards and Rudy Giuliani. Edwards to me never had a chance and he was just taking up space. He lacks that certain "IT" and yet if he had a little game he might make Vice President by chance but what he lacks is so telling that he can't even be better than a 3rd seed. on the republican side Rudy Giuliani seemed to be in control but somebody needed to wake him up and tell him to get on the ball because his run fell flat over the past month and change. he didn't stay driven and it cost him.

John Mccain the 4 time senator and former vietnam prisoner of War is the comeback Kid. He seemed doomed only a month ago,but as we speak he is the hottest topic in this election right now. he is driven and has alot of backing. Him and Mitt Romney will duck it out for the Republican Nomination.

Hillary Clinton be it Loved or Loathed She keeps on rolling. she and Barack Obama are battling it out tooth and Nail but last night was a Huge Win for Hillary Clinton. these races are so tight and hard to call in places and that is a good thing because the voter has so much to digest and factor in.

ever missing a Pen?

yeah how many times have you lost a Pen or trying to think back to where you placed it? I have made it a point of keeping my Pens out front to make sure I don't loss anymore of them. i have Pens in various colors and I want to make sure that I keep a Pen that i started writing with and to keep it the same. how often have I had a Pen just die on me or leak on my clothes and that is a Pain in the Behind to deal with period. so often I have put Pens in holders and then forgot all about them being there. alot of times if I needed to send something out I had a Pen directly for a Particular bill or a Letter,etc.... just from scratch paper and a Pen whenever somebody calls about a Product or when I watch Tv and I need to jot something down. I keep a Pencil close by,but alot of the time the pencil is dull and I just have it on standby though I hardly erase anything go figure. i remember back in the day having the Bic Pen that had the multi colors all as one and then that Pen lost all of it's inc and I was so upset but now I just keep it simple and I don't go without a Pen nearby.

Snow days as a Kid versus being Adult

back in the day when there was a snow day that meant a few things off the jump No School, possible all day viewing of tv or talking on the Phone or just sleeping. it could also mean shovling up snow to make some money if I felt like being a Business Man. and yes I did do various backyards for pay along with my buddys if the Snow lasted at least a few days.

now being Adult on a snow day hardly ever means a off day from Work no matter how terribly the conditions appear or seem to the Naked eye. and the traffic is a mess along with some people who can't drive in the snow. so now I see people making it around the mess known as snow the best way they can. also the thought of Icy roads or sloppy sidewalks and that gloomy look in the sky still is a downer.

the thing though is that just as a child I strongly prefer Warmer Weather and I am marking down the days until Spring is upon us.

New Kids on the Block getting back together

well talk about the 80's lovefest still going on. the latest is the possible return of New Kids on the Block. New Kids on the Block were huge in the late 80's through early 90's. they were put together by Maurice Starr who earlier in the 80's help put New Edition together, but after New Edition split from Starr,Starr said he was gonna go out and find 5 white guys and make them big. New Kids on the Block were the standard of the White Male Pop Groups that have followed since N-Sync,Backstreet Boys, 98 degrees,LFO and others. New Kids on the Block were selling albums, t shirts, buttons,Posters Pay Per view,etc.... they were huge and then it all came crashing down when styles changed the early 90's. so where are there fans now and what chance do they really have at even having a moderate Hit? today's Music climate is hard to really get a read on. but it always comes back to the Song and if the Song is right then anything is Possible. any Big time act of yesteryear is always One Big Hit away from coming back. if they tour what will be the reaction? it is about the Money with any Act touring, but it really is big time here and the question will be is there still any interest there for them?? time will tell.

Valley of unknown

dare to view a river and see the wisk of Water

in the essence of a few minutes what leads your mind

and where does the purity and stream find the

area that is spaced to capture your inner peace

as the day turns to night and the stars shine over

paddle down a road and feel comfortable times

within your Soul and hear the Birds dance

in unison as they send a message overhead

and where shall you encounter on this journey?

if you really knew and cared would you take that

trip? the point of return is important, but the Point

of escape is the real treasure for this moment in

Time

Music Artists on Steriods???

word came out over the past few weeks that 50 Cent, Mary J.Bliege, Wyclef Jean and Timberland all were on the Juice. I guess Athletes aren't the ones being accused of jucing up. but why would a Music artist do it again? well to look a certain way and with Image and video,etc... being thrown down people's throats it ain't so shocking I guess. but I ask if they are juicing then well unlike in sports where it is suppose to make you better what is the Music artists excuse? I ain't hearing no Great Material or dynamic songs emerging,etc... when I heard the news I was like where are the suppose results? now for the longest time I have seen some artists that I know have to be on the Juice but the Juice sadly ain't going to the Pen and Pad or to there Brain to become more creative with the Goods. this sounds more of a Ploy for Vanity but it isn't leading too anything. we shall see how all of this plays out. makes me wonder who all in Hollywood is on the the Juice?? I wish the Juice would correct the Blue Notes and off Music created by some of the folks accused of this. believe me on that one.

