be careful on New year's eve

tonight is New year's eve and there are gonna be people driving and having a good time. I hoep and pray that the roads will be safe and that people are careful. it is great to be in the moment and enjoying the Holiday but it is important to be responsible and also if you need a driver to get you home then take that road as to risking some one else's life and your own. also if you are going to a party make sure you handle your drinks yourself because somebody might slip you something so be careful at all times. eat and have a wonderful time but just know where to draw the line because so much can happen all too fast and that fine line between being careful or doing something you live to regret. not to sound all heavy hearted and worded super strong,but safety is a very important concearn for me on these particular holidays. New Year's Resolutions

every year there is the mind set of what will i do this year? what changes have i made and what do i seek out? funny how right before New Year's there is 99 new things that people envision doing and the reality is that maybe 2-3 of those things are actually accomplished. what is your goal? is it to make more money? better heatlth? better way of dealing with People or situations? I mean we all got something to look forward to and being Blessed. what makes a plan and what will make you set it all in motion? I'm looking forward to a Great 08 and wish that for everybody and lets always try to keep goals and think beyond the norm. it's easy to get caught up in a moment and not stay focused but it takes goals to further better us and make us driven to reach and achieve something. that is the power and beauty of life in seeking out and doing better than you had before and seeing things in a whole new light and a new year brings forth such things. the count down begins.

tonight the New England Patriots beat the New York Giants to become the first team in NFL History to go undefeated in the 16 game season era. the Miami Dolphins went 17-0 including the playoffs back in 1972 but this is the first of it's kind. also in the Game Tom Brady Became the first quarterback to throw 50 touchdown passes in a regular season and surpassed Payton Manning's then record of 49 touchdown passes set back in 04. Randy moss set the single season record for touchdown catches with his 23rd tonight surpassing Jerry Rice's old record of 22 set back in 1987. so many records set tonight by the patriots including the single season record for most points scored by a team in a regular season. the Patriots are just mind blowing and this is truly incredible. i have seen some Great teams but nothing like what the Patriots did especially on the Offense side. Tom Brady is the Greatest Quarterback that I have ever seen. Bill Belichek is One of the Greatest NFl Coaches ever. He is high,high on the list. now they enter the post season in a couple of week and there quest for Perfect starts,but it's time to give it up to them for a fantastic regular season. I love seeing records broken.

Food eating this time of the year

nothing like Grubbing during the holidays. I mean everything looks and tastes good especially when it is cold outside. hard to imagine a time period when I didn't enjoy eating during this time of the year. now in the Summer I avoid the fridge but this time of the year I get my eat on. i think the factor of staying warm and also just chilling and not trying to do a whole lot leads a hand into that frame of mind set. i stock up and just snack on something. i had a mixture of different types of Popcorn and some trailmix nuts and I was just enjoying that along with some Kool-Aid which just hits the spot. it's funny how the seasons of the year impacts the way i eat and what I want to eat and so on. now of course hot chocolate comes in handy,but alot of basic snacks just hit the spot and with the coolness of outdoors and since I tend to want to avoid that atmosphere and prefer being cozy and toasty by a heater and just stay laidback.

i like the idea of having these to buy what i want. you know sometimes you get things that just aren't what you wanted and when you think about how you would have spent the money on said item you think of ways to get a two for one in some instances. getting gift cards where Books, clothes, music are all good sound investments. the word is that this year more people purchased gift cards for other people and i understand why. what happens when you shop for the person who has it all? or the person who is never satisfied with anything given to them? so this alternative is rewarding and a ultimate gift. it allows flexibility and also keeps you focused on your budget and spending. all partys are relieved and happy. imagine getting something under the tree that you aleady have or something that reminds you of someone you broke up with or can't stand? yeah a Gift Card is a feel Good story that allows you the choice and that is what all you can ask for without asking for something.

