though Granny passed years ago the spirit&uplift still flows through my blood though I have my good&bad days I can hear words of wisdom as my guiding light some folks say people leave this life but I always say the flesh goes, but the spirit&It's force stay with you forever there is a being that channels you from the cold, protects you from the heat, shields you from the tears that pour over head from the sky&never allow thunder&Lightening from taking you away that is the power of a strong Lady that set a foundation on a young soul&steered direction, purpose&a reason so a future would be brighter despite all obsticles that often pop up,there is no hurdle that can't be jumped&Leaped once Granny has your back, I never failed

all Human Beings Have Greatness in them

many people are told they have to be or think like this person or that person but as you find in this journey of life that all Human Beings have Greatness about them. now some are more gifted in the Arts or have a personality that attracts, but you have other people that do other things Great in there own Unique way&must be given there due for there Great Purpose.all People that touch upon this Earth are given a Gift of Greatness. it's up to the Person to find what there calling on Earth is&to share that Gift. it's a incredible when you allow your mind to appreciate everyone's gift&Greatness. it opens your mind&expands the way you see&hear the World around you.

Jose Canseco:Hit&Miss

the Miss Part on Jose Canseco is the Snitching part. which is never cool. the Hit part is that Baseball knew what was going down. Baseball was thinking a short term relief for a long term solution. the Long Ball Brought People Back.Summer of 98 with Mcgwire&Sosa was huge for Baseball. if it wasn't for the Long ball after the strike year of 1994 then baseball might really be behind the 8 ball. Issues have always dogged baseball, from it's racist past until Jackie Robinson came into the game in 1947, Gambling,&Other things that have hurt the game. but Steriods has been going on for a long time.I don't want to hear about any Asterisks being placed.nobody can say for sure what was what&whatnot. alot of time has passed&It's time to move on.Jose Canseco was a Really Good Player&had he been determined he could have retired a Great Player.I believe what he has said, but I don't agree with the Snitching out part he has done.Baseball knew what was happening. they Manipulated alot of things by having alot of Double AA type Pitchers who had no business Pitching along with bringing in the Fences,Pitching Mounds Lowered, suspect Strike Zones, suspect Baseballs&a Watered down game.I bet Cash Money that if Canseco Hit His 500nth Home Run&Got into the Hall of Fame We might not be hearing about this.but nevertheless we have to deal with the realitys that have gone down.I think things will cool down over time&it will be business as usual, but I hope for Baseball's sake there is never another strike because they will need more than a Needle to Inject Life back into a Sport that while is still Popular doesn't quite mean what it once did.

Cell Phones:the See Me&Hear me Phone

Cell Phones are important, but also a Vanity Plate for alot of people as well. alot of folks be fronting with them. I can't stand going to a Ball Game or watching a Ball Game&the Cell Phone buzzing off&that person talking all loud&then they be looking at you all crazy when you hear there conversation&your mouth drops from what you might be hearing. talk about Double Standards? now you have the Picture disc to go along with them now so folks can snap a Photo on the spot. so I wonder what is the purpose of having privacy with them when the whole world knows your business? again what is the Purpose of it again?still there are more Phones being sold&more pictures to be took&ring tones to be heard.

A Dancer's Feet

with the Rhythm of the Groove coming through the speakers the reaction to the Movements&Glide will create a reaction one way or the other will the music center upon the feet or the hands in tempo? going to a club you want to feel the beat&catch the turn of the record how will bridge effect your routine as you stop&turn? as the lights change with the beats how are your feet tapping to this vibe? you can never dance the same way twice&you can manipulate that pattern with a stride or bop of the Head as your hands take the beat&re-create that is the Rhythm that dictates it all

No late Movie Fees no more where was this when??

like many folks out there I was like cool that BlockBuster had changed there policys about Late fees.but I also jumped on the Netflicks bandwagon because I was tired of BlockBusters late fees&film Politics. gotta get the best offer. I remember back in the late 80's early 90's as a Kid hauling down to the video store to get the videos back on time. it was like a stop watch there waiting on you at the split second. always telling you that would owe or have bad credit if you were late. oh those days were a trip. always having to rent about 15 movies just to get a free rental for the weekend. oh the way those video stores truly got over back in the day. or the classic one with Older films still going at almost 2 dollars per viewing.prices might not ever drop on older films. new rentals being 3 dollars&Change. Net flicks gave a you as much as you want for 20 bucks. so now BlockBuster is jumping on the wagon but those days in the past I won't ever forget.I might still go to a local video store, but I ain't never gonna be sweating any more late fees.

The Grammys or Grannys

I use to dig this Award show way back in the day,but over time things got to be so predictable. when Stevie Wonder won Album of the year back in the day all the time or Michael Jackson Domonating or Quincy Jones carrying two arms full of Awards it was like WOW! but the grammys hit a Soar note with me with how they did Rap Music back in 1988/1989 by only given the tape delay broadcast of the Winners. then of course the whole Millil Vanneli Scandal of them Winning for Best new Artist when in fact they never sang a Note on there Album. so I came into understanding there own Politics. there are so many categorys&Different styles of Music throughout the whole wide world, but the Grammys/Grannys put me to sleep with there Predictable ways.I'm sure tonight may have a surprise or two,but for the most part it will be business as usual.i still remember Little Richard getting on the stage telling the Audience that he never Won anything&folks were laughing but they didn't hear what he meant.I understood then as I certainly do now.still remembering the Show Cutting short Frank Sinatra's Performance back in 1993.or the former President of the Grammys Michael Greene trying to embarass some Kids who were downloading music&taking time out of the show to harp on technilogy that has forever changed the game of the industry.there have been Great performances over the years&Speeches, but at the end of the day do you even care to reflect on what once seemed like a truly special event?