Sports takes

saw the Roy Jones Jr victory over Felix Trinidad last night on HBO and to say I was underwhelmed is putting it mildly. you can tell that these two fighters are well past there prime. good comeback for Jones though the Jones I remember in his Prime would have knocked Trinidad out in the 2nd or 3rd round easily back in the day. Trinidad did pretty good considering he hadn't been in the ring for a Grip. but still seeing two fighters way past there Prime and Peak isn't a good look at all.

College Basketball Parity is truly out of control. much like College football this past season all the top rank teams are vulnerable and that sets up a memorable final 64 tournament coming in a couple of months.

tired of the NBA nothing is really knocking me out, though I wanted to throw a Party because My Miami Heat snapped a 15 game losing streak. yeah 15 long hard losses that seem to pile up and never seem to have a end in sight. I'm tired of the All Star Game hype because the selection and hype is more talked about nowadays than the actual game itself. i don't really catch the vibe of the NBA until the Post Season anyway and maybe something exciting will happen.

and Tom Brady has dominated all the news the past week before the actual Pre Super Bowl media hype,etc... goes into full mode. is Brady hurt? or is TMZ making him the Male Britney Spears with following him all around New York etc....?????

Roger Federer lost his tennis match the other night and that is big news anytime because he is so unstoppable.

Tiger Woods is back to being Tiger Woods and Dominating again.

on a calm day

no horns blow and no smile goes un-noticed

as the wind touches the window the day

is a reflection of a temperture that chills

the skin and Soul and yet the peace

from within it is very soothing to the ear

and like music in the background that

speaks to a particular time frame in your

life

no shadows can cover the purity of

the sentiment and overall vibe that is

like floating on water and feeling the waves

that bring all the maddness of the World

at least for the moment and time

to a still

what makes a good haircut?

is it how much more noticeable you appear to others? i finally got a haircut after about 4 and half years recently and does my head feel so much better for it? I can style my hair with my doo rag and use my brush. imagine trying to style and comb your hair through snalls and other things keeping my hair all bunched up and locked in. so I figure what makes a Good haircut starts with you yourself and how it makes you feel instantly and how lighter the world and the surroundings seem and appear. it feels like a whole new world and it makes me feel more relaxed and composed. i use to go to the barbershop way back in the day,but i can pretty much cut my own hair and also i know what and how I want my hair styled. don't get me wrong ain't nothing like going to a Barbershop on a Saturday and hearing voices giving you the 411 on every and any topic uncut. but what makes a Good Haircut is how it compliments you and your whole Being. now I can't imagine doing without one more often because it is a refresher to my Dome.

cough syrup that tastes good

yeah I have done seen it all but nowadays they got cough syrup that is like eating ice cream with all the flavors and berrys,etc.... I remember the days when taking cough syrup was nasty and it wasn't a happy face upon swallowing the syrup, but now they got all kinds of flavors and even offering up more exotic ways of making it taste good. i mean that goes with exlax as well and other medicines and things but we gotta slowly say together that they are called a medicine for a reason. i know back in the day when 3 6 Mafia the Rap Group that Won a Oscar a few years back for there work on thge soundtrack to "Hustle and Flow" had a song out called "Sipping on some syrup" that had quite a few people making trips to get there drink on,but I never understood the appeal then and I certainly don't now. this is a cold time of the year and if I should get a cold I just want to take something and toss the bottle and not sit around and try to make the cough syrup seem like a tropical flavor of Kool-aid or something.

Props to Jim Brown on speaking out on Tiger Woods

i applaud Jim Brown for what he said about Tiger Woods not speaking out even more in the remarks by the golf commentator and the lynching comments. Jim Brown regardless where you stand on him personally, you have to tip your cap to a Man who speaks his mind and is direct and he is One of the Greatest Sports figures ever and a crusader for a better tommorow. the modern day Black Athlete while quite a few do alot and give back, where are the outspoke ones at? when you hear somebody say the word lynch that needs to set off a alarm ASAP. quite a few of the modern day Black Athlete is more comfortable with the Corporate tie in and living a life that means not having to answer social injustice questions or remarks that need somebody to speak out against. Jim Brown always has shown a spine and not afraid of saying what he feels where has those voices gone to? I think Tiger Woods is argubly the Most Important Athlete going today in the 21rst century but I also think he has to step up when remarks that cut directly and are personal need to be broken down. i don't believe the commentator at all because unless you live under a rock or just ignorant then you know what the words Lynch mean toward a African-American person and the history in america to go along with it. Much Props to Jim Brown.

why do people run away?