the game between the Patriots and the New York Giants will be broadcasted on NFL Network, CBS and NBC as well. Tom Brady is going for History as is Randy Moss and the whole New England Patriots are going for History. the Patriots are 15-0 and are trying to become the first team to ever go 16 and 0 during the reagular season. this is gonna be the game of the Century in the NFL. the Patriots are a incredible team and have Won in so many ways. Tom Brady is a Incredible Quarterback. there defense is something else as well. they have been dominant for so many years and have set a standard. my Poor Buffalo Bills have to be in the same division as the Patriots so i know first hand of the Brady Reign and the Patriots Reign. i'd love to see them surpass those 1972 Miami Dolphins and Don Shula's team and create there own History. I like seeing new milestones reached. records are mean to be broken. get your popcorn saturday's game should be something else.

Will Smith catching heat over Hitler comments

me and my Homies always say that America Loves Will Smith well at least the box office where his movies are huge and his accessible personality and charisma. but when he said that everybody has good in them and he tried to half way make a point about Adolf Hitler in his way and take, he stepped on alot of toes. Smith's words were flipped like a Pan Cake and suddenly he ain't getting the same love he had just a few days ago. He had the number 1 film in the land with "I am Legend" and indeed with his longevity and versatility in the Entertainment Industry he can be called a Legend. but when he mentioned Hitler's name he caught heat that he wasn't expecting. he isn't the first entertainer to say something that got flipped and ran off with. there is a fine line of what you can and can't say. Will Smith is a Smart Cat and very Successful Man, but saying Hitler 's name does cause a reaction. Will Smith is the kind of person who sees good in all people and that should be respected,but the mention of certain people and certain events can cause some folks to take things a certain way and cause reactions that weren't meant to be that way.

Tiger Kills 1 and injurys 2 others

that was scary to read and hear about on the news. couldn't imagine a tiger leaping through a cage and killing a person and seriously wounding two others. what happens at a zoo and the fact that the animals are caged in are bound to have some kind of a effect. Animals need time to themselves and be free. they will attack be it if someone makes fun of them and taunts them or if they were let loose. this is truly a sad sad event but a reality of animals in the zoo who are caged in and locked in. i send prayers to all the familys and i hope that the zoo will better have better safety for patrons and also to allow the animals to be treated fairly as well.incidents as this are scary and hard to digest.

i celebrate Kwanzaa yearly and it is a cultural thing which uplifts the soul and spirits. the day after christmas is called Boxing day but for me it is the start of the african american acknowledgement of Kwanzaa which is a celebration of gifts and remembering family, friends and counting blessings and sharing the love. it is a powerful tradition that is felt by many family's across the USA. I celebrated Christmas and then i look forward to this particular time period. i bring gifts, books of group reading,fruit and share in family moments and remind myself of the past and the power and blessings of family members and the spirits that have guided and lead me to be blessed each and every day.

Christmas Eve and watching Roots the Gift

every year I watch the Tv mini series special on Roots which is called Roots the Gift and it is about gaining freedom on the most important day of the year. it's always been powerful to me. a reminder of Slavery in America and something that keeps me grounded always and also understanding what the past was and how if not careful the future can emulate a ugly chapter in American History. for me this represents the most important elements of american life and beyond. it is the ultimate christmas special because it tackles a subject that isn't nearly talked about near enough. understanding freedom understanding people sacrificing for a better tommorow and Providing a chance to being the best. i always think about the power that is life and how it changes so many feelings and emotions. Kunte Kinte is always a Part of me and my being. I applaud Alex Hailey for a story that needed to be told and shared. gifts aren't always wrapped under a tree or something that is the latest gadget or thing, it is a human being with sentiments that forever change our lives and we are a gift.

