the Oscars:what is the deal again?

award shows in Hollywood are fairly a buddy,buddy system in that there are hardly any surprises. it's not always the best actor or actress or film or director for that matter that wins. like anything that revolves around nominating anybody it's all a popularity contest&what somebody wore or who was with somebody is the most talked about thing around the water cooler, chat-room or at somebody's crib. so yes the Oscars bring in alot of viewership,but does it mean what they are presenting is worth staying awake for? all those Hours of what? to me your Oscar is your Fans are still paying to go see your work year in&year out. winning the Oscar is good for the person,but it doesn't mean people will still care about your career, can we name all the actors and Actress's who have won&now are Milk carton worthy at best now as we speak? die-hard Oscar fans aside, most people talk about the clothes or pick up on a vibe as to actually remember who has won. personally when it comes to the Oscars I'm not impressed especially when you consider how slow they have been about acknowledging Black People in film when it comes to handing out the Awards. there Progress is weak.
