the National Anthem should only be sung in English

if oyu can't sing it in English then leave it alone period. I can't stand George Bush,but on this topic I gotta agree with him 100%. learn the language if you live here&also sing the song in ENglish it ain't made to be turned into something it isn't period.I don't appreciate it done in any other language but English Period.

NFL Draft is next week,can't wait

the NFL draft is next week&the Big three of Matt Liner,Reggie Bush&Vince Young wondering where will they go is up for debate. Reggie Bush should easily be a Number 1 draft pick. Liner it's hard to say where he would fit in best. I hope Vince Young doesn't get shafted because he is a Black Quarterback&yes I put it out there like that. the guy destroyed USC for the title game when Texas won the National title in the Rose bowl in SC's own backyard,but the media&Others have truly tried to downplay this Man's gift. it's a real shame&I hope He gets picked real high because he is a very talented QB.NFL draft is the first real Reality TV show when you think about it. every Saturday in late April every team has a chance at winning. it's the Lottery of Football. somebody is wondering who is gonna get the Next Jerry Rice, the Next Tom Brady, the Next Terrell Davis, the Next Lawrence Taylor, the Next Dion Sanders,etc.... all Proven Winners,but alot of the time you might get all hype&Be stuck with a Ryan Leaf,etc... who just didn't pan out on NFL level. NFL Draft day is a Party,but then again so is football it's the Most important Sport in America&Draft day proves that where Hype alone sells more Wolf tickets&Sheeps are covered for a while longer.

NBA Post-Season do you care?

i mean first of all the post-season is way too long. 7 game series for the first round&second round?? that is way too long to me. next of all the Dallas Mavericks are getting hosed by having a great record they are forced because of the league rules to be a 4th seed?? that is awful. but the bigger picture

since pretty much week 2 it's been forcast that the Detriot Pistons&the World champion San Antonio Spurs will battle again for the title. that alone shows how predictable the league has become.

i want my Miami Heat to Win of course,but it's hard to bet against the Detriot Pistons because they are so stacked in the starting lineup. in truth the NBA needs a Big name&Some excitement to break up the Predictablity in the big show.no knock against the pistons&Spurs because they are both fundementally sound teams,but we need some change come money time.but it always comes down to the two best teams so we shall see.

that is a Interesting question&the argument can be made for a few players.

Chauncey Billups of the Detriot Pistons is one of the best Guards in the league&happens to play on the team with the league's best record.

Steve Nash who won it last year plays Guard for the Phoenix Suns&is playing with a whole cast of new teammates&is playing even better this year than last year.

Lebron James:only 21&has his Cleveland Cavliers in the Post-Season. He is a Forward&put up some big time numbers&He is the face of the NBA as we speak.

Dwyane Wade:Miami Heat Guard has had a Great year&is a proven leader. even with the Great Shaq on his team,D-Wade has that drive&has had a very productive season.

Dirk Nowitzki:Dallas Mavericks Forward leading his team all season&His Scoring&all around game went up as well.

ELton Brand of the LA Clippers:Power Forward has made the Clippers news again&it's been a long time. He is a force with his scoring&Rebounding. he is one of the Most Underrated players in the league along with Shawn Marrion of the Phoenix Suns. both should get MVp Consideration.

Last but certainly not least:Kobe Bryant, what a Career year for the LA Lakers Guard.81 point game. a 62 point 3 quarters of work game. making the lakers a playoff team again. no matter if you Love or Loath Kobe Bryant the person,you can't knock the Cat's game. He averaged 35 points this season which hadn't happen since the days of Michael Jordan. his numbers across the board were big time.

it will be interesting this year who gets the award.

Easter Sunday

now it's another year of Easter Sunday&How did you spend it? did it even hold the same importance as it once had? Easter should be seen as Important as Christmas,but the Commericialism of the Holiday has changed the manner of the Holiday&in the age of Political Correctness you have to be so careful with how you word or say certain things,so i'm told. I still like a easter basket for the big ole Chocolate Bunny,the jelly beans. but I don't like the generic watered down baskets that only have more decoration than actual treats. actually it sums up the lack of full respect for the Holiday. just like the great feeling that Palm Sunday use to give me as well.