lost luggage

what happens to your lost luggage and have you ever had that happen to you? brings back so many memorys of times when i lost luggage and never got a dime behind it. my experience happen in the Summer one time and till this day somebody got a whole bunch of goodies courtesy of a Airline losing my stuff and i never got my things back or even any money behind it. yeah you move on and have other things go down,but losing Luggage still blows the mind from time to time. i feel for people who lose there luggage and these ordeals daily, yearly,etc... during the Holidays going to the check counter and finding your bags takes so much time. i only think back to this situation because i was at the Mall the other day and I came across Luggage and then I was having a Mini De Ja vu. you never know what moments will bring such moments. i actually use to day dream about my lost luggage and though it doesn't come up as much it does run through my mind say like a Old Girlfriend, Song,Album. certain things are just Human Moments period.

so newsflash this week Britney Spears baby sister Jamie Lynn Spears announced she was pregnant. at only age 16. it's really common these days and it isn't that shocking in this day and age. but when you are superstar's sister and your last name carrys weight along with being a actress on a kid's network like Nickledeon then there are some people frowning. Jamie Lynn Spears says she is keeping her baby and is going go on with life. depends on where you grow up or what you were exposed to. there is a gonna be comments and a divide,but the thing is as long as she is ready for the responsibility and is direct about the whole experience then she will be a better person and will make a even bigger impact. if Jamie Lynn Spears was say working at a wallmart 16 and not famous then would be a big deal? so the Star QuarterBack TOny Romo, His Girlfriend Jessica Simpson and Star Reciever Terrell OWens all got into the appearence of Simspon in the VIP Section In Texas Stadium last sunday where TOny ROmo appeared to not be focusing as he had a horrible game throwing alot of interceptions. meanwhile the cameraman caught Jessica Simpson wearing her Tony Romo Jersey with a Pink Number 9 and she was tugging at it. after the game and during the Week Terrell Owens said that him, members of the team and fans of the team would like Jessica Simspon to avoid coming to cowboy games. well Owens as the week went by said he was misquoted. but it has gotten out there and apparently a company in Milwaulkee is using Jessica Simpson Masks for the fans in Carolina during the game Saturday night between Dallas and Carolina. it has turned into almost a episode of the show "Dallas" with alot of drama and a whose who and emotions. the Green Bay Packers are tied with Dallas for the overall best record in the NFC and since the Cowboys beat the Packers earlier and hold the tie breaker the Packers need the Cowboys to Lose on out so the Packers can control Homefield and that is why the company in Wiscounsin is pushing these masks. it has gotta wacker and wacker as time has gone on.

Alonzo Mourning got hurt last night

and it was painful to watch him fall. he tore his Patellar Tendon in his Right Knee which in all likely hood means the end of his career. he planned on retiring after this year. he suffered the same injury that occured to Charles Barkley and it takes six months for full recovery. but Zo is a true Basketball Warrior and means so Much to not only the Miami Heat but also the city of Miami. He has help bring events and buildings that have given back to the CHildren and adults of Miami and other places. it was so great that in 06 that Alonzo was on the Miami Heat team that won it all and got Zo a Ring. he is a future Hall of Famer and a Great Brother on and off the court. also lets remember it was four years ago that Alonzo's Cousin Provided him with a Kidney and it gave Zo another shot at not only Life but also a comeback. ALonzo Moruning is a Champion as a Player and more importantly as a Human Being. He always played with all his might and hurt. when Heat Coach Pat Riley One of the Ultimate Winners in Basketball says that him and Mourning are joined at the Hip well that speaks volumes about Zo and what he means.

Guitar Hero versus actually playing a Guitar?

the game Guitar Hero is the hottest game out as we speak. kids and there parents are rocking away with Guitar Hero which features alot of classic songs,but while Guitar Hero does educate younger ears and minds I gotta wonder what happen to the days of kids just getting a Guitar and a Amp and learning how to play? so much of today is digitial and computerized and done in a way that it is played all for you with you hardly doing as much. the Next Jimi Hendrix out here might be lost with the way the technilogy pushes for things that don't always require the natural sounds coming from people's own finger tips. i applaud games and i am a fan of games,but when it comes to music I want it to challenge the mind as well. something about learning about a fret board and learning simple chords and structure and changes all on my own is something else to me. the days of playing Guitar Hero and Being a Guitar Hero seem to be a thing of the past in alot of ways. alot of Guitar players have submitted there licks and riffs to the game.

