RIP to Paul Dana on the Race Track

that was a scary sight to see on tv this past sunday. a practice around the race track at 200 MPH&this Man was only 30 years old&killed on the practice drive. Nascar is a dangerous sport&the risk of death is always there, but even though you know it can happen, you just still get surprised upon seeing this happen.the race still went on,which i felt should have came down to a vote between the other racers.i felt the race should have been postpone until everybody is calmed. RIP this was truly sad.prayers to his family&Friends.

Mike Wallace retiring from 60 minutes

hard to beleive that Mike Wallace is leaving 60 minutes.the man has been one of the voices of not only 60 minutes, but also Network tv.He has left a lasting impression&mark. He is 87,but seems like he is only in his 40's with his overall presentation&the way he presents the news or topic. that is a trademark when a Jorunalist truly was about there craft,as to trying to make every story into a Tabloid vibe. Mike Wallace got direct&did what he was suppose to do.he is truly one of a kind.

Bill Lester Black Nascar Driver

even though Bill Lester came in 35th place today in his race,it was still ground-breaking to see a African-American Man Competiting on the circuit.there is still a gap on the Race car circuit.Racially&Socially.now don't get me wrong NasCar&auto Racing ain't the way it once was with only appeal to Rednecks&down South.today Nascar is as Important as any other sport that ain't the NFL.Auto Racing is big business.this is a Historic moment&Hopefully Bill Lester will follow in the same Footsteps as Windell Scott the Most successful Black Race Car driver.Richard Pryor made the Movie "Greased Lightening".

Candice Parker with two dunks

it was something awesome to see Tennessee Vols college Player Candice Parker slam the ball twice in the Lady's Basketball Tournament. it's still a fresh concept in the Women's play on all levels.over time I truly believe there will be more ladies taken it to the house.Lisa Leslie did this in a WNBA game a few years back&it was headline news for a minute.Candice Parker overcame Knee Surgery back when she was in high school. this speaks volumes about Her Athleticism&also Her will at going to the Hole. this was a great moment.

Spring is coming on strong now

the sky is looking nice&sunny where I live&the breeze is smooth.I've been waiting for a long time.I'm one of those people that do a spring count down when Winter is around. I can't wait for the start of baseball, ice cream trucks getting there stuff in motion&just chilling outside. when Spring comes on that means the electric bill gets lower.no more heat bills&more outdoor activity. so next week it is finally here. YES LAWD!!!

35 years to the time of Muhammad Ali&Joe Frazier

fighting in New York's Madison Square Garden. the first fight between these two Giants in the Heavyweight division was a must see event. a whose who was ring side that night 35 years ago.Frazier won&Ali was rusty in part of his 3 years off from his sentence because he refused to fight in the Vietnam War. there was rel tension because Ali was loud&Foul to Frazier.I'm a huge Muhammad Ali fan,but He went too far at times with calling Joe Frazier out of hisname&there was real Hate in that ring. nowadays sports is so ran by Corperate logos it's hard to tell if people really have a beef with anyone, but back then it was on.these two Greats had 3 classic fights, but that first one was timeless.

Buck O'Neil&Allen Iverson snubbed for different reasons

Baseball Hall of Fame recently selected quite a few Negro League Players, but ignored Buck O'Neil who is 94 years old&Is a Pioneer in Negro League history. He was the first Black Scout on a Major league roster. He should have gotten His due. I feel that all Pioneers who have paved the way should always be acknowledged&Buck O'Neil is a Incredible Man.

Allen Iverson: got snubbed by the recent NBA Olympic dream team set to play in a couple of years.how does Allen Iverson the 2nd leading scorer in Basketball today get ignored?? there are snubs that make no sense at all. both of these situations are vastly different, but yet symbolic of how two very important Human Beings are being snubbed in different forms&that is just wrong to me.

The Sopranos:the return

hard to beleive it's been almost two years since the Sopranos was on HBO. now don't get me wrong in my personal Opinion the show has fallen off since 2003.the show's hey day&Peak was from 99-02,but there is a sense with this being the final Season&a Bonus 8 episodes coming next January that a spark has returned. what will Tony(James Gandolfini) do this season&What will be the implications?? this show is the brainchild of David Chase. alot of twists&turns. maybe near two years off will add some life into the overall show&Content. we shall see tonight which i expect will have a huge viewership.

New Orleans had a Game tonight at home

even though the New Orleans Hornets lost to the Los Angeless Lakers tonight, this was a good victory for the city of New Orleans since Hurricane katrina.the game was a sell out. it was great to see the fans&People of New Orleans rooting on there home team again. sports can be a great escape from alot of real situations that leave a trail.it's gonna be quite a bit of time before the city of New Orleans recovers fully.but a game like tonight is a welcome site&very much needed.

