Jesse Owens is truly One of the Greatest Athletes Ever. a Multi Gold Winner back in 1936 in the face of Hate with Adolf Hitler watching His Dominance.Jesse Owens has never gotten His full due as One of the greatest athletes ever. it's hard to believe it's been 25 years since His passing. He truly left a mark on the Olympics but more importantly He truly made a World Statement with just letting His God Given Talent speak volumes.RIP to a Very Important Man.

Rapping for the Big Mac??

Mcdonalds is hoping to cash in with a Rapper saying the phrase Big Mac in the song&they have to approve it. now most Rap Songs today are about a Higher lifestyle&unlike say 20 years back the thought of hearing a Rapper mentioning a Big Mac today is like seeing Bill O'Reily Bopping His head at a Ludacris Video it ain't gonna happen likely. the economics of the Rap Game now has long ago surpassed Mcdonalds.for all the product placement that goes on within Hip-Hop I'm not seeing Big Mac's being pushed to the forefront. in a different era this would have been cool.thinking of all the Artists,lingo,images,etc... that have passed since Rap Music became the Cornerstone of Modern Pop Music&seeing a Icon as big as Mcdonalds just now getting Hip to wanting a Rapper or Rappers name drop a Big Mac seems so odd&Out of place.

Easter use to be a time that didn't feel as Commerical as it has over the years. I can recall a time when people truly reflected on it's meaning. I often wonder about Easter&christmas&the dates×. Easter has become another day to go shop as to being thankful for the gift of Life&the many joys&freedoms we have. so i often wonder if the meaning of the Holiday has been lost through the Coomericialism? also this particular Weekend Holiday falls in March which pretty much caught me off guard. so use to it being in April.

by now everybody&there granny has a take on the Schiavo case in FLorida should she Live or Die? everybody has ignored Her own Wishes. you have her Parents&Husband.you have the President&Governor of FLorida trying to way in as is Congress&other partys. now every day across the Country there are babys to Older People who are battling for there lives¬ half the attention is given. as a matter of fact when president Bush was Governor of Texas He signed into law to taking certain cases of People off the support. now this Woman is still alive,but it all comes down to what She feels is best.who else can say what another person should&Shouldn't do under the circumstances? people are given there take,but this is a Life or Death matter that should be left up to One Person&One Person only.

the lady Vols of Tennessee won last night&Helped Coach Pat Summitt set the All time winning record for Coaches in either Women's or Men's College Basketball. Pat Summit now has 880 Wins.She has been at Tennessee for 31 years&Has done a Incredible Job there.She has won 6 titles as the Coach there. when you know your stuff you can Coach period.the Lady Vols are in the Sweet 16 again. Pat Summitt is Truly One of the Greatest Coaches ever in any Profession. She is very detailed&Gets the best out of Her Players on the Court. also to Her Credit her Players also Graduate from college at a High rate as well.

Named Clothing stores versus Used stores

funny how you can go into a used clothing place&Buy clothes far cheaper&some folks will act funny about it,but somehow it's better to go to a big named store&spend more money on the same item? i don't get that logic fully. if you want a certain pair of pants or shirt then what is wrong with going to a thrift store&saving loot as to going to a mall&paying twice as much?i've bought Coats&things from thrift stores that are name brand&saved a ton of cash. some folks actually frown upon folks who go to the thrift stores.i could care less i always dig going shopping on holiday tag days.you find all kinds of good things.

first day of spring

funny how the first day of spring feels. times in the past where it could mean a rainy day or still shades of winter laying in the cut. but it's hear&that means a glow in the flowers&a spring in steps. the Weather will start to reflect the changing of the seasons. the Night time starts to expand a bit&that is good for the night life&doing things in the outside.it also marks a return to possible cookouts&Picnics. nothing like the smell&feel of spring.

Robert Blake Walked through the Main door&Scott Petterson hit the side doors to prepare for life on Death Row. two cases that seemed similar ended so differently. Robert Blake's case had alot of reasonable Doubt while Scott Petterson with His contradictions&whatnot hurt his own cause. quiet as it's kept had Petterson kept things on the straight&narrow he might have gotten a Mis-trial&maybe a Hung jury. Robert Blake meanwhile is a sure bet for a reality Tv show.sounds crazy huh? but the writing is on the wall.matter of fact we ain't heard the last of either case or Person.stay tunned.

