Richard Jewell died and never got a apology

this past week former Security guard of personal during the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 Richard Jewell died unexpectedly at only age 44. my cousin was working there during that particular Olympics which saw Muhammad Ali lighting the tourch. now there was a bomb threat and the Media was all on it. Jewell was a hero who help save alot of people during the threats,but a investigation had some fingers pointed at toward him and the Media went after him. some 6-7 years later the real suspect behind it got caught and recieved a lifetime sentence,but the damage had long been done and sad to say Richard Jewell past away way before his time as a Man who was never told by the Media that they were sorry. he did recieve some justice in getting some favorable acknowledgement,but the Man was never told he didn't do anything wrong. this is truly sad and he died far too young. he was really a Hero,but got treated like a vilian.

Katrina two years later

New Orleans is still in the same shape and that is not good. where is the crew and support to fully put the Big easy back at least half way together? i expected more re building and other advancements for the city,but i haven't seen near enough to suggest that the powers that be are doing near enough or even caring for the people of New Orleans. i know this is th greatest tragedy on American Soil and it is still being ignored and a great deal of it is racially. believe me if this happen in cape cod, beverly hills,etc.. then the city would be fixed up like tommorow. the media from the word go took a seperate appraoch and forgot about the Black folks of New Orleans. it is so sad to see what is still going down in New Orleans two years later. this is a Human condition that should affect all americans but something is wrong when a place as important as New Orleans is not only to America but also the World still goes almostg ignored. that is injustice.

learning about Tivo

i finally have discovered Tivo up close and personal and let me tell you where have i been? Tivo can truly make you feel tv illiterate. fast forward rewinding, skipping commericals and tapping shows all at once. I mean I'm late as Dan Quayle was with spelling Potatoe, but as they say better late than never. I enjoy speed forwarding through Commericals and watching a show un-cut and direct. Tivo is a way that should be the Norm to me. I wish back in the day there was tivo because I could have tapped and watched a whole bunch of shows left and right. but it's another cool high tech gadget that is worth investing in if you can afford it.

George Michael the Pop Star got busted a Decade ago in a Men's bathroom in Beverly Hills and everytime I hear about a Man being busted in a Bathroom with certain things suppose to be going down I can't help but think this is a George Michael episode. now Senator Craig is a Hard-Core Republican. Anti Gay Rights, also Far Right on other issues. so the Irony of this going down speaks volumes. I don't care how anybody gets there Freak on,but just don't play all rough and tough on tv and then have a full pitcher of Sugar in your tank.

little league world series baseball is solid

Pro Sports nowadays is just a scary place to be these days. but the Innocence of Little League World Series and play is taken minds off the day in and day out tabloid world of Pro Sports. now I ain't into judging folks and at the end of the day some issues and things just don't matter,but nowadays Pro Sports is just over-saturated with day to day drama and you don't know what is gonna happen next. something about a game winning Home run that wins a game is magical and re-captures the purity of sports and speaks volumes. i use to watch the Little League world Series on ABC back in the day and always remember players and some including Major League Star Gary Shieffield had a game Memorable game in a Series back in the day. the most fun these days in sports seems to be through watching these games and wondering who is gonna win. you sometimes wonder what happen to those days of the unknown,but then again in Pro Sports we still don't know fully??

seems that Hollywood girls who go to jail stay lesser than somebody who goes to jail playing the game Monopoly. Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton,etc.. there is always something going down and when they get busted with the goods there sentence ain't even working on the highway cleaning up litter worthy. it cracks me up at Nicole Richie, Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton getting down big time and not getting a slap on the wrist but more like a tickle and some hot shot lawyers getting a made for tv term. it's downright comical at the sentencing these chicks end up getting and it ain't like there first time. they are always into something or so it seems. the way there charges just mysteriously disappear as if Casper himself came along and made it all go away. drugs, reckless driving and just not getting Proper help. also all of these chicks are skinny like toothpicks. they ain't eating a thing. it seems to be the same song by the same wild chicks every other week it seems.