RIP Gordon Parks

what a Incredible Journey this man had?? started out as a Poto Journalist for Life magazne&His photos are some of the Greatest visual reminders of life in the United states ever. but when you truly think of his name the film "Shaft" rings loud&Clear. He was a Pioneer in Hollywood by Being one of the first few African-American Men to direct a film."Shaft" became a Inconic Film&to this day is a household name world-wide. this man also was a Poet,&wrote Music. He was a versatile&well rounded creative force who shared his gift with the world&touched so many lives. He was 93,but with all the gifts he had he seemed even more wise beyond his years.

Kirby Puckett died today RIP

Kirby Puckett was One of the Greatest Baseball Players that I have ever seen period. He wasn't the tallest man&certainly not a cat that would be called in shape, but He was a Man who had as much Heart as anyone who has ever played the game at the highest level.Glucoma slowed him down&Forced Him to retire way too soon.He is a Hall of Famer&two Time World Series Winner.6 time golden glove. he was a Player's player. I still remember the world series back in 1991 when Kirby played with the Only team he ever played with the Minnisota twins&they beat the Atlanta braves. what made it o great was Kirby's catch to save a Home run&then he turned around&Hit the game winning Home Run. He was a Great Player.RIP to a Giant of a Talent.

Three Six Mafia Won the Oscar for best song

"It's hard out here for a Pimp" was the Oscar winner for best original song.I thought that was the best moment of the Oscars to me.the Brothers worked hard&came back.this song was used in the film Hustle&flow that started Oscar Nominated Actor Terrence Howard. the Oscar performance fit in with the usual Hollywood show performances of the past. I think the song was on point&worked well in the film.now even though Eminem won a Oscar for his song "lose it" he never came on the show to perform or anything. but Three Six Mafia did there song won there trophy&were happy.I enjoyed that. it was a Great day for Hip-Hop.the song speaks volumes as welll about Hollywood as well because they Pimp Older Actors&actress to look a certain way. then they control the Image, size&presentation of people on tv. they pick who they usually want to Win. the Oscars is a Pimping Industry period. but three Six Mafia weren't jaded like alot of folks are.they truly were excited about winning.it felt good.

Autistic Kid is a Big time Hoops baller

it's been all over the news about Jason Mcelwain of Rochestor New york who got a chance to play recently in his school's basketball game.at first he wasn't hitting any shots&then it's like He morphed into Kobe Bryant&scored 20 points in a four minute spurt.that was a Incredible performance&shows that if given a chance to play anything is possible. it speaks to wanting it&Proven that you truly belong. His story is gonna be to this generation what Rudy was to pass generations.courage under obstacles, but nothing is ever out of reach if you have a vision&Drive.

BasketBall Player gets one yearly pass from wife

yesterday one of the biggest stories in the world of sports centered around Utah Jazz Player Andrei Kirilenko. it was reported&stated that His Russian Wife who also is a singer allows Kirilenko one night with a year with another Woman of His choice. that Lady is Ground breaking&on the real. let's be real for a second:Most Men need that yearly pass. His wife is smart enough to know that there are other Women checking him out&it goes on in society at large as well. it ain't no puzzle she goes to the games&sees the reactions&things.I find Her to be on the ball&more hip to the way of the world. She is One of the coolest Women on the Planet period to me.now Kirilenko says so far He wouldn't take her up on the offer, but at least she is being upfront about it&acknowledging what goes down.gotta have understanding to the realitys of things.

Ms.Smith goes to Washington

Annie Nicole Smith is in Washington at the highest Courts to Collect on the Will that her Late Husband had left her.She is battling against his son fo rMoney She was awarded, but then got denied.I've always enjoyed watching me some Annie Nicole Smith in all shapes&Sizes. she is a trip, but always keeps you wondering what will happen next in her life. she has come a long way since Her possing for "Playboy" days.but she still commands the media attention no matter what she is involved in. this case&how it all plays out shall be interesting, but one thing is for sure, wherever Annie Nicole Smth goes or is doing there is bound to be many camera's around. She has that vibe about Her still.

Donald Trump thinking about running for president

Donald Trump has entered talk about Running for President. didn't he see what happen to Malcolm Forbes Son when he made that move? no matter how rich you are&how much power you command that doesn't equal a Successful run for President let alone appealing to a wide range of people to vote for you.Donald Trump is a Shrewed BusinessMan&has been very successful, but does he have the kind of drawing impact to gather much hype in a attempt toward the white House?? this could be alot of talk, but knowing Trump anything is Possible no matter where you stand with me.