Christmas trees

well some folks got a earlier jump as soon as december came upon us and others waited. Chrsitmas trees are all about decorating and being real elaborated and designing a tree to the Max. I Grew up with artifical trees and I liked them just the same and also they were easier. sometimes i use to leave fake tree up for 6 months. it was so cool and kept me in a good mood and most of the time i was already in one. finding a star to place high on your tree is cool. putting pictures and home-made items on a tree is fun and cool. but when you have Christmas lights it adds a magical feel. turning the lights on and watching them are something special. the tree and decorations in a window are so cool and sometimes to this day I just walk by people's cribs and just view trees and decorations. that is a favorite past time of mine this time of the year. just walking down the street and checking out people putting in the time and work to have a happening decoration on there Property or doors,etc..... but the Tree is a symbol and a welcoming site that is timeless.

ET the Movie turns 25 this year

watched ET over the weekend and i was thinking about the time back in the day when the Movie first came out about the Extra Terrestrial that was directed and part of Film Director Steven Spielberg's creative vision. the film was huge upon it's release. oh the days of eating recee Pieces. after i saw the movie i found myself eating a whole bunch of recee pieces my own self. the film always struck a chord with me. imagine someone coming from a whole different planet and enviroment and being out of there element and making life on this planet? I enjoyed the freshness and creativity about this film. I laughed and felt so much emotion from this film. i enjoyed the bond and the connections made in this film. there was so many ET items and other memorabilla from the film. the cool thing about this film is that it was a one and done and didn't need a part 2. it left a lasting impact and touched alot of people. I still find it very uplifting and it shows you so much of the world that is out here and beyond. ET did Phone Home and touched down.

Athletes and Fame player hating is in full effect

the days of the successful Rich and Famous Athlete being carefree are over. still stunned behind the untimely passing and death of Washington Redskins Safety Sean Taylor or hearing about shots being fired at Nba players or Players being Robbed,etc.... the days of showcasing your wealth and cars,etc... have brought out more player haters than ever. the days of keeping your business on the low is now in full effect. these days the Haters ain't just hating with words it's coming with action and take over and in some cases Life and death matters. the envy is so strong. nowadays you gotta have a Bodyguard and side eyes to make sure nobody is trying to get your stuff. it use to be worrying about family or friends trying to cash in on you,but now Joe Blow is walking up and straight jacking. the Materialism is straight outta control and it is costing folks there lives. so much sense less hate going down and over what? nice cars, money and alot of chicks on a dude's arm and some folks can't take it. the modern Athlete is gonna have to take the route of the Entertainer and other Professions who have extra eyes for Protection. no fantasy in a Reality that can be a Nightmare.

Cell Phone Blues and 85,000 reasons to avoid it

hearing about that guy in Canada who has that 85,000 dollar bill is scary. now you gotta truly read the fine print and understand that every plan isn't the same and that the dollar amount varies from place to place. the Guy thought he had unplimited access on the web and other services but the fine print can truly shake you up. I hear folks complain and be very upset over there bills,but when you are in this guy's situation suddenly your bill is like a regular Ole Phone Bill do you remember those? oh the power of technilogy can do wonders and it can be Good and then it can be bad. this type of bill in a month hasn't been reported or mentioned before. i often think and wonder what life would be with a Cell Phone and then I see this Mess and I tend to just deal with AT&T through the Home front. i can't imagine dealing with all the various costs that just add up and you almost never know they are there. you'd think something wouldn't or couldn't or shouldn't happen but you would be wrong and have the Wrong Number upon keeping costs down.

talk about a Film that spoke on a time period and Music that also did the same well this 2 for one Project forever changed the course of Pop culture Forever. the Film made a Younger John Travolta into a Household name. it told the story of a Italian Painter by day and a Dancing Sensation by Night and Him hanging out with His Homies and also his family life which was Old School and dealing with a New vibe going down. the film was very influential My Uncle even was doing the Pink Panther dance back in the day and the White three piece suit and the shirt on the outside was huge back in the day. that film captured the full imagination and then some.