i often wonder what makes kids want to run away from home or adults to just venture away? what seems so good about leaving your surroundings when there isn't any known Problem per se? makes me wonder why we all go through that phase where our friends or somebody in our family etc.... just seems to have it going on and what we have isn't up to par. what is the motivation and is it something that you feel out of the blue or is it something you plan in advance? as a kid I wanted to run away for various reasons but it was nothing about what another friend or somebody i was related to that made me want to leave. i feel for all the Kids and adults on the missing file. what drives anybody to want to really leave? there are many things that go through our mind. what are we hopjng to find and what is the ultimate goal?

telemarketing re-dial and dial and dial

ever have one of those days where you see you have 5 or 6 messages only to find out that you got on some list and the company or place won't stop calling and you ain't never heard of the place??i had it happen to me more than a few times and i have had to call said place up and ask them nicely to take me off there list and they said cool. I mean being added on lists is amazing in itself because what makes you qualified to be on any list and what research gives to say what you may like or not like in the first place? this isn't just computer generated either it's always been like that. you wonder what gets you put on a survey and what would you answer or not answer? funny how much this plays a part in what we want or don't want? so i was surprised at how just missing one phone call got me 3 extra phone calls which i never asked for at all. somebody has to do the job and i understand that but i just don't feel like dealing with it.

Hillary versus Obama we need Don King ASAP

now all due respect to John Edwards who finally last night woke up in South Carolina after many a week seeming very sleepy time and just going through the motions and staying steady in 3rd place amongest the democratic party. but Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama truly know how to throwdown. I mean they could do a Snap debate and it would be popping. or simply playing the dozens. they be getting all into it that I wonder where is Don King to Promote this fight when you need him around?? Only in America for the Presidency of America from the Democratic Party. I could hear Don King talking and I could see him grinning with the exchanges Hilary and Obama are tossing at one another. heck if the Hollywood writersstay on strike or Hollywood needs some characters or some new writers they need to call up Hillary and Obama because this is truly must see tv whenever they debate up against one another. they are so lively and spirited that to be honest I don't want the debates to ever end. this is the kind of fire power that sadly doesn't happen much in a boxing ring these days can we say flex Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr from last saturday night? i can't wait for the next debate. get your Popcorn ready and pop.

Heath Ledger dead at only 28

i saw this a few hours back and i was shocked. he seemed to have died over some pills or something. Ledger was a very Good Actor and he had wide range and depth. He was very good in "Brokeback Mountain" amongest other films. but reading about somebody at the peak of the careers taken there own lives takes me back to the days of the late Freddie Prinze who seemed like he was gonna be a force for years to come only to take his own life back in 1977 at only of the age of 22. life is so precise and way too short and if people need help and someone to reach out to them then folks need to listen. just because you are rich,famous,etc.. doesn't mean you don't have human needs and feelings. alot of people see people on tv or in film or in music and think they got it made and it seems like a walk in the park through life but alot of people never see the other side of the camera when there is no light on and the crowd is gone or no applause. this is truly sad.

Dr Martin Luther King JR Holiday celebrate and reflect

we all know the I have a dream speech but how do we apply what Dr King meant for the Whole World to embrace to this day in full meaning? we march and we strive to have a better today and tommorow for our children of all backgrounds and places should never have to be subjected to feeling of less value based on there skin color, background,etc.... today we reflect on a Man who changed the whole world and made us all feel Proud and uplifted as a people. we respect a Man who showed a path for a journey that would bring us all together and that wanting more is something we can all reach if we all just believe. Dr King wasn't just a civil rights leader but he was a teacher and a Choosen person who touched your soul. he didn't believe in War and seperating people. He was a Man who sacrificed his whole being as a person to support voices who didn't have a voice to be heard, he took up for People who needed to be seen and given a fair chance in this life. He was Spirtual and down to earth. He had a strong SoulFul Wife Coretta Scott King who balanced him out. He was blessed with his children and his message of Unity still holds true to this day and always will. we all must dream and make things into a reality for the entire Human Race.

New England Versus New York Giants super bowl 42

well it's on like popcorn and get ready to rumble. a rematch. just last month these two teams played on the final game of the season as the Patriots were bringing in there then 15&0 record going for a 16nth straight Win. Tom Brady Versus Eli Manning for it all. yeah another Brady on the big stage for the 2nd straight year. alot of People wanted to see the Patriots and the Green Bay Packers for the Tom Brady versus Brett Favre showdown, but it wasn't meant to be. this super bowl will be very interesting to say the least. Patriot coach Bill Belichik is looking for his 4th super bowl ring as is Patriot QB Tom Brady. the Patriots are going to the Spuer Bowl for the 4th time in the past 7 years. History could happen in 2 weeks as the Patriots look to go undefeated. can the Patriots go 19 and 0? or is history on the New York Giants side? something has to give in a couple of weeks. this year has been redeemption for the Giants. Coach Tom coughlin and Giants Quaterback ELi Manning were both under a whole bunch of pressure and they made it. this should be a interesting game. get ready for a Historic Super Bowl. let the Hype and talk begin.