hard to believe it's been 10 years already since Lady Diana was Killed in a Car Accident and all kinds of Conpsiracys and the whole situation where the Media and Paparazi is concearned. now she was a person who was human unlike how some folks will portray her. she had her flaws and did her dirt as we all do,but she wasn't a robot and didn't come off stiff and Pompious as what is often associated with British Royality. She Rubbed Elbows with a whose who of the World and the big names around the globe,etc.... her death sent shockwaves throughout the nation and there was alot of grief felt all over the world. years later there is a strong sentiment about her legacy and impact as a person who was very given. her Marriage to Prince Charles was Must see tv from the Wedding back in the day which was a big time event in itself. She left two sons and there mother's impact and Good will is left through them and the people she touched. 10 years went by so fast and you can remember where you were when the news made it across airwaves,etc.... She left a lasting impact and people still remember her through it all.

well the king of Pop's Birthday is now a few days away,but twenty years ago he was making a return with his Album "Bad" which was his follow up to his larger than Life Album Thriller. now Bad was five years later. so much had change since MichaelMania. still nothing like MichaelMania before or since. anyway that Tuesday back in 1987 when Bad dropped it was something else. I bought the Tape and Vynl. I got the last copy and I heard the clerk tell a Shopper that it was just sold and I hauled Bootay down the street. anyway the Hype and vibe was at a pitcher high. I've always been a fan and always will. the Man is a Musical Genius and threw down on Stage. when Bad came out Rap was starting to become the latest new thing, New Jack Swing was in full effect and other Popular acts and styles were in full swing,but the Prospect of a New Michael Jackson back in the day was a Major Event and the videos that therefore were forth coming were gonna be larger than life. this album marked the last time Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones worked together on a Album. in truth Michael Jackson Albums have always had a Significant part in my life. and just remembering this album and the hype still speaks volumes toward my childhood.

Texas Rangers beat the Baltimore Orioles 30-3

now this is baseball we are talking about. you gotta go back over a hundred years to fully understand what took place yesterday in Baltimore. this is Professional Baseball we are talking about. this isn't a video game. now the texas rangers stink and are always in last place,but the baltimore Orioles are not much better and after this game they stank beyond belief. I don't think bums outside on the sidewalk could give up 30 runs in a game. now the game at once upon a time had Baltimore up 3-0 and then i saw 5-3 texas and I didn't think anymore about it. then I watched the scores at the bottom and it was 30-3 and I was like WHAT in the World is that? some teams in baseball don't even score 30 in a week. Jim Palmer, Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Earl Weaver,Eddie Murray, Cal Ripkin Jr,Al Bumbry, Rick Dempsey,Mike Flangann, are all having a Fred G.Sanford Moment right about now.

College Costs

thinking about what it costs to go to College is just plan crazy. you'd be better off spending money toward a House or a Bond or a IRA Account or maybe making a investment. the thing is people assume that going to College automatically means you are gonna get that high paying job and that house on the hills. as School starts back soon not only do you have to know what you want to do and accomplish,but you have to start off the bat. money and time are ticking. so I also suggest a trade school and also planning your own vision. I never got that college should make or break who you shall become one way or the other. the costs today speak to savings and planning that make the schools richer but what will they accomplish for the child you are saving for toward the future?

Michael Vick now what?

I still support Michael Vick and hope he will turn his life around because he has been blessed with a Great Athletic Gift. regardless of what happens to his Professional career he owes it to himself and also People who respect and acknowledge his talents to make amends and I truly believe he will. I wasn't believing the charges and didn't want to believe the charges though I know about Dog fighting from having lived down South. the cruelty s very sad and it hits home,but as Dion Sanders said, no two Men treat there dogs the same. Michael Vick isn't the only Athlete to take part in Dog fighting but he got caught and now must serve some time,but hopefully he can come back. this isn't the worst thing that could happen and there is a lesson to be learned. He will be bigger than Ever once He re-Emerges. He will be seen like the Sports version of 2Pac by some a Man mis-understood and Opinions vairy depending to whom you talk to both Racially and Socially. Michael Vick got a Great chance as a Black Starting Quarterback in the NFL. Vick still can be a Lasting impression with a sense of Purpose and value. His Next chapter of Life will be His best. buying those School supplys

yeah it's that time and already that time. funny thing is that some big time supermarkets already got the list for kids and there familys. it can really make you do a double take. when I was coming along we had to go to school and then get told what to get and what not to get. always seem the hardest thing to remember and get was a combination lock. remember the numbers and remembering it during periods was asking a whole lot on my poor brain from time to time. having teachers threatening to lock the door if you aren't in the room exactly or having to hit that combination and then race back to the room could prepare you for a track and field career though there wasn't a gold medal waiting for you when you made the class room in time,but a look of please be seated. so nowadays the locks are usually pre combinated and all you gotta do is get to where you need to be and the rest is taken care of for you,but those supplys still remind you that Summer is soon almost over. some times of the year always are there to remind you of a time not so long ago.