The Royal Wedding

well I hear Prince Charles is Marrying his Long term Girlfriend&I think to myself what is the big deal? pardon me for being a American Citzen that just doesn't get into the Royality Mentality&all the things that happen there. I mean back in 1980 when Prince Charles married Lady Diana it was a huge Media Event&Broadcast everywhere, but again I ask what is the Big deal? people get married&Divorced all the time&it doesn't carry the same amount of wait as it once seemed to appear. so I gotta wonder who is gonna watch this wedding&will it have the same buzz that it once did? one thing is for sure we are gonna hear about it. now ask yourself don't you wish you were considered Royality&had the whole World knowing about your Wedding??

Valentines Day

it has come again upon us&the usual Suspect gifts Candy,Music,Flowers,etc... are awaiting to be picked Up&given out. but I always say why don't you just acknowledge that Special Lady Any day of the week or Year? I feel for the Cat that forgets the 14th&think it was a Holiday but can't remember which one? of course I have my usual Music I like to Play.you have Artists that hit the spot for a Night out on the town for romance&Slow Dancing. in between a Good Meal&Dessert to reflect the evening is really cool. so I wonder what Febuary 15th will be like?

Movie Formula

how many times do you watch a movie&say outloud didn't I just see this already? so many times a Common theme is used for various purposes&if it works as they saying goes if it ain't broke don't try to fix it sentiment kicks in. you expect with the Technilogy&the way a Director can go so many places these days to explore uncharted territory you would think right? wrong! more often than not you get run of the Mill Writing&a Clone of a Bigger Tier Actor or Actress&you get a re-packged version of the same film over&over again. I love Me some Movies&I have bought quite a bit,but at the same time I've often wondered why it seems people tend to forget who wins these Awards for Best film&whatnot? what you come to find is that there are only so many Original Works&that you either feel the Performance given or you don't, but don't go expecting alot of Originality.

Lack of Buzz from the Super Bowl Commericals

as Big as the Super Bowl is the Commericals are Arguably as Big or almost as Important as the game itself. every since the whole Halftime Routine with Janet Jackson&Justin Timberlake went down last year the Major networks have toned down the commericals quite a bit aside from godaddy.com which was nice Commerical&also quite funny. but anyway like the game itself the Commericals never had much spark. you watched&Waited but nothing really stood out. Advertisement Money is highly spent on Ads on Super Bowl Sunday but this year it seemed to be mainly a run of Commercials that came&went without much fanfare.

The Sound Of Water

the way it dances in a glass the way it rolls so smoothly into a Pitcher it's a form of Purity so I look outside the Window&see drops tapping against the side of the Crib&I use to count them notice how they circled&left large tears as a form of a Shadow as you appear closer you day dream over the past&the present so we reflect upon the sky as the drops came over went to the park as the Ducks make there voices heard in the stream of Water

Funk Music

Funk Music always truly brought out a Attitude that you either could relate to or you couldn't. the Grooves&Blends just hit on the spot. Funk Bands or Acts had Horns,Thumping Bass,Booming Drums, smooth Keyboards,Saucy Guitar,&vocals that reach&make you feel that flavor. Funk Music had to have spranged from the Jazz Swing Band Era because you can hear Traces of Funk from Count Basie or Louis Jordan. but James Brown is known as the Godfather of the Funk. then you get Sly Stone,Parliament Funkadelic,Jimi Hendrix&other Funkateers that have made there mark on this Musical Gumbo stew that Blends so many styles,Wit&Social Commentary as one. Funk Music Acts were always about doing there own thing. you always know the Grooves&the vibe the Music gave you.

Jazz Music/Rap/Hip-Hop

two completely different music genries that represent two different eras in the country. both have various styles&Phrasing within there respective fields. Jazz had a smooth&then a free style Fusion that incorperated many musical stews. Rap/Hip-Hop was a Person, place thing, event that triggered off words&a Beat that was set to a world wide audience that awaited what would represent the latest trends. Jazz is very complex but yet relates to the Blues of the common Man&Woman. Rap Music speaks on Everyday Life&is a Poetry that asks you who you are&what is your Being? both bridged a gap that reflected on the Society at large&sought to be a voice.Jazz was Angry but Smoothed out.Rap was Hungry,Madd,Passionate, but yet still doesn't have only one voice to represent.Jazz is a collection of voices that spoke with a Instrument that channeled many experiences&attitudes. every Music has a voice that blends as one but yet there are many more instruments that breath life into both Genries of the Music.

Is it Real?

you see things&feel they appear a certain way&yet you pull back because you wonder if they come with a spin or the way it's someone's elses vision so we watch&wait with wondering what lays around the corner&be it on TV,Radio or computer we still can't fully make up our mind where we gonna go with the Choice being presented to us so another day&More Headlines&we lurk for the next catchphrase that leads into our daily mindset so funny how what seemed to be Fiction now goes as Fact so much for a Start,Middle&a Ending huh?

The Crusaders

this Band has always been my favorite Jazz Band. Lead by the Great Keyboard work of Joe Sample they have always struck a chord with my ears.I enjoy the versatility&range of the Band. I have there Box set which truly captures them from the 60's through the present.the Arrangements&Playing are really tight.they had a strong brand of Fusion into there stylings.Stix Hooper,Wayne Henderson,Wilton Felder,Joe Sample,&Others had a Hand in there trademark sound, but you always knew the neucleus of the Band. Joe Sample is my all time favorite Keyboard Player.Wilton Fedler is a Great Sax Player&a Very Underrated Bass Player.Stix Hooper knocks out the Drums.
