NFL Combine:what does it Prove?

Vince Young who Dominated USC in the Rose Bowl&Helped lead the way for His Texas Longhorns for the National Title,over the weekend had to participate in a NFl Mental test of some sorts.common sense what he accomplished on the field should speak for itself. alot of QB"s have mental skills but end up holding a clip boards upon playing in the NFL. I wondr why this is a story at all? guys can score high scores in various routnes&things,but unless you are on the field&doing something nobody is gonna truly know what anyone has as far as playing at the Highest level Possible.i think the NFL while the best sport going,doesn't always mean you have to Prove anything in a combine.I mean there have been players over the years who came in off the street&Proved they Belong.i've never felt that skills tests in any Profession or job proved anything.

talk about a Addictive gadget?? I watched the grammys recently&mariah carey was reading off her blackberry. it's one of the "IN" things to have. I ain't interested in it though because I like to sit down when i type or read information. also i don't wanna be typing everywhere i go.but it's a cool compact gadget that has everything you need to communicate. technilogy is becoming smaller&smaller but with more overall results. you can have your e-mail on there along with checking out various other things.the street name for the Blackberry is the "Crackberry". it's another toy that takes over for alot of people.

the joy of Half off Thrift store day

ever been excited when you found out your local thrift store was having a half off day? it happen in my city recently.I needed some winter type of jackets with hoods because the early rain was tap dancing all on my dome&I didn't want it messing my hair up.i was hyped because I didn't have to pay the regular price.you always come across some cool folks in there&also folks that are looking for rare items or deals. Holloween is Probably the best time to go thrift store shopping. make my bags real full.I found a 35 cent Frissbee&went to go play a few years back.I was so happy.it's little things like that which is so cool along with getting everything else i needed to get.

what do you do with winning 365 Million Dollars? some days having a extra 365 dollars is a great feeling,but having 365 Million Dollars just waiting for you would change things around you&fast. would you still work if you won that kind of Cheese? would you worry about Bills&things again? would you buy everything you always wanted? Curt Gowdy Rest in Peace

Curt Gowdy was one of the greatest sports Broadcastors in the history of sports.He covered all sports.He started out broadcasting Boston Red Sox Games&Even called Ted Williams Final At bat where he hit a Home run.Curt Gowdy covered games for NBC&also got to work at ABC.that was rare then as would be now. His voice was a timeless Instrument that spoke to a whole generation of sports Lovers. He was 86 years old. I was a youngster when i first heard his voice covering a game&It was a voice you would never forget. He was a true Pioneer.RIP

Shani Davis was saying all the Hate Mail he got about him being a Black Winter Olympian,but He shut up His critics yesterday by Becoming the first African-American Winner Solo in the Winter games. He was saying that he is from the south side of Chicago&that Some Black Folks were cracking on him for participating in a Sport that is largely White dominated. I was shocked in a good way hearing that He won.as a Black Man I can't wait until Winter is over.I don't like the cold.I got a saying if it's under 50 degrees you gotta come find me in my heated Crib,because unless it's something important I ain't taken my Behind into the Cold.Shani Davis is just 23&Has already made history.He was called Selfish&Other terms that pretty much say what is a Brother doing here?but He shut down his critics&I'm proud of the Brother. do your thing.

still trying to figure out what the big deal about a Gay themed Movie in Hollywood?? like most films,tv shows&Theater over the years doesn't have Gay themes in them.quite a few industry People are Gay&if People can't accept folks then something is wrong with them.cracks me up that Broke back Moutain is big over the past year.Tv,Film has always had themes in them.now Willie Nelson's gay theme song is getting a big buzz&that wil spark controversy because in country Music there is a largely Anti Gay theme just as you would find in Hip-Hop.it's interesting at all the discussions that have been made about this film. what does it say about a Society at large? but then again everybody knows there are people who never come to accept any kind of change.