I'm not surprised or shocked this has happen and Don Imus is a Loaded Racist and has always been that way. the Suit is making Imus and the CBS network along with the Producer of the Imus Show all held accountable and rightfully so. Shock Jock Radio is mainly racist and targeted to spew whatever the particular Radio host wants to say. Don Imus is rumored to be getting a with Rivialed WNABC or something like that. either way he will be back,sad to say because the kind of garbage that comes out of his mouth is not needed. this past few days, Elvis Presley's Graceland Mansion has had over thousands and thousands of People pay there respects to the Man called the King of ROck and Roll. He was a Very Charasmatic and had alot of Personality to boot. He was the right artist at the right time. He blew up because he could SING R&B Music and Gospel. it was a Big Sell and deal for a White Artist to sing Black Music in the mid 50's onward. but Elvis Presley truly loved Black Music and embraced the Music. now he is getting alot of Hype and some of it was deserved but some of it was Media generated. but nevertheless the Man Sold a whole lot of records and he left a lasting impression and impact on alot of lives. that day back in 77 was a day some people will never forget. it was the death of a Icon and Legend who changed so much of popular culture. he was a compelling and Controversal Figure,but a Artist that still leaves people talking. watching sports these days is like watching a episode of Court tv. Sports use to be the great escape from the Real World,but over the past few years and even past several months there seems to be something going on left and right. in all of the main sports there is something going down. where did it really start to be exact? was it Tonya Harding and her male Cohorts who had a hit on Nancy Kerring's Knees on a skating ring? of course the OJ Simpson trial was huge and is timeless. but then before that there was Mike Tyson and his conviction and that was very debateable. I mean when did Sports mirror real life so much and we cant ever get that innocence of Sports back. drugs, sex,Race, Religion, Money,etc.... this year has been very memorable for so many reasons.

returning a item to a store

never a easy event and the attitude you can get speaks volumes. recently i returned a Walkman and yes I still Groove to tapes and buy walkmans and I wanted a new one. but i did a test listen and walked around just to hear how the tapes played and what the sound was like. well the player kept clicking off and the batterys were chewing up the time and also it was a fuzzy sound coming in the back on the left side. I ran back into the store with the sales slip and they didn't want to give the money back,but they had no choice. i don't like going back unless of course the item is real weak or i need my cash. i just would rather toss something into the trash and keep on walking. but sometimes if something is just that bad and it happens to cost a little something then you gotta do what you gotta do.

so i found out that K-Mart is gonna have more Ethnic dolls in stock because of there shoppers reflecting more diversity and my question is, hasn't K-Mart had a wide minority pol of workers through the years? I mean what has taken them so long to get hip to have a wider range of ethnic dolls and whatnot? also why do they have to broadcast a obvious duh?? i mean as long as they have been open and been in business certain things should be obvious and i don't buy that they have just discovered that there are more Black, latino, Asian,etc.. shoppers out of the blue. it's always been there.K-Mart is watching trendys and they have ignored the store base.

the tragic deaths of three black men in New Jersey

hearing storys about young, Younger, Middle Aged or Older Black Men in America in a tragic situation is a common occurance and yet no matter when i hear about it, it still is very sad and so senseless. the latest Horror involved three young College Soul brothers who were killed in New Jersey recently. it was a tragic story and there seems to be a suspect and maybe one more,but the Question is why? it's always been tough for a Black Man in America no matter what the age and place in America,but things sometimes seem a bit better at times and then you here of a situation like this that three young lives just got taken away and there isn't a reason or anything. i havew relatives in New Jersey and this is a Sad reminder of a reality that is a Obvious un-doing.

pre season football

yeah its football season again and it's time for Football. rooting for my Buffalo Bills. prayers are with Michael Vick and hope he can come back. I hope Adam Pacman Jones can come back as well as Chris Henry. I want Football done the right way and not any of the important folks away. this season is gonna be great. I always look so forward to Football Season. it means lots of Food,Drinks and Laughs along with other emotions. Pre-Season Football is a fine tunning for Veterens, also alot of guys trying to get a spot on the team. coaches trying to make a impact, along with other specialists brought on board to get the job done. I watch all Football and can't wait for the games to start to actually count,but I also keep a eye on off the field and hope the best will happen. the Hall of Fame inductions was touching this week with Thruman Thomas,Michael Irvin amongest others were inducted. RIP Bill Walsh.

