Overlooked Music heroes of Mine
many Cats that I dig haven't gotten there Due&Props. Cats like Michael Henderson,Steve Arrington. on the Female tip Randy Crawford&Syleena Johnson amongest others haven't gotten there due.I mean there are alot of Talented folks who haven't gotten there full Props for what they have contributed to our Lives as Creative beings. I often wonder why certain folks get overlooked? but nevertheless I can always groove to there work while thye get slept on.
the many ways of the Telephone
as a kid I use to have the Phone rotary style&then the Press style. then the Phone in the Car. then you have the long cord Phone where you drag the line all over the House. then you go cordless. I mean the Phone has gone through so many ways to use it. some folks use headsets to operate when they are talking. nowadays you can talk on a Computer directly but upon thinking back in the day wow we have gone through so many ways of using a phone.to bad a Pay Phone ain't adapted to Modern Technilogy yet though?

Jack Johnson:great Champion&a Free man
watched the Pbs special&truly enjoyed it.quite a few years back I Bought a Book on Him,bought the Miles Davis Tribute Album to Him from 1971.saw the Movie that had James Earl Jones Portraying him. Jack Johnson was a Man who expressed Himself at a time when it wasn't safe to be open&Free.Jack Johnson was the first Black Heavyweight champion&He paved the way for so many. this Great Documentary that Ken Burns promoted truly does Jack Johnson Proud.when you watch the Jack Johnson story hard to believe it all happen within the past 100 years because it seems further back than that.He was One of a Kind.
R.Kelly:great Artists&Songs
R.Kelly is my all time Favorite Musician&His Albums&Songs continue to showcase His Genius ways. He took on the Powers that Be&didn't backdown. He didn't want to go to the Vietnam war&he was willing to risk His Freedom&time without His Boxing Career for what He believed in. he is truly a Hero to me because He was always Himself. He truly has touched so many lives around the World.there hasn't been another Athlete quite like Him since.the Closes was Charles Barkley, but Ali was always about making a Statement. he was a 3 time Heavyweight Champion. He is also a Olympic Champion as well. He always spoke His Mind&Kept it real.Happy Birthday to the Greatest&He is timeless.

DR King
we have to ask ourselves will we ever reach the full point or even the halfway point of Dr King's I have a Dream Speech? we still have injustices&Racial tensions throughout the Nation.we have as a nation have made grat strides but we still have so far to go&the question is why? why do we have to still deal with the same issues&un-acceptance as we as a nation had to deal with in 1905? Dr King truly made many sacrifices for the Better meant of all People. He took a stance&we as a People have to take a stance as a Nation to come together&make the future better for future generations. we need People to know that they can be whatever they want to be.we have to leaders&take stand on things as Dr King Opened so many doors for all Americans.

does anybody care on Wins on Award Shows?
I mean we watch these shows but it ends up being about fashion as to what what was accomplished with said persons creation. year in&year out it's the same elements that run it.I can't recall or remember the last time a award show truly moved me.all these shows seem so predictable&you are sitting there already knowing who is gonna win 9 times out of 10.it a Popularity contest at the end of the day mainly.product placement&folks playing up to the camera so much so.only the hardcore Novice remembers who wins these days anyway.it would be cool if it mattered but that is just wishful thinking.

does Music still matter?
with File-Sharing&Downlaoding the way music is done today I often wonder out-loud does buying Music or hearing it the same way matter still? remember the days of running to the locla record store&the joy of Holding the new Music&reading the notes&whatnot. today it's a fastfood mentality.well the factors are simple:aside from a few Artists&Acts here&there must Discs only have about 2-3 tight cuts worth having.it's cheaper to pay for tracks than to be caught with alot of filler. truth is there has always been Albums with alot of filler.difference is you use to not have to pay almost 20 dollars for a disc.discs are cheaper to make than tapes, but they are sold for more.we are in a interesting time period with Technilogy.

I Love Me some Comedy
huge fan of Redd Foxx,Richard Pryor,Rodney Dangerfield,Paul Mooney,Benny Hill,Eddie Murphy,George Carlin,&Others that have made me laugh&reflect on things in life.gotta give a strong shout out to Lenny Bruce,Rudy Ray Moore,Lawanda Page,Moms Mabley,Cheech&Chong&tons more who have tickled my funny bone&also made me look at life through a full cup&eye. Comedy is the most honest form of expression on the planet. it's harder to make people laugh than it is to make them cry. there a Genius&saddness all rolled into one with Comedy.you have to go through some true ordeals&Obstacles to understand the power of the Laughter.

Reality TV
when did it become more happening than people going out to Hollywood&staring in Tv shows being created by writers? I mean how many shows about make-overs,swapping enviroments, job related,entertainment,etc... shows can possibly be done? it seems to be that every channel is on the bandwagon with no slowing down in sight.I remember when MTV started out with the 'real world"&It had some charms to it,but after a while it got predictable, but who knew it would be the norm of what was to come?Reality Tv is like that car wreck:we all pass by but have to take a peak. not many of these shows are worth my time personally but I also understand the appeal.everybody has to get there 15 minutes of fame.we have more channels these days to select from, but Reality TV is poping up on almost all the channels.
Sports Parity
I often wonder where people stand on it? it only really works for Pro football. other sports with Parity seem to be watered down.like it wouldn't work with the NBA or Baseball because you have to have a favorite type of team to go after.even in college it doesn't work.but these days parity is everywhere in sports.but only Pro football can get you into enjoying teams that were laughable a few years back&suddenly they are on the verge of making at run at the Super Bowl. College Sports today is very Pro inspired&whatnot so it's no surprise. we all want to be entertained&like the Movie"any given sunday" we can except it with Football.
Barry Bonds
no matter what anyone says Barry Bonds is still the Greatest Baseball Player that I have ever seen. you have to have the skills&ability to continue to do what He does year in&year out. He has stolen over 500 bases, closing in on the Hoem run record, all time walks leaders, bats over 300& 7 time golden glove winner. He makes teammates better think about the MVp Jeff Kent won while playing with Barry? He already a Hall Of Famer before the past 5 seasons anyway.a Great all-around force of Talent.

Shaq
so glad to see the Best NBA Player in the League having a MVP season in Miami. He was unfairly ran out of the Los Angeless&needless to say the Lakers don't look so hot these days. meanwhile Shaq has the Miami Heat looking like they might win it all this year.I've always dug Shaq.he is the Best Player in the League&the Greatest Ever to Me as well.3 time Champion&3 time finals MVP.One League MVP,2 time All-star MVP&Countless Other Awards, but more importantly Shaq is downhome people.classy Soul Brother&brings the best out of each other.
R.Kelly
Happy Birthday to the musical Genius of our time. his Brithday is saturday the same as Elvis Presley. talk about Irony of two Artists who Dominated there Respective Eras. R.kelly has been able to Blend R&B,Pop,Hip-Hop&Others styles as One for almost 15 years&shows no signs of slowing down as a Creative Force.as a Writer,Arranger,Producer,Instrumentalist,Vocalist, stylist, concept Artist the Man is unstoppable. I have all of His albums&Various Projects&whatnot.I look forward to another year of His Creativity.