losing important things like Keys ,cash,etc..

have you ever been out and about then it dawned on you that you lost something that you know and you can't find it anywhere at all? what are the most common things to be lost? could it be credit cards, cash or your keys?? how often does it happen and what was the most significant thing to lose in recent memory? i have lost money over the years. big money at various times. just going out and about. recently upon looking for my key chain I was looking like a deer in headlights. you can have a one Man search party going on for what you are looking for and still not find what you lost until you least expect it. funny how things can be staring right there in front of your face as if to say Hey Dummy it was here all the time just wake up. it is as if Fred g.Sanford is cracking on your ability to not see the obvious and in so many ways things aren't as complex as they seem to be and yet the ability to think and not put what we really need is a lost art for quite a few of us many a time.

Love is

many mental blows to the Mind and soul

the words that speak louder without words being uttered

the feeling you get when you feel there is no one else in the world

a feeling that captures your dreams, imagination and wraps you up

a sentiment that rewinds in your mind like a video of countless clips

it is tears, laughs, humor, hurt, hunger and hangover

distance to the a mile, a walk beyond time

a ticking movement that plays over and over like a sample

a Groove and tone that sings into your whole being

and will make you feel that whole spirit no matter

where you are or what you are doing

Mike Carey to be the first Black Referee in the Super Bowl

this coming febuary 3rd when the Super Bowl starts the first Black Refree to officate the Big game. Mike Carey gets the first honors for a Black Ref and I say Congradulations but how come so long and so late? almost 20 years to the date when Doug Williams became the first Black Quaterback to not only start but also become MVP of a Super Bowl. it's a catch 22. on one hand it's a great accomplishment but the Super Bowl is well over 40 years old and it is bothersome to still have to deal with Black firsts in anything but especially in sports where Sports is the number one blender of anything because the field should be for all. nevertheless this is a great accomplishment for Mike Carey and hopefully in the near future there will be other African-American Referees having the chance to call the Big game. just as last year Tony Dungy became the first Winning African American Head coach in the big game and Lovie Smith was runner up. more glass celings need to be broken as always.

Eli Manning gets no Seinfield in Green Bay

well this weekend the New York Giants go to Green Bay to play the Packers and it is typical Winter Weather in Green Bay. lots of snow and that means sitting in your room until it's game time. well word got out that New York Giants Quarterback Eli Manning is a fan of the tv show Seinfield the local station in Green bay yanked the show off the air this weekend.it's ole fashion messing with somebody's head and it might or might not work. as if Eli Manning can't go out and get the Dvd sent to his room?? unless the video stores in Green Bay are told to ignore him?? anything for gamemanship and just taken something way out of context and hand. sports fans are like that though if they find out you have a thing for something they will mess with your head, but this is a whole different extreme. the game itself should be very memorable since it's gonna be cold, cold.

it's already over for Eddie Murphy and Tracy Edmonds

i usually don't trip on Hollywood relationships because most of them at least to me come across staged and rehearsed as if what you see on a big screen ain't near enough? Eddie Murphy One of my all time favorite Comedians and all around Entertainers. but Eddie been tripping over the past few years hard to say what is up with the Brother. Tracy Edmonds the ex wife of R&B SuperStar Babyface got married to Eddie two weeks ago and now it is over. they got married in Bora,Bora near the coast of France. now they say they aren't gonna tie the knot stateside and just threw a curve ball. word was that they were arguing on there wedding night, but there had to be more at work unless Eddie and tracy were trying to give Britney Spears a run on short term marriages? i think right about now Eddie Murphy should consider doing a live stand up tour and get back to that funny, funny, funny side of Eddie Murphy. if people go to a whole different country,pictures,etc.. and put themselves out there to be acknowledged and have something like this go down is a real puzzle. i'm waiting for a Eddie Murphy punchline at any moment. and that old Eddie Laugh.

Golf Weekly has a Noose Cover

in light of the comments that Kelly Tilghman made after Nick Faldo said about Younger golfers challenging Tiger Woods. Tilghman said that maybe if the Younger golfers would take Tiger into a back alley and lynch him is what jump started Golf Weekly to cash in on the cover story with a Noose. the cover is painful and a reality to me as a Black Man. i mean Golf Weekly is touching on a subject that America has never said Sorry for and as every day and night goes by a ugly chapter in American History is never talked about. the Subject of the Matter the Great Golf Pro Tiger Woods whom I am a huge fan of and supportor of. but he never really talks much on the issues. the interesting aingle in this and Irony is that alot of Gold courses either don't want or still try to deny African American membership. there is never a good time to talk about anything, but everything must be talked about. seeing the Nooses truly tears me up. Jena 6 last year and the reminders of a not so distant yesterday that is never that far behind. Golf Weekly is going into a area that is bound to generate Controversy which they wanted and got,but what will become of the main subject at hand and you can't change how some folks still truly feel in 2008 despite the fact that Tiger Woods is carrying the game of golf and has changed the game forever. imagine if Tiger Woods had people talking as much as this Cover is bound to do?

