Summer eating is so different

what is it about the Summer where you truly eat differently than at any other time of the year? is it because the heat? is it because of the extra Sunlight? what makes me feel this way? in the Summer it's either on the Grill or some cold cuts,but avoiding the bulk of stuff that I eat in the fall,Winter&Spirng. One Season of the year changes all of the foods i might crave. i don't want no Hot food per se,but the usual quickie Sub&some fries. June, July,August&Early September have a flavor all there own taste wise.

Remembering Len Bias:hard to beleive it's been 20 years

I use to live in Virginia&ACC College basketball is King down there. as we appraoch the current NBA draft I have to remember a sad story that is still haunting some 20 years later&that is the Untimely passing of Len Bias. Len Bias was a Great College Player for the Maryland Terps. He was 6 foot 8 the same Height as Lebron James. Len Bias got selected by the Boston celtics,but He died of a Cocaine overdose at the age of only 22. He was compared to Michael Jordan back then. Bias had the same gift as a Player&Talent to truly be a force in the NBA for years to come,but it never happened. imagine if Bias got to play with Larry Bird,Kevin Mchale&Robert Parrish?? we will never know because this Cat died way too soon.but he left a lasting impression&we just are still wondering what if.

USA Soccor:World Cup was there expectations??

I was laughing at some folks actually thinking that the USA had a chance at the World cup. it was nice to think the USA mght do a little damage at the World Cup,but they aren't on that level. there coach was tough,but also out of his mind with the way he was airing out his team. all those things along with simply playing against better teams did the USA in. Soccor isn't that big in America&one of the reasons for that is because the USA can't Dominate the sport.World Cup is Fun,but it just ain't caught on here fully&alot of that is the fact we don't have a Championship Tier type of team.

Aaron Spelling died

this Man at one point pretty much ran ABC Tv Programming. talk about a Man beign Prolific? this Guy had a hand in so many tv shows,tv movies&other motion pictures Etc... it was crazy. there was a time when there were only a handful of tv networks&Aaron Spelling was big time. if you are a Credits reading person as myself them you always observed names when it comes creating,executive Producing,Production,writing,etc... on a show. Aaron Spelling was a Giant in the Entertainment Industry. RIP.

MIAMI HEAT WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

it feels good. the Miami Heat beat the Dallas Mavericks in 6 games. Dwayne Wade was the Finals MVP. Shaq captures his 4th ring, Gary Payton,Alonzo Morning,Antonio Walker,Jason Williams,James Posey&others all capture there first ring. Coach Pat Riley Wins his First ring since 1988 when he coached the LA Lakers. it feels Great. alot of People had written the Miami Heat off,but they did the thing. it feels good to be Champions. my phone started ringing&it felt good.

Father's day Poem

Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Winning Qb released from hospital

Ben Roethlisberger was released from the Hospital yesterday&he is quite lucky when you consider he had a accident on Motorcycle. he wasn't wearing a Helmet. he got hit by a elderly Woman.what will the Steelers do? I bet when his next contract comes up I bet there is a clause where he won't be allowed to ride or he will have to wear a Helmet upon riding.football is a wild&Crazy game&if you survive that then you feel that anything else can be accomplished at the speed of light.hopefully he will be more careful in the future. it was a surprise hearing this happen,but I wasn't shocked&I hate to say this but he won't be the last Athlete or person to to go for that rush.

first&Foremost I have always felt that the FBI was racist&this just proves it even more so. how you gonna snitch out a Pitcher on the Arizona Diamondbacks if he doesn't wear a wire tape at providing you with information?? that is so loaded. this ain't the Sorpranos. the Powers that Be are going after Barry Bonds&this takes me back to those J.Edger Hoover days when Black Figures in forms of Entertainment,Social&other areas were under a file. this is embrassing big time. we got a war going on with kids coming back in body bags&whatnot&this is how our tax dollars are being spent? Major League Baseball ain't dumb as they like to pretend to be.also it's a known fact that the Hate for Barry Bonds is extreme&Personal. He passed Babe Ruth&this is Personal big time.it's the same ole same.it's like Big Brother is going after the Bad guy. this is a bad Ugly side to the game which needs no more outside interference.

so the Manger of the drink "Cristal" doesn't like Hip-Hop

so the Powers that be at Cristal don't like the fact that Hip-Hop has name dropped&also is consumers of the beverage. I could care less about Cristal now. it just goes to show another form of racism that still exisits. without Hip-Hop mentioning the drink&also it being used more openly then if you take away that business then there is a big hole in it. so you gotta be careful at what you say to consumers. I think it's sad to hear somebody to come out&say something like this so openly,but at least the Powers that Be put there Racist vibe there directly so now Cristal will be avoided by some folks big time.nothing ever surprises me at all.I expect this.

Miami&Dallas in the NBA Finals

I'm Pulling for Miami to win it all. I respect Dallas.I like Dirk,Jason Terry,Josh Howard,Jerry Stackhouse. also respect there Coach Avery Johnson&the Owner Mark Cuban. but I want Miami to win it all.Shaq is my all time favorite Basketball player. i dig D'Wayne Wade,pulling Alonzo Morning because he has given himself so much&what he has overcome is a incredible to still be at this level. Gary Payton always down with the Glove.Pat Riley has come back&Shut up his critics big time. this should be a real interesting series. I got the Heat in 6 hopefully. stay tunned.

Racism at the World Cup

watching what is going on at the Soccor World Cup or Futbol depending on what you want to call it. but anyway watching the World Cup on tv over in Europe&hearing&seeing the Blatant Racial Signs&Words used make you feel at least that with Political Correctness in America that sporting events hear are somewhat respectful. now don't get me wrong Black Athletes in America ain't always gotta a fair shake or treatment. can't forget all the Hate that greeted Jackie Robinson upon entering Major League Baseball or other Black Athletes from Jack Johnson through Tiger Woods. don't think folks don't hurl out racial remarks to this day&Beyond. but Europe is a reminder of the Old USA. very sad to see what is going on over there.I expect more from the World than that.

666 day

i heard all kinds of things said about today,but I tell anybody who listens look i'm a Black Man&what would make this day any different? I mean alot of folks are walking around like Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" is needed today more than ever.I don't walk around worried about dates or this or that unless something truly goes down. back in the day when i went to Catholic school all you heard was the number 6, Damion&Ronald Reagan having 6 letters in his name,etc... so you always become aware of things like that depending of your enviroment when stuff like that happens.I don't worry about no dates like that.

June is Black Music Month

this month is known as Black Music Month. it's very important for people of all ages&Backgrounds to know that Black People created Jazz,Blues,Country,Rock&Roll, Gospel,Rhythm&Blues&Hip-Hop. also it's important to acknowledge Black Artists past,&Present. Black Artists in Classical&Other forms of music are out here doing there thing. from the Mothership in Africa with the Beat of the Drum to the Touchdown in America Black Music has touched lives all over the world&been very instrumental in bringing people together. alot of songs are sampled,Looped,etc... without some folks knowing where they came from or who the writers were. it's very important to educate people on knowing where alot of Great Music came from.

so it is June

June back in the day meant end of School&time for Summer. meant plans for the summer&what to do&where. it meant cookouts, it mean staying cool&enjoying the extra long hours in the day. it also meant NBA Finals. it meant somebody was gonna get married in June as well. funny how months can mean different things to different people,but that is the Symbolism of that particular month. June is different to me now in Adulthood than when i was a Child,but there are still things I remember about it&some things still let me know that it is June.