the Soundtrack with the Musical genius of the Bee Gees was Incredible. the Whole Soundtrack was tight,but the Bee Gees were the Main Artists and Writers on the Project and it gave them a Huge Platform to showcase there Greatness and depth. timeless classics. Disco was Huge back then and truth is it never left it just got a new name called Dance Music,but before ther backlash and Hate the Music was the driving force of the time period much like Hip-Hop later became.
the music still hits home. the Bee Gees were a Inspiration for Michael Jackson who said that the success of the Ever Soundtrack which is the Biggest selling Soundtrack Ever in America inspired Michael Jackson's Own BlockBuster "Thriller". Genius Inspring Genius.

going to a Christmas Party and what to Bring

got invited to a few Christmas Partys and really don't feel like going. the thing is unlike the 4th of July or Memorial day, Labor day when the weather is warm I just don't get into going to somebody else's crib during the Winter Holidays unless Relatives and I know the food and the vibe. i find myself wanting to go to People's Houses or just general Christmas Partys and I think I just want something simple. I like to chill at the crib and watch tv. i don't want to bring nothing but a smile and to just have conversation, but in all Politeness I just avoid going outside and stay to myself. as a Kid I would go here and there but as time goes by I just don't feel like going. I wonder if this Particular season strikes a Nerve with me back to Childhood? but I do get invites and I ask outloud to myself if this were only the Summer I'd Be down.

today was the day when Major League Baseball Players allegedly linked to Steriod or other enhancing Drugs were revealed and I ask what does it really mean? also you cant go back in time and change things. Baseball lost a valuable season when the 1994 season was cancelled and no World Series. now rewind back almost 9 years ago when Mark Mcgwire and Sammy Sosa were on a classic Home run race and battle. it captured the imagination of the Baseball world and Brought the game back. now there was talk of steriod use,but it wasn't until former Major League Jose Canseco had his book out called "Juice" that open up the floodgates. the thing is that Baseball Commisinor Bud Seliq and the rest of Baseball elected to Look the other way. now I have always said that with watered down Pitching, a wider strike zone and Ball Parks that are built to make the ball jump out quickly along with some suspect baseball's themselves how can you point a finger solely on a Pitcher or a Batter? today Baseball Pitching Great Roger Clemens got called out and that has been the whole talk on sports radio and on tv. but if you are a Hall of Famer already none of this should change anything. Preception is Preception and there was no law against usuage of anything back then and also nothing was ever out-linned. hard to prove things when ou have alot of half truths, Snitching and hearsay. its a Mess and there is something there,but in the bigger picture this was a much a do about nothing because what Proof do you have? but this was used to take over the airwaves today and still doesn't answer any questions but Just asks more. Bottle Coke Cola and Egg Nogg for the Holidays

during the Holiday season I have certain things that i have to have to get in the Mood for the season and various occasions. two of those things are Bottled Coke Cola which I have always dug since way back when. Egg Nogg is the other thing that I just want for this particular time period and I never get enough of it. when I see the Bottles of Coke or even hear them clacking together I get happy sight on seen. the smooth cool taste and feel of the Coke is So cool. Egg Nogg unlike some folks I know who want to mix the Nogg with Rum or some form of Alcohol I just want mine straight up and nothing extra needed. I have things that just mean so much to me for a time period. I assume that other people eat and drink certain things in a Holiday or a time period thing and then forget all about it. I drink Coke in the can the other months of the year,but I mainly think about the Bottles either when it's real Hot outside in Summer or during the Winter Holiday Season. funny huh?