Tax day

today is the day,but hopefully everybody got there taxes taken care of.funny how April 15nth just comes up on you out of the blue. interesting to here out of washington how much President George Bush paid in taxes&also interesting to hear that Vce-President Dick Cheaney is getting back over a million dollars in tax return money as if either one of those guys need any more write offs?? but tax time is always a fun time to either get caught up on bills,household needs,etc...and there is of course that fun element of collecting the money to spend on vacation time,new car,house,clothes,etc... yeah this is a day that is celebrating in many different ways&depending on who you talk to,it's met with various results.

congradualtions to the University of Florida Mens College

basketball team. I had a mini pool on the Men's tournement&if it was the final 62 then I would have Won because I had Florida&UCLA but problem for me is that i had Duke&U-Conn going to the show&U-Conn winning it all. so i just missed out. it was funny because I've pretty much mainly keep up with players in college more so than watch teams&games all the way through,in part because alot of kids go directly to the Nba&also because my Michigan Woolverines aren't where they were some years back,but we were a runner up in the NIT Tournement. but Florida played great basketball all the way through. they were a real team&did it up last monday night.

Katie Couric leaves NBC for CBS

this has been all the news today about Katie Couric leaving NBC Today show for the evening news of CBS.the money was right&She is a Young Woman at 49 to venture on into a different era of journalism.She will also be featured on 60 minutes.katie Couric is a Beautiful vibrant Lady.she has appeal on all age ranges&whatnot. She is one of the last remaining newspeople that still counts.that speaks volumes in this day&age when the news is treated like a Fastfood drive thru,here now&gone.but Katie Couric has that vibe that transcends.I wish Her the Best. RIP to Her Late Husband.

Cynthia Mckinney:Black CongressWoman roughed up

I heard this story the other day of how Congresswoman Cynthia Mckinney was roughed up by a Police Officer in Washington DC upon entering a building with Her ID tag&everything. the Media&general news want to make it out like Cynthia Mckinney should have just stood by&allow this Officer to do whatever,but throughout the whole nation Racial Profiling,harrassment&other forms of things that are suspect go down throughout the nation. so of course I knwo exactly where Cynthia Mckinney is coming from. how you gonna be in a Congress building&Being Black with just walking around? with all the security around there&whatnot of course this was self-explanatory.Cynthia Mckinney got roughed up&this was just wrong,but a friendly reminder how some folks abuse there power&authority. 2006 feels like 1906 at times in america when it comes to Race,period.

Duke University:what a Ugly mess

another classic case of Race&Class going down. the Lacrosse team is accused of rapping a Black Woman who is a Dancer. there are over 46 members of the lacrosse team,45 of them are white&the only ones being sampled for DNA. i'm not surprised at all.I have never cared for Duke University anyway. always thought they were Pompous&so full of it. what shall come of this? this feels like 1906&I wonder if this will be swept under the rug? hearing about racial issues at a Ivy league school ain't nothing new.probably goes on alot more than is ever reported,but again a school of Privlege&prestige is more often that not treated with kid gloves.as a Black Man in america who has seen some foul things when it comes to Race,would it surprise me if this was to be downplayed? no.i'll tell you one thing though,if this was a Black College with a football team or something&the alleged attackers were Black Men&the victim was a White Woman you can best believe that it would dealt with rather sooner than later. always a double racial standard&a School with a certain image has alot of ice on the cake,even when things aren't always so smoothly layered.also hearing that racial slurs greeted the young woman entertaining the players only adds fuel to a situation that if you have been on this planet for a minute&you are Black,you just assume is only a matter of minutes from happening.Duke truly has a Blue spot that rears a ugly head.

baseball is back

and I'm looking forward toward it. I hope Barry Bonds breaks all the records.I'm so tired of the witch-hunt that is out here going after that man. nothing has been proven. as for the rest of baseball I'm looking forward to the New York Yankees who i hope can win it all. the Chicago Whitesox's start the season as the World Champions&I look to see what they do this year as well as teams from both leagues. baseball is like a National Holiday in america.there is a certain scent in the air when that first pitch is served.it's very springy&it gives everybody hope again at going for the title.alot of interesting story-lines this year. will Atlanta continue to Dominate the National League East? will St.Louis ever get over the hump? will Boston re-group this year? will the Angels play up to there overall talent? will Oakland ever get beyond the first round? who will win the National league West? stay tunned.

daylight savings time is back

time to spring the clock up a hour&does it matter much nowadays if losing a hour of sleep or less? as time goes by it doesn't quite move me like it use to. funny thing is that i notice the time shift once spring has arrived even before day light savings time fully kicks in,but back in the day of going to school it really messed with me.i loved when summer came because that meant more time outside.but in the late fall&Winter i liked that extra hour especially when it's cold outside&i get that extra hour to sleep. it arrives again this weekend&i almost forgot about it.

April Fools day

like this is seen as a special day or something? but who out there has pulled there share of pranks? i mean we all have had somebody pull a line or story on us that had believing it,only to be told that it was a April fool's day joke. they can range from something serious to something that is a one note or a off hand comment. so what was the last joke you heard? oh the wonders of April Fool's day&the Jokes that spring forth.