American Idol is back

so American Idol is back and who are going to be the next big acts to hit the stage and capture the attention of the voters of Idol? season 7 started up last night and it is business as usual. now Idol had a off year last year and also hearing that several former Idol participants have been dropped from various record label deals for not meeting the quota of sales. the show has Randy Dog Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell all back and ready to either praise a singer or clown them. from head to toe they are checking out every detail and looking for that next "It" act. Ryan Seacrest is outside the doors or handling the dutys of bringing a act to the judges. now will there be a true break out act this year or will there be alot of parity which has clouded AI over the past few years? does Idol still have that gotta see it feel of say a few years back? not as much so. but given the strike on tv Idol will get a good run regardless if the show has already peaked out. still the poetential to vote and see who could be the Next Big thing always gets alot out of people. all the usual catch phrases and moments of folks who have no business up on a stage to the people you pull for or might even know will keep you listening and watching.Daughtery,Kelly Clarkson,Carrie Underwood are all doing quite good and the same goes for Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson. who will join that circle next? stay tunned and there are other acts who have been successful through Idol, though not as many are gonna make it still we watch.

Happy Birthday Dr.King

today is the Offical Birthday of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr a National Hero that gave his life and fought for Civil Rights. the Man is a Hero of mine and I will always hold him in the highest of regards. he is a Man who truly changed the whole world and made the whole world take notice. His early death at only 39 is still hard to digest. he was a Great Speaker and Motivator who embraced change and spoke his mind. he spoke of making the world around us better for today, tommorow and paving for a better future. his words and actions are the standards of what all aspiring leaders past, present and Future aspire to be and remembered for.

he is a Man that is a National treasure and a he is a MountRushmore figure that truly made everybody accountable for there actions, words and meanings. He is Part of us all.

storing Past Holiday Cards

funny when i encounter past Holiday Cards and the sentiments expressed and talk about having a mini day dream for a split second or two. had to get a box to place so many cards that i had collected over the years. every have cards from people you use to be cool with or just had a fallen out with and no longer keep in touch with and you still have there cards? what do you do with those particular cards and what are your feelings on them now? did you want to tear them up because of the memorys and feelings? or did you say you could still cherish those sentiments and go by the old saying it is the thought that counts?? the decorations and designs and the creativity that someone presents to you as a card speaks volumes and how you view the overall presentation. what do we look for in a card and does it capture us as a full person? after all of these years does a particular card still say so much or can you look past it?

Photo Album Book

this weekend I decided to sort out pictures from the past and reshuffle my photo album book. be it relatives that are Living or who have passed the memorys and feelings hit me all at once. seeing pictures that i haven't seen in a minute truly get to me in a good way. now mind you I'm not the person to get caught up in the past because you can't ever bring back those times, but you can always remember the meaning and the time that you were having. i have 2-3 books with family and some friends in pictures through the years. you see photos with particular hairstyles, clothes,etc.... and have to reflect and crack a smile. but it is alot of fun just putting together pictures and having a theme. My Aunt and Uncle use to have a Photo slide back in the day and yeah I said Photo slide because that is so Last century but in a cool way. SMILES!!! so this weekend i made it a point of collecting pictures and making sure to enjoy the moments.

Foods for Winter

this time of the year i tend to welcome Soups and Crackers as a nice hearty welcome blend.
i like breads and toast that sooth and warm the soul. Hot chocolate feels good as well. believe in warm soothing foods that relax and make me mellow as I prepare for a cold or cloudy day.
and from days past I wanted food to make the day feel warmer because if I was cold there was nothing like a warm sandwich to make me feel good. call it comfort food.

what makes you feel warm during this time of the year? could it be campbell's Soup or warm Milk or a Pot of Chilli?? it's interesting how we eat from one season to the next and what might fly now isn't anything you would eat in 2-4 months down the road. i look for one main hearty meal that will carry me for half the day and then I prepare into the night time and just go from there. i know what makes work and i have added a few things. Oatmeal worked back in the day for the cold, cold mornings. i might get back into that Groove again. who knows but I just know comfort food for my Soul.