He was a 100% correct about the Winter Olympics. there ain't enough Black folks out there participating.but the People I know ain't messing with no Ice.Bryant Gumbel spoke out on what alot of folks want to say,but can't.I applaud him for telling it like it is.I see no Equality in a very tired olympics. this is a bad showing&there should be more Black folks showcased as well.Bryant Gumbel said how He felt on a recent HBO "Real Sports" show&I give him much dap for that.if Bode Miller is the best that goes for sking well then the Olympics is over before it started,but then again it is.

Grammy award thoughts

glad to see the Sly Stone. he single handlt stole the show for my money's worth. the tribute to him overall was Boring&Flat. tired of U2. they can't sing&play the same song year in&year out. tired of Kayne West as well.Paul Mccartney sounded real tired as did Jay z&Linkin Park. John Legend bored me as well as does Gweyn stefani,Coldplay. Kelly Clarkson did a decent job as did Christina Agullaria with Herbie Hancock. anyway American Idol smashed the grammys in overnight ratings,no real shocker there because the grammys is too boring for it's own good on a whole. but it was cool seeing Sly Stone re-emerging long overdue.i can't stand seeing the Grammy president speak that is usually boring&drawn out.

I ain't even gotta name any names because this latest Hockey mess is a trip.now mind you after this past super bowl with some of the most suspect ref's in Pro sports that still have Football fans angry beyond belief,you now have this situation with Hockey that has Mob ties&ilegal gambling going down. say it ain't so? yeah right who ain't seen some funny business not going down within the Pro sports context? Hockey didn't need this after a year of a strike.I don't know what to say because alot of things shall unfold over time,but right now this whole situation puts Hockey under a light they didn't need to be put in.stay tunned.the ice ring just got a bit more slick&somebody is about to take huge a fall.

I watched the Footage on C-Span today it was 6 hours with over 10,000 people paying there final respects. Former President Bill clinton&His Wife Hilary gave remarks as did current President George Bush&His Father.but The Reverend Joesph Lowery stole the show as he pointed out that there were no Weapons of Mass destruction.Coretta Scott King wasn't for no War.she was about showing the Love&making changes. this was the Ultimate tribute to a Beautiful Lady who changed so many lives.

SuperBowl the results&Refs??

while I say congradulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers&they were the Right Team to win,Seattle was the Better team. the Ref's had a hand in this game.depending on your age the Steelers for all there greatness&5 Super Bowl Victorys have always had some stripe Love over the years from the Ref's. they gotta be the reason for instant replay now. yesterday was some bad calls period.but Seattle still missed two field goals,still mad Poor clock management,dropped balls&never seemed able to finish off like what they started. they glided up&down the field with ease,but never could get there Groove. this super bowl was lack-luster to me with two parity driven teams at best.the commericals were pretty corny as well. not alot to remember.but congradulations to both teams,still alot of that game seemed out of the Twilight Zone.

Congradulations to Warren Moon making the hall of fame

Warren Moon Broke down another wall yesterday. it wasn't that long ago when Moon couldn't even get a job in the NFL as a Starting Quarterback Because He was Black.in fact Moon didn't even get into the NFL until 1984. He spent a good 5 years plus Dominating the Canadian Football League before the Houston Oilers gave him a chance. Yesterday was very significant because it was needed.even though we are in the 21rst century Racisim,Lack of Chances still impact our society.Warren Moon was long overdue at being given credit as One of the Greatest QuarterBacks who has ever played.Congradulations to a Brother who truly Broke down Walls for so many.let us Never Forget.

Detriot:the city gets a Unfair rap.I think&feel alot of it is Racist personally. everybody likes to Point out about the Living Conditions about the city,but never point out about the changes going on there as well.I say Congradulations to the City&also that it's been a great Hosting city for the super bowl this year.

every Febuary I get excited upon celebrating Black History Month. every month should be Black History Month as far as I'm concearned because there is so much History&Information on so many topics&subjects that aren't still being taught in schools across the land.Tv Land is having a Open Forum Discussion on Black contributions through Entertainment,Politics,impact on so many topics.Generational gaps&the way certain terms are used. I've always enjoyed this time of the year.