Shaq&Kobe Part 2:One Sided again

of course I was happy that the miami Heat smashed the lakers. Dwyane Wade with that crushing Block Shot on Kobe Bryant in the 3rd quarter spoke volumes. it's a shame that Shaq&Kobe couldn't work together to further there legacy but things happen. now Shaq is showing himself as the Ultimate Team Guy&Leader. Kobe Bryant while a Great Player seems lost&By Himself. can't trust His teammates&also can't seem to find any energy when he needs it in the end.Shaq is the Best Player in the game period. nobody can stop Him. now He has the Best Teammate he has ever had in Dwyane Wade. Shaq&Kobe looked at each other&didn't bump hands but glared at one another briefly. I don't blame Shaq at all.the Mighty Lakers are just another team in the League.Shaq is living great&the Miami Heat are on the way up while the Lakers are Sympathy case.

Atlanta:another drama

this past weekend in atlanta with the Shootings was truly sad on so many levels. victims in the courtroom&the Woman who the Man ran into's house&Held Hostage for 7 hours. this takes me back to another tragedy in that City:the Atlanta child Murders. Atlanta is a beautiful City&a very happening place,but these two chapters in it's city's history leave more Questions than Answers. this past weekend was scary&nobody knew what was gonna go down next. the tragedys are vastly differently,but similar in that it made a whole city kept on the edge¬hing added up with Why these things happen??

March Maddness

it's that time of the year in College Basketball where the final 64 go for the trophy. now College Basketball isn't what it use to be&you can say that about alot of other things,but especially with College basketball with Kevin Garnett-Lebron James with Kobe Bryant,Tracy Mcgrady&others in between skipping going to College&jumping straight into the NBA. but nowadays more than ever all College teams have a better shot at winning the National Title. the Era of Parity gives everybody hope. I remember back in the day filling out my brackets&always rooting for my favorite College Team Michigan Wolverines. I still root for Michigan but it's a whole different situation these days.i still remember Chirs Webber calling a timeout when Michigan didn't have one to use. it wasn't that long ago when College Basketball was lively.but every now&then there is something that you will remember about this time of the year in College Basketball. the Women's Tournument is always Interesting. there are still teams Dominating.

it's been 8 years since Biggie's death&this week the FBI said they are through with trying to solve the case which truly sadden me&made me wonder outloud if this was 2005 or 1905?? a Black Male is gunned down&nobody knows nothing while hsi record Company continues to profit,CD's are sold,DVDs are sold as are T-Shirts&Other merchendise but nobody knows nothing or won't speak?? then you factor in that He talked about Hustling&doing his thing on the street before he blew up&how that might be held against Him as a Person. Yeah it's a truly sad how this Man's Life was taken so soon&He was just a kid at only 24&Half. He was One of the greatest Rappers Ever. I enjoyed His story telling more than anything else.He also worked well with other artists no matter what there style. he could flow with the best of them. the cat was funny, but kept things very real. I feel for His Mother&His Kids because from what I heard this week His Death doesn't seem to matter. that truly saddens me. it's business as usual for His catelog&Merchendise but nobody wants to solve this case.to quote a Biggie Song it's truly "UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

Dan Rather has had a remarkable Career&Run as one of the most known Journalist&Faces on Tv. now some of His Reporting has made some folks uneasy& there will be some people who feel He Should have called it a day some time ago. but does making mistakes take away from Him Being One of the Nation's Most Credible Journalists Ever? I mean He is a News/Media Icon so how will the ball land on the Dan Rather court in the Future? we will stay tunned.