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Guitar Legend Ike Tuner passed today at age 76 and you wonder which Ike Turner will be remembered? will the ROck and ROll Legendary Musical and One of the Forefathers of Rock and Roll be the One or will it Be the Ike Turner who Man handled and while helping path the way for Tina Turner also was known to Beat up on her. Tina's What's love got to do with it Movie and Book didn't show Ike much Love. I often say that you have to seperate a Person from what they do and make sure you balance things out. it will be interesting to see how things play themselves out as to how he is remembered. His talent should be remembered,but we shall see. RIP

Foods and Drinks that cause Cancer and still being sold

it always trips out when I hear that this kind of Meat will cause Cancer or drinking this kind of drink will cause this or that. I mean if things are that bad for you then why is it sold to you as a Consumer then? I mean everything we drink and eat can cause all the same effects and yet we need those things to function. explain away the most healthy eating person can just drop dead in front of you and then somebody who stacks up on tweankies and cupcakes lives a long long time. all luck of the draw and other elements. all the good stuff is always bad for you and yet there we are still going for that the most. I remember back in the day when all you could eat be it at School,etc.... there was a eat whatever you like and eat and drink as you please. ask a Doctor what he thinks and he might have some Three Muskateers Candy Bars sitting on his desk laughing. nobody knows and yet studys say this and that. you just have to balance things out and at the end of the day you end up knowing what will work for you and what won't. in other words we make it up as we go along until told otherwise.

Vick is going away for a couple of years but just like the Atlanta Falcons Fans I want the Brother to know there is always a 2nd chance and when he comes out of Prison he can come back even bigger and better than before. He made a serious mistake,but he deserves another chance and i feel He will be even better from his Expereiences. Society is so quick to write somebody off,but never count anybody out. Vick is the most Gifted Quarterback that I have ever seen, but he never got the full talent around him to Compliment his skills and he lost alot of His groove through the years with the Falcons after showing alot of Promise.He touched alot of folks in Atlanta and it was Good to see folks rocking his throwback Jerseys and showing the love even amongest teammates. I have said that though he was wrong for what he did, that he was targeted and he isn't the only athlete or known or unknown person to get into Dog fighting but he will become the face of a Activity that goes back for so many years and years. He may be away for a while but he isn't forgotten and he was something else for quite a few of folks.

Power Outtage at my Crib

oh Lawd the Power went out last night. i was reading my mail and then BAM!!!!! I was like is this a bad joke or something? no heavy Wind or Snow or storng windy rain in sight. the thing was that construction was being put up and something hit a pole and effected a electric wire or something. I was madd to say the least. having to get clean and eat by One Candle makes you respect those old episodes of "Little House on the Praire" and the basic forms of living. no tv, no radio, no Power and the crib starts getting cold. then you get sleepy and hope that the power will come back on at any time. oh just wishing for a Generator to emerge in my dreams out of the blue. not alot going on and just waiting and when it did come back on I was smiling and thenwent back to sleep. a Power Outtage tends to put all things into full perspective and how blessed you truly are, though I got real colorful in the dark.

Winter Gloves

looking for the warmest pair and not having to spent alot of loot on them. I often try not to think about this particular time of the year because it means keeping my hands warm. got home last night and my fingers was cold. I turned the hot water on. turns out one of the gloves i had on had a sun roof through it. holes all in it and my fingers were cold. i have experienced this before over the years mainly from playing on cold conditions or shuffling snow,etc... so i got the hat, jacket and scarf but I need the right Gloves. Hands are so essential and having to deal with a chill that directly makes my Paws cold just ain't cool. i went out bike riding and was playing some basketball and then it gets far colder at night and the hands just were cold. tonight's big boxing match up of the undefeated fighters paired FLoyd Mayweather the Champ against Ricky Hatton. Mayweather had a answer for everything that Hatton was presenting and Mayweather knocked Hatton out in the 10nth round. He was controling the fight. now Mayweather needed an impressive fight considering his last fight with Oscar De La Hoya was a decent fight but not worth the Hype. Mayweather right now is the Best Fighter going, and he is starting to get some cross over attention. he did Dancing with the Stars and is starting to get some more shine. though the Boxing Game ain't nowhere where it once was, there is still a fighter or a fight that does capture attention and there is a Buzz. Pay Per view made a good amount of coin off the fight and next week HBO will have the fight on. a big time Boxing Match still carrys some weight and a Fighter like Floyd Mayweather is worth checking out as he continues to stay Un-defeated. oh I remember 20 years back watching folks linned up for Mike Tyson's fight against Michael Spinks and that fight lasted as long as a Good Sneeze. so it's good to see a fight last a bit longer and pair a couple of fighters trying to be the best.