Soulja boy crank that 3 million on digital downloading

the most catchy song of the past year belongs to Soulja Boy with his Crank that soulja Boy) which has sold 3 million digitial downloads becoming the first song to do that. it shows that people still want the single and if something catchy comes along that moves them for a minute. Soulja Boy is Only 17,but he came up with a song that had many people doing the dance and also was catchy everywhere for a while and even still. the great download digital era is truly upon us. oh if you go back in the day when you'd do the running man or Moonwalk to your local record store to get the latest 45 and yeah I said 45. then the Cassette single, Cd Single and in between the 12 inch single or vynl record. technilogy changes but the demand for a song is timeless. especially a song that you had to learn the moves and the latest steps to. no matter what the latest dance craze or IN thing of the moment everybody has a song that just makes them feel that Groove. now in the era of the download digital you can have it as a ringtone or just blast it on your computer and do your dance and never leave your chair.

Marion Jones got 6 months today

there was a time when Marion Jones could do no wrong. now she is facing 6 months in the joint, Probation and she got stripped of all of her gold medals. now she also was charged on a tax fraud scheme that i truly believe that got her the actual 6 months. i think she is being targeted a bit much. I ain't saying she doesn't deserve the time she got because she lied and when you lie to the Feds it is pretty much a wrap unless you become a snitch, but i do believe that her story has been pushed and made to run her through the mud and back. i feel that her story ain't over and America loves a comeback story and i feel that act 2 of her life and story has more in store. Marion Jones was at one time the most Beloved American Female Athlete and now she is a Stat and being shunned by many, but i do believe she can be even more important to the youth and have a long reaching impact and vibe. time will tell.

Kelly Tilghman suspended over remarks on Tiger woods

so finally Kelly Tilghman was given some suspension for her racist remarks regardling Tiger woods. she said that in order for other golfers especially younger ones to keep up with Tiger Woods that they should take Tiger to a back alley and lynch Him. I call that directly Racist and loaded but no shocking or surprising unless you truly believe that this country is making changes. I mean we have a Black Man running for President and you have a Commentator making remarks like this on the Golf Channel just last friday? it tells me that 2008 isn't much different in mind set than 1908. I refuse to defend or give this Woman a pass for a heat of the moment type of comment. it was in her from the word jump. the bigger picture at hand is that alot of these Country CLubs were Golfers play are racist to the Bone and don't have a Answer for the Dominance that is Tiger Woods. Woods stays classy, but He has had to deal with racist remarks since day one. fuzzy Zeller and his loaded remarks. now i always say and feel if you don't like somebody because of there race or being than just say it,but don't come back with a 15 minute letter saying Oh I slipped and I didn't mean quite like that. when you say Lynch and a Black Person is mentioned in the same context it can only mean one thing. Kelly Tilghman felt privledged to say what she wanted and many people of her mind-set will just pass this off until somebody else says something else. it's very troubling and sad. Tiger woods has changed the culture of golf but he is still seen as a Black Man in unwanted territory.

People's Choice awards:Please get the writers back

I saw Queen latifah hosting the People's choice awards last night and I do dig me some Queen latifah. She is very talented and very Beautiful and I have followed her career since back in the day, but that mess last night was horrible. I mean tape delayed winners and the delayed vibe was just weak. bad enough the Winners were acting all Hollywood like. you can tell that quite a few folks out in Hollywood need a telepromoter ASAP. why even broadecast shows like that in the first place? you are just showing the same few past clips of People who have won in the past and since nobody can cross the line it is truly a Bad joke. now Sunday's Golden Globe awards show is cancelled as well due to the fact of no writers. this is truly getting worse. I Mean this show was so generic it wasn't even funny. still I was trying to give it some shine, but it was a mess and it shows how badly the writers are missed and needed. Pay the Writers and end this nightmare as soon as Possible.

Throwndown in New Hampshire Primary's

well tonight on the Democratic side it is Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton a showdown. then on the republican side you got John Mccain and Huckabee and Romney. this is suppose to be a step toward claiming the particular party. while Barack Obama is the hottest Canidate going and you have the name brand of Hillary Clinton, there are other interesting people throwing there name into the mix. the parity of the election year gives everybody some hope and it ain't over. i watch CNN to see how the vibe and where things go overall. i keep a eye on how things are going down. the Primarys back in the day were always on my tv set no matter where i lived. Politics really gets people all into some serious debates. issues, appeal and overall balance is what it all will come down to in the big picture i truly believe. Primary tuesday is gonna continue to generate quite a bit of a buzz.

as the Roger Clemens turns

Roger Clemens was on 60 minutes last night defending himself against alligations of Steriod use. Roger Clemens to me is a Hall of Fame Pitcher and One of the Greatest Ever. so nothing will change my mind on that. the trainer told the Mitchell Investigation that he shot Clemens in the Butt with a Needle for HGB the Growth Harmone drug. Clemens denied it last night. Andy Pettie a teammate pitcher and friend of Clemens was said to have been injected and he acknowledged such use. now adays in sports it's Guilty until Proven innocent and no matter what once the words or your name is attached to it then you are assumed to have used and been injected. now where as the Clemens turns kicks in, the Guy claiming to have injected Clemens talked to Clemens on the phone friday and basically was like sorry about this Homeboy and don't take this personal. it is a PR mess. now Clemens is suppose to go to Congress on the 16nth of this month and defend himself. what will happen next? Clemens says he is retired from baseball and doesn't care about the Hall of Fame and he spoke out and loudly during his press conference today. nothing has ever been Proved against Clemens or anything directly. but the mention of your name at this level brings out the doubters. and this Soap Opera ain't gonna end anytime soon. the 60 minutes interview with Mike Wallace was a very interesting Q&A to say the least.