NBA Year Take thus far

well I still predict the Miami Heat&the San Antonio Spurs to Battle for the Ring in June. the lakers are a Lucky Average team&that is Being Kind. Kobe Bryant,Owner Jerry Buss&Gm Mitch Kupcheck really flipped by allowing Shaq to be let go like that. Chris"Cry me a River" Webber is sturggling with the Sixers in Phily. after being the Man in Sacremento&Not Being able to get the Job Done,Webber got tradded to the Sixers. now let me say that Iverson is a Great Player,but not somebody you want as a teammate. He still doesn't pass the Rock&still takes too man shots&has never made another teammate better. C-Webb is also about 2-3 years passed His Prime. though C-Webb is Only 32 he moves like He is closer to 64 at this stage. the World Champion Pistons are playing good,but don't look like the team that Won it all last year. still they will have there say come post season time. out West:The Spurs are the best. but right behind them are a long clone of teams who all play alot alike in the Suns,Supersonics,Mavericks&Kings. watch out for the Nuggets.if the Rockets ever get it together then watch out. the Timberwolves are the big let down this year. Kevin Garnett can't inspire that team at all. great to see Grant Hill back with the Orlando Magic. just as it's good to see Antonie walker back with Paul Pierce in Boston. Lebron James needs some more Help in Clevland&then the Hype will truly kick into Higher gear.Props to Steve nash&what he has done with the Suns.but at the end of the day there are only 3 legit teams for the title as I see it now:The Miami Heat,The Detroit Pistons&the San Antonio Spurs. stay tunned.

40th year of the Selma march on the Bridge

it's only been 40 years since the March in Selma Alabama which Provided Voting Rights for Black Folks Down South. then President Lynden B.Johnson Signed into the right to vote. scary thing is that a renewal is due within the next two years.scary times for Sure. but the Historic March which was only 40 years ago had People such as Harry Belefonte taking part. another walk was done two weeks later with Dr.Martin Luther King Jr&also the Rev,Jesse Jackson&Many Other notable Civil Rights Leaders that made a better day for myself&Other Black Folks throughout the Country.we've come a long way&still have alot further to go.always important to remember the Ground work&Foundation laid down by people who sacrificed Blood,sweat&tears for a better Tommorow&a chance at a level playing field.

these little nasty Winter colds&the types of being Sick

oh they never ever seem to go away. seems to go on for days at times&just floats around. there are different types of being Sick: sick where you can't move, sick where you can't eat regular food&hold it down, Sick where you can't really do anything&then there is Felxible Sick: that means you are sick but you do pretty much everything else such as eating regular food,drinking&moving about. but having colds in the Winter is truly a tricky thing. you can get too warm even in the Winter&have to cool off. things just go in circles but eventually it goes away,but it takes time.

this got my attention,not because of the President doing this because everytime a team wins a title it's common practice for the team to go to the White House. but the Boston Red sox's broke a 86 year Old Chain&Finally Won again. but I also know that there Main Starting Pitcher Curt Schilling is also a Strong supporter of George Bush's Politics&whatnot. I was daydreamning&thinking if the Indiana Pacers Won the Title this year would Ron Artest be so welcomed so soon after everything that has gone down? you gotta wonder if the Image of a Player would be so welcomed? Politics does play a role in everything that goes down no matter what anyone may dare tell you.

never mind the Battles of the 60's the High flying Lakers with Showtime versus those Tough as Nails Celtics of the 80's always was must see TV before it had a name. the days of Magic,Kareem versus Bird,Parrish&Mchale. now that Kobe ran Shaq&Phil Jackson away the lakers are just another average team.the Celtics have had a few runs since there last title in 1986 but those glory days are along time ago.the Celtics Won tonight in a real close Battle.back in the day this was a must see viewing even in the regluar season.tonight watching NBA Nation on ESPN with Magic Johnson,Kareem Abdul Jabbar&Robert Parrish are talking about those great moments made me long for that kind of Battle,but these days we ain't even coming close.at least we still can go back down memory lane every now&then&Reflect on yesteryear.actually all partys are dealing with Parity&Being Average.the Celtics are two Games over 500. the Lakers are right at 500. back in the day we didn't see this coming,but then again we never saw a Superstar in the Prime of His CareerHeaded toward retiring with the lakers being dealt for 3 decent players but nothing of the order of SHAQ!