the Retail Experience

oh the days of working retail let me think back to the routine.

have a Smile on your face though you don't want to smile fully.

Greet the customers though some of the Customers ignore you and could care less about you.

price tagging items though some of the customers made some of the tags disappear.

searching for a product and the manager or assitant manager are extra lost.

dressing up to company code though someone enters who smells, has bad breath and breaths all over you.

the Holiday Rush and it seems to be a out of control Pour of folks who act like they ain't shopped in many years.

the bonus though the Promise was stronger than the actual raise in the paycheck.

working with a Newbie oh the Newbie is all excited and very upbeat to get a jump start until the Politics of the Enviroment of the atmosphere puts all things into perspective.


now the tables are flipped being on the outside looking in and I do feel for the Retail working person,but at the same time it's better to watch them going through the situation than myself. but you never forget the basics of doing the Retail on a 9 to 5 swing.

even being Interviewed for the Job has a so called you really want in vibe about it, until you get in and then it's another job.

it's a Cool and Uncool experience all at once and you do it for reasons that have little to do with Money but more about a Cool Status symbol. that's why i always viewed it as. interesting huh?

the return of Vans the shoes

seems like back in the day the shoes Vans were a happening thing and then suddenly like most things they faded from view and wear. but oh something magical has happen recently, it's the return of the Vans. the checkered board shoes that look like Sneakers minus the string. they are stylist and I use to rock a pair back in the day and now I see the return of them coming back strongly for a moment. you know they say that everything that goes out of style comes back in style. never count nothing out. vans were the kind of shoe that you could rock with anything,but they were mainly a Summer time type of shoe to rock. i remember back in the day having a matching vans shoe and cap. part of break dancing and Pop locking back in the day. things go out of style for a decade and then look what comes back catching on again?

Mall Shooting

heard about this tragic event yesterday and I wonder what makes somebody go to a mall and open fire and then turn the gun on themselves? the Shooter had a rifle with him. can't imagine going to a mall and being scanned and check, though when you go to certain stores at the mall the alarm system goes off when somebody jacks something. will the Mall become like the airport and schools? a pleasure stroll through a mall to Brouse and check out things it meant to be feeling armed and dangerous. the security guards at my local mall never carry any weapons and if somebody jacks something then it's a track race. but when you hear about events such as yesterday then you wonder if malls across the country will ever consider beefing up? yesterday was a truly sad day.

adjusting to strange Weather

what to do when you are all dressed for the cold and come to find out it's gonna be kinda warm. or what happens when Snow or a mix of rain and Snow is coming down and yet nothing was in the weather forecast? in the late fall pre Winter how do you exactly get use to this particular season and not have it all figured out and maintain a straight face? imagine if there is a place where you know how the weather is gonna be no matter what the season. dealing with the Possibilitys of Floods and strong winds which can effect so much and leave you scrambling. dealing with Power issues and hoping the Power will hold up. every season brings a different feeling and vibe. on the straight up, Fall bothers me more than Winter because I never know what is gonna fall down from the sky. Winter is pretty straight forward and direct. you just get use to cold and more cold and the occasional rainy days or mild weather. who knows and why do i think about it? but what comes from the sky still captures my full attention and I prepare to adjust to whatever may be forthcoming.