LSU Versus Ohio State College Football title game

tonight is the big game in New Orleans as LSU battles Ohio State for the National title, but more importantly this is a Win for the City of New Orleans. fans coming to watch the game and this is a good step toward at helping rebuild New Orleans. the game is always the end all be all though this particular year in college football has had so much pariity and so much un-predictability that is hard to name One team as the true National champions this year. hopefully this game will help find a Answer, but then again it might just leave more questions and pushes for a Playoff system. but the city of New Orleans which still has so far to go as far getting back on track in the Post Katrina Storm, gets a lift with this game tonight. I'm a Michigan Wolverine fan and I can't stand Ohio State though I respect there defense. it would be a Homecoming Win for LSU were they to Win it all tonight. should be a interesting game. i don't like having to wait a week for the title game and dealing with a bunch of corny made up Bowl games. I like the Old days when there were 4 or 5 main Bowl games. not the 99 other Bowl games we have now that unless you go there or know somebody who goes there or lives there is gonna care about the teams or the game.

running a red light and stop signs

lets be real most if all people have done it and what did you think once you did it? were you more worried about hearing a Police Siren coming behind you or hitting someone or a Animal? it's a trip how people seem to get faster as the light gets red,but will slowly creep up when the Light is Yellow. go figure that one out if you can. stop signs as well I see so many people drive past then and then they might stop or look at you crazy. I mean I wonder where the DMV teacher is when you need him again? I mean some folks get there road runner when it is a red light or a stop sign, but start driving slow on Green like they were caught in a twilight zone or something. i make sure to look both ways as I was taught and also to look out for the next fool driving as my granny use to say.

in a time travel

if I was a Spaceship and I could explore time

where would I go? what did I envision on this trip?

if I could read and find treasures that told me of

the future or information that would grant me

superior intelligence would i seek it out?

what has the time on Earth told me about today

yesterday and the future?

if I could fly and have wings guide my journey

would my brain store all the information

and allow me to be sweeped in all phases of

the Human time frame

we are our own clock

and we are part of the

many places, phases

and purposes

a new Calender is put up

had to finally come to grips that 2007 was finally over and what a year it was. now it's time to put the new calender up and count the new days. funny when the days or months go by you just go through the motions as the seasons change and either the days grow longer as the nights grow shorter. reading all the various events that take place throughout time. most people know the general holidays, family and friends and maybe somebody famous Birthdays and of course ANniversarys and special events, but generally speaking certain dates and events aren't shown unless you get a calender that points out particular dates and acknowledges them. I enjoy Calenders that acknowledge History, culture and events those tend to make me read and be observant. so as I type and glance at various dates I feel like I could Go On a game show where there is trivia and do quite well. 365 day just becomes a blur after a while but not when you can read off the calender.

Barrack Obama and winning in Iowa:Racially

well Barrack Obama did something that no other Black Presidential canidate did since the days of the Rev Jesse Jackson and that is win a State in a Primary election. now what does that mean in the big picture and racially speaking in America?? I'm just not conviced that America is ready or ever will be ready for a Black President. now to Barrack Obama's credit he is a well spoken Polished and stand out guy, He can give a speech and is very articulate, Intelligent and has the right Cross-Over appeal that makes white Voters feel safe and comfortable, but what does that mean comes issue time? can He speak on the Civil Rights Movements and the Racial segeregation of the Subtle and not so Subtle that still continues to Plague our Great Nation after all of this time? I mean what he has accomplished after being sworn in as a Illinois Senator in a few short years is truly remarkable, but He doesn't need to be Politically correct he needs to be Politically Conscious. it isn't about if America is ready for a Black President, it's about is America ready for a Black Person who can truly be themselves and acknowledge Race and work strong and hard to fight the ignorance and truly make this land one and for all. we need a Black voice that says America was wrong for Slavery and break down how the impacts and effects of that ugly chapter and History of America still haunts Black America in 2008. the Genocide of that Slavery through the Horror of this never ending Iraq war are subjects to challenge. to make sure all children get a balance education, better housing, tearing down Ghettos and Hoods and making everybody have a equal chance. Education, Health care, family time,etc..... I don't need or want any Window Dressing because it doesn't do anybody any good. Progress is made when people are truly accepted as themsevles. real change is about being aware and not settling for us or them mentality. so we shall see how this all plays itself out. it's good for the Obama Camp, but what is the big picture and sooner rather than Later real talk is required.