the purpose of a Meeting is?

yeah I know we all have them in your line of work or through different situations and whatnot,but what purpose have they really served? you sit there and talk possiblitys and choices,but do you ever actually finish what you start in those meetings? also how much of your input is actually taken into account? when in school a Meeting meant bad news if you were the child and even worse news if you were the parent. Meetings can be cool if somebody offers a nice gesture or speaks kind words or doesn't waste time,but they more often than not make the ticks of a clock seem to forever stay in one place. day dreaming at a meeting is common-place and you are so relieved when it's over. Meeting and it's many meanings and we still haven't understood what it leads to???

dirty beaches

seeing this on yahoo today truly brought a damper to my eyes. as much as i dig the beach i don't want to see no dirty beaches. thinking about debris and other problems that are created where trash and hazard are around make for bed smells and also makes for a not welcoming visits. when you go through a beach in flip-flops you just don't want to worry about stepping in something or what might be on your toes,feet,etc.... so recently there is a report that there are four beaches to avoid and that doesn't sound good at all. I enjoy sight seeing and breathing in the water and viewing the sky,i don't want to think negatively of the surroundings at all.

X Man games are scary and dangerous

that dude that fell 50 feet on down is so lucky to be alive. now straight up anybody that is in X games is a straight up Sho Nuff Athlete,but they are also out of there mind. I mean when dude came crashing down like he did my whole body felt like it went south. it was wild and scary. then the next night a Motorcycle driver did a flip and he landed akward as well and all he did was just get up like nothing had happen. i watch because you just don't know what is gonna happen,but this is all very real and there is major damage to the body waiting to happen. X games is alot like a video game but it has real life drama and you never know how it's all gonna play itself out.

Barry Bonds tonight made history by tying Hank Aaron with Career Home Run Number 755. and I don't care what anyone says Barry Bonds is the Greatest Baseball Player of my lifetime. a 5 tool Genius. Great Hitter, Great speed, Great Outfielder, Great Self-motivator and Mentally as Strong as any other Athlete that has Ever Lived. you can't compare him to anyone else. He has done things up in a big way. this Incredible Feat also says so much about the Greatness of Hank Aaron who Broke the mark back in 1974 and he hit his homerun then record of 755 in 1976. this Incredible Record which is arguably the Most important number in any Professional Sport now has a New King on top. I think this is a Great tribute to two of the Greatest Ever in Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron. Barry Bonds is a Great Player and it feels good to celebrate this feat tonight.

a weekend movie gone wrong

so here i was already on a friday night with dinner ate and then popcorn and later dessert ready when all of a sudden a movie i watched just got gross real quickly than lately. couldn't even watch it while eating. trying to get a cheap laugh just made me feel even cheaper. hard to tell what is gonna work and what won't. always a in search of a Good solid laugh on the weekend. going through the video store and what do I find? it's like a fast food meal and while the packaging seems alright there could be a long night with a upset tummy. trying something next time that is less garbage is always another adventure that i shall seek out again in time.

the Minnesota Bridge that collapsed

that was scary and very tragic. alot of these Bridges are older and while a few tweaks here and there are down every so often, a incident as this reminds that more needs to be done. that was a scary sight yesterday in Minneapolis,Minnesota. it is believed that at least 50 cars went down. that truly is a reminder of how fragile and short life can truly be. my heart and prayers go out to the People and famlies where lives may or may not have been lost. when you see something happen as that did yesterday it makes you appreciate your own surroundings just a bit more hopefully.

it's August

where does the time fly and hard to believe that Summer is almost over already before it has a chance to fully get started depending on where you live. this month means either back to school or clothes and supplys to get along with Football coming back,also preparing for tv shows,etc... today I awoke and then I was thinking yesterday was July and this is August already and what am I gonna do today? the weather is still nice,but there is a sense in the air as DayLight savings time is starting to lose some of it's extra light appeal. to tell you how fast this month has flown by our local Ice cream man is just getting on the beat. hard to believe how fast summer goes and I can say that as a Grown up because as a child it felt the exact same way. always made my head spin thinking about that.