50 Smartest in Hollywood??

i got the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and they had Will Smith on the cover as he was picked as the 5th smartest person in Hollywood and in Will's defense whom I respect and think has had a Grand career thus far and still has more to offer and can get even better if he is ever challenged. now I wonder what exactly makes you One of the Smartest 50 in Hollywood again? is it because your Movies make a ton of Money? is it because you stay scandal free? is it because you are endorsed and come across wholesome?

i mean to me the Smartest People in any business are the ones who control the money. in Hollywood if you can Green Light a film, select the director get final cut and don't have to worry about Opening week then you are smart. now I would like to know who are the 50 dumbest? to me that would be funny and also interesting. I bet the folks who stay in a Mess or so it seems monthly,yearly and in some cases daily will win that title in a breeze. somewhere the Smartest Ones were also all caught up in the Glitter and weren't always on top of there game. i laugh at lists because today what might make you smart can make you seem Dumb tommorow. oh well let's see who makes the list next year.

Bill Willis Black NFL Pioneer passed last week

last week NFL Pioneer Bill Willis died. He was elected to the NFL Hall Of Fame in 1977. Willis was the first Black Football All-American at Oho State back in the early 40's. He was selected as a defensive Middle Guard by the Cleveland Browns. he was came on board back in 1046 and heard all kinds of things about his size because he was considered undersized and not to mention all the racial taunts he heard back in the mid to late 40's as well. that in itself is a History lesson that needs to be told far more. many consider Bill Willis the Football Version of Jackie Robinson to Baseball in breaking down barriers. way more often than not Black Pioneers who paved the way and opened the door for future Generations aren't talked about near enough.
so many important people that have broken through always need to be acknowledged. endoresements, tv commericals,etc.. wouldn't have been available if it weren't for Pioneers as Bill Willis then we wouldn't have the Progress that we have made and it's important to pay respects and say thank you.

who wants to be number 1 in college football?

wtched Missouri go in yesterday as number 1 and then get smeared by Oklahoma badly. then watched number 2 West Virgina lose to Pitt. this is the craziest year of College Football that i have ever seen ever. what are the chances that so many 1's and 2's would go down left and right? i mean this particular year screams loudly for a College Playoff System. what is gonna happen to Hawaii who beat the Washington Huskies last night? Hawaii is unbeaten by the way but because of the teams they have played they most likely won't get a higher seed for the National title and that is a Ashame. so much parity that anybody can play up these days. it's a wild scramble for the title. quiet as it's kept the Corperate Sponsors are happy because the bigger name colleges have Moonwalked themselves back into the mix. now you have eight teams who all have a say and how will the voting go? this is like the 2000 presidential election all over again times two and it is a mess.

it Snowed today and I wasn't ready

i looked outside today and saw all this White stuff coming down and i thought I know I had washed my hair last night right? well ain't no Shampoo to match that snow that came flowing through the air today. it teased because it came in droves and then slowed down. sometimes you hear it is coming and even see it and yet you still aren't ready for it. i was like I'm gonna stay warm and lay low. I had food, heat on, and clothes on. I wasn't daring to mess with that fluff Cake out doors. i watched the news and was hoping that the rain would come and wipe that stuff away. folks can't drive or hardly walk straight in it. the only good news is that it happen on the weekend and that meant straight up chilling and watching tv. i looked at that window and i was like this feels like Frosty the snowman. I can deal with it but I'm counting down the days until Spring gets here. LAWD Huv Mercy all that Snow out doors makes me think of Tony Montana's table in Scarface.

World Aid's day and what do you think?

today was World Aids day across the Whole World and a reminder of a Serious diease that has no cure but has effected lives across the whole planet. there has to be talked and discussed than saying using condoms or not doing anything. I mean this is a real situation that has to be talked about. Black, White, Brown, Gay, Straight Woman, Man and Child are all affected. and beyond December first what will happen and how much closer are to finding a cure? yesterday I saw the Great and Icon Business Man One of a Kind Earvin "Magic" Johnson on BET's 106 and park talking his own battle with HIV/Aids and how he has dealt with it and he wanted people to get educated and to take care of themselves. with each passing decade and era we find out more and still need to know more and find a cure and to better serve the future.