NFL Playoffs start this weekend

well the 2nd season of the NFL starts this weekend as the playoffs begins. nothing quite like NFL Post-Season play because so much can happen thinks to weather and injurys. now the heavyweight teams the Indianapolis colts, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and the Undefeated New ENgland Patriots all wait until next week to see who they get to play in the 2nd round of the post season. but this week has Pittsburgh up against Jacksonville which is gonna be a huge game. San deigo plays the titans which is a big game. in the nfc you have Seattle versus Washington and then you have Tampa Bay Versus the New York Giants. alot of interesting games to say the least. despite the year being prettty average at best the story of the New ENgland Patriots and the Indianpolis colts, Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers and different players along the way make it a interesting season. RIP to Sean Taylor.

when do you take down your christimas tree down?

i often wonder when is the right time to actually take down your tree? it's a sad moment that a tree you worked so hard on has to face a trash dumpster and that is the end of that tree and then 11 months later you do the practice all over again. i Beg for a Artifical Christmas Tree like Keith Sweat at a Begging convention gathering. and if you have listened to Keith Sweat you know he can beg with the Best of them. all the decorations took time and you had to have the right parts to have your tree stand out. so i tend to only want the tree down after a few days past New Years day. the sentiments and feelings in the air though make me want to see the tree until febuary. so when is the latest you have kept your tree up? did People look at you crazy? all the creativity and time it's so hard to part with that very tree and the Irony so many trees are cut daily but a Christimas tree holds a certain sentiment.

Holidays almost over and nothing on tv

i'm looking for something to watch and while there is college bowl games and a few things here and there, not much to find. I mean I be searching all with the remote and can't nothing. I know the Holidays take over everything, but on demand ain't showing me much. why does it seem sometimes that back in the day with 3-4 channels and a couple of side channels that there was more to see and view than with hundreds of channels?? i know that reality tv is coming back and various shows are forthcoming. but as i speak now I just feel like renting a movie and chilling and avoiding flipping the channels. heck come to think about it a re run of Frosty the Snow Man would be hitting right about now.

props to NBA Player Chris Bosh

gotta give it up to Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh for his campaign video where he says vote for him. i feel this is a Breath of fresh air. the NBA pushing the actual all star game is tiring to me and I get so tired of the marketing overkill and to actually see a Player saying vote for me and going about it in a cleaver way and manner is cool. the Corperate nature of the business has taken the fans out of the actual game to me on a whole so this is a happening concept. I mean Yao Ming is huge in china with the internet. i would welcome more athletes stepping outside of the box and trying to connect with the fans which is the most important thing at the end of the day. Bosh took a country Old Western approach and it works on all levels and is funny.

Leno,Letterman and O'Brien cross the tv line

so tonight Jay Leno, David letterman and Conan O'Brien all have new shows tonight with there writers back. now Leno and Letterman all took care of there writers over the holidays,etc... but then again they have the cash to do it. it shows that despite Hollywood being a land of fantasy, the realitys is that Hollywood is Greedy and doesn't want share the wealth which speaks volumes. late night tv has crossed that line with bringing in new shows for the new year and i wonder what the ratings will say in the big picture? what does this say for other writers who stand strong and firm at the way they are being treated? so will viewership be there or will some people avoid the late night shows that crossed the line? i wonder how this will all play out in time. without the writers there ain't much to alot of people who are on tv out in Hollywood. the attitude and arrogance over paying the writers what they deserve is just wrong on so many levels.

Happy New Year's Day

well we made it to 2008 and i'm watching tv as we speak. last night I watched the countdown on various channels as we said goodbye to 2007 and welcomed in 2008.

so today the real College Football Bowl Games that actually count start today though the big one is still a week away with LSU and Ohio State playing for the national title.

my Michigan Woolverines are playing against Florida today and I'm pulling hard for my woolverines and this also marks the last coaching day for Lloyd Carr the Woolverines coach. we won a National title a decade ago. wow that seems errie to even say.

elsewhere on NBC the first USA outdoor Hockey game between Buffalo and Pittsburgh is on right now. I was Born and Grew up early on in Buffalo and this time of the year is Ice cold. the game is being played at Ralph Wilson Stadium the home of my Buffalo Bills. it is Cold,Cold.

the mall is open and there are deals to get and money to spend though I don't usually get down on New year's day or any other holiday for that matter.

watching Movies and thinking of New Year's past of eating Collared Greens and Black eyed Peas. back in the day when I ate pork I use to eat Chitlins as well and they use to stink up my hall ways. Good LAwd they stunk and I forgot why and how I ever got into them again.

also doing some cleaning up and looking forward to a very Productive 2008. every year my goal is to make the next one even better than the previous one.
